Everyday Life of a Sleepless Otaku
"Lets go! I finally got the Demon Kings sword, Muramusa!" I said after grinding 'Lord of Hell' all night. "Shoot, what time is it?" I said to myself. "Oh Crap, its 2 AM and I have school tomorrow." In case you didn't know, I am Nagumo Hajime, the one and only son of Shuu Nagumo and Sumire Nagumo. I am the son of a Mangaka and Game Developer. I am just your everyday otaku. The only unique thing is that I go to a school called Kuoh Academy, I dread it though. I'm a third- year, with an average looks. Why would I want to go to school when I could be playing video games and browse the internet? It way easier to just stay home.
*Ring ~ *Ding
"Ugh, I shouldn't have stayed up so late just for that item. Just five more minute wouldn't hurt right?" I said as I went back to sleep. Little did I know the potential danger this could have caused.
"Honey wa... I said WAKE UP!" I jolted awake as I heard my mom yell at me from the doorway.
"You're going to be late for school honey, and I can't drive you to school today either."
Confused, I look to my clock and I see that I accidentally slept for 30 more minutes then I meant to.
"Oh Crap." I said rushing to get ready for the school day. I ran down the stairs to the kitchen for breakfast. Only to find my father downstairs at the table.
"How did you like the prototype of the game?" My dad asked me once I sat down.
"I thought it was pretty fun, it had a lot of fun aspects. Just please increase the drop chances I spent 7 hours grinding for a weapon, only for the stats to be horrible." I said as my father laughed at me.
"We make the chances of getting a good item low, so we get more playtime. Or you spend some money." My father said with a dubious grin that I know all too well.
"Hajime, I know you have to go but don't eat too fast, you'll choke." My mother said as I was scarfing down food. The breakfast was pretty good, I had eggs with bacon, but I took the toast to go. I was in a rush because, I had to get there before the 'devil of the student council' could give me a rant about tardiness. I went up to my room to put on my uniform and get ready for school. The uniform wasn't comfy but I had to deal with it. I grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs. I bolted through the door with toast in my mouth. I was in a hurry and ran at a decent pace with my non-athletic body, although I wasn't athletic I wasn't slow. Even though I was in a hurry, I did want to run into someone like a typical romance trope and end up falling in love.
After about 15 minutes of running, with breaks in between of course. I made it to school. I the 'demon' ahead of me, her name was Sona Shitori. A pretty girl, with a bob-cut and pink eyes. Ranked within top 5 of the prettiest girls at our school. She was standing at the gate of the school with her arms crossed. I looked at my watch and realized I had very little time to get there before being marked late. I ran as fast as I could, to get there before the first bell. To my surprise I did. I just barely managed to get there.
"Nagumo, you're barely here on time. I except better from you." Sona said with a stare, so cold that I felt my body temperature dropping.
"I'm sorry Kaicho, I was up late doing... uh... homework, yeah homework." I said I was trying to come with an excuse as for her not to be mad at me.
"Nagumo, are you lying to me? I heard your dad's company Nbox is designing a new game. I don't like lies, because they can cause a spiral of distrust." She said as her stare got colder.
"No, no I'm serious." I lied to her, although I didn't want to make her mad. It was the only way I could prevent her from getting any more mad at me.
"Okay then, I'll trust you for now. Now run along to class." Said Sona as she seemed to believe my lie.
"Thank you, Sona" I told her while walking away.

I find my desk and sit down. I sit in the back corner desk next to the window. I know i'm not a badass protagonist with amazing powers, but a man can have his dreams. I have Algebra 2 in the morning and it sucks horribly. My class is the first one to do anything, so I can't even ask for help from previous periods. What makes it worse is that I have the school's prince in my class, who the girl's won't stop lusting over. His name is Yuuto Kiba, he sometimes helps the kendo team and is really god with swords. I find swords old fashioned though, I think guns are way better. They are way faster than anyone who could swing a sword, have way better range, could do more damage, and all you have to do is pull a trigger. Anyways, I hate this class the most out of any of mine.
My second period, is Chemistry. This class isn't that bad surprisingly. I am pretty good with the elements and moreover metals in general. I like this class the best out of all of mine. I know some kids in this class but I'm not. really buddy buddy with anyone.The teacher can be a bit hard to understand sometimes but she seems kind. I hope she stays here. The only bad thing is that I sit next to one of the 'prettiest girls' in the school. One of the school's 'Onee-sans,' her name is Akeno Himejima. She has black hair and purple eyes, she is the second on the list of the academy's most beautiful girls. We have to work together on group assignments, and she is nice to me. Although, I do dislike her teasing and she sometimes can make fun of me. The other bad thing is that sitting next to her causes the glares of my classmates. Overall, this my favorite class for sure.
My third period is writing, this class is ok for me. The teacher tries too hard to be relatable and "hip with the youngsters." He can still be pretty nice and his grading isn't that bad. The downside is that he can assign multiple projects at once which take a lot of time to deal with and we can barely get done with. One of the positives as most of the class would say, is that we have the other 'Onee-san' of the academy. She is number one on the most beautiful girls in Kuoh Academy. Her name is Rias Gremory, she has red hair and light blue eyes. She is a mature and caring person who everyone in the class adores. I look up to her and want to try to be as great as her, not. One day I came in early surprisingly, and I saw Rias reading Chainswordman in the classroom. I was in shock and didn't except something like this. She saw me open the door and she knew she was done for. We both came to a mutual understanding and she sometimes asks me for recommendations when we are alone in class. This class isn't the worst but it isn't the best.
My fourth period is english. This class is my second to least favorite. I hate the teacher, she rarely speaks Japanese and whenever she does, she criticizes us for not being able to understand her. I'm sorry I don't fluently speak English, when I'm raised in Japan. This class doesn't really have any redeeming features. Although the class is hard, the assignments are pretty easy and I could always ask previous periods. There isn't much to say about this class but it isn't as bad as Algebra.
After English, I have lunch. The food here is really good and I like it a lot. My favorite food they serve is their Udon Noodles. They are so good and even better than my mom's. Don't tell her that I said that. I usually sit outside or in the classroom by myself. I read manga or play some games. Sometimes I watch the three perverted guys. I forgot their name, what was it? Perverted Triples? Ah, It was the Perverted Trio. They usually try to do something stupid like peek on the girls, but they get caught all the time so its pretty funny. Another great thing about lunch, is that its a mental break for me. I'm not the smartest out there so any break for my brain is more then appreciated.
My Fifth period is Japanese History. This class is my second favorite. The teacher is really fun, and I have a lot of fun in his class. A few of the downsides are the assignments and the tests. The tests are usually really hard and half the class fail them. Luckily, I barely pass them every time. Assignments are just horrible, he gives us packets expects us to complete them when we don't know like anything about them. Although the class can be annoying I am friends with the student council vice-president Tsubaki Shinra. She is always serious, but she is pretty kind to me. Although, we met this year she has still been really nice with me and sometimes tutors me if I start lagging behind others. I really like this class, not as much as Chemistry but it is still enjoyable.

After School, I decided to head to a PC Cafe, there was a new one built near the mall last weekend and I have been wanting to go for a while. So I decided today was the day, I went and it was pretty enjoyable. The snacks were pretty good and I played some multiplayer games. I was playing "Yell of Duty: Warzone" with randoms and I met a pretty cool older guy. His username was 'CrowLeader,' I know, it sounded dumb. He was pretty fun to talk with. I added him and we played for a while.
Before I knew it, it got dark outside and I had to be back before dinner. I looked at the time and saw that I had to go. We said goodbyes and I left for home. I forgot to take in account how far it was so I looked for shortcuts. I realized I could cut through a few old warehouses to get home faster. The area felt pretty sketchy and I didn't trust it but I had to get home. Who knows what mom would do. Thinking about it gave me shivers. Walking through I heard screams, real screams. I was scared and petrified. Sure I heard screams in horror games, but these felt different. Although I knew I shouldn't, I decided to look in the factory where I heard it, and little did I know how my life would change from this.

I plan to try to upload at least twice a month and I will do my best to keep consistent. I got inspiration from Transmutation Master DxD and I hope I can do my best to fulfill your expectations.
P.S. I have an idea as to what sacred gear to give him. It will be something like God's Omniscience, allowing him to see other universes. If you have another idea please let me know.
