Aizen initially thought he wouldn't quickly use his Wisdom points to learn basic techniques.
But now he had changed his mind.
When he entered Demon Mountain City, he changed his mind.
"System notification: Demon Mountain City discovered, triggering a side mission: Establish Dominance.
Mission objective: Seize a property within the city and establish a foothold.
Mission reward: 1000 Wisdom points.
Mission penalty: A random martial skill will be erased."
The reward of 1000 Wisdom points indicated that this mission was of high difficulty, at least two or three times harder than killing Farel.
Farel's strength ranked him among the top 300 out of 100,000 low-level disciples, so if this mission was two to three times more difficult than killing him, how challenging could it be?
With difficulty came danger, and in the demonic Clans, danger meant life and death. Strengthening his abilities had now become essential.
Demon Mountain City was vast, with people desperately trying to enter from outside while those inside howled in despair, wishing to leave.
This was a city of sin.
And now, Aizen needed to secure a place to stay in this city—a name that would deter others from targeting him.
For this foothold, for this name, he needed to raise his strength even a little. Even a small boost could be the deciding factor between killing others and protecting himself.
He now stood in front of a small courtyard in the east of the city.
A beautiful woman in black, with her hair tied back in a green silk ribbon, stood at the gate of the courtyard across from him, her arms crossed, leaning against a doorpost, smiling like a flower.
Her beautiful face and youthful, lively figure attracted many secretive glances from men.
Aizen could even hear the sound of a few people swallowing in their throats.
It was the sound of men salivating over a woman, though they could only harbor it secretly. They couldn't act on it.
This was because this woman was no ordinary woman. She was Lilith, known as Flying Cloud Hand Lilith, ranking among the top fifty low-level disciples.
"Flying Cloud" described the beauty of her movements when she threw darts. But beautiful things always came with a deadly danger.
Right now, though, it wasn't Lilith who was dangerous—it was Aizen.
At least, that's how many saw it. Aizen was in a dangerous position.
It wasn't because Lilith wanted to kill Aizen, but because Aizen had offended someone as powerful as Lilith.
That person was named Gormak, also known as Mighty Vajra Gormak.
People stronger than Gormak called him "big fool," but those weaker than him didn't dare to say that. Those who did were already dead.
Today, under Lilith's instruction, Aizen had called him that, and not only that, he had also chopped down the sign hanging over Gormak's estate.
It was a fine nanmu wood plaque, though somewhat worn, with the words Vajra Court carved into it.
Vajra Court? Did they think this was some kind of monastery?
This was the Demonic Clan, not a monk's temple.
Gormak had been roused by the commotion outside and the shrill call of "big fool."
When he woke, there was a half-naked young girl lying beside him, a servant girl he had abducted from the lower servant quarters. She had been ravaged by him the night before, reduced to a limp, lifeless heap, still unconscious.
"Get out of my way!"
Gormak pushed the half-naked girl off the bed, his nearly nine-foot-tall muscular frame naked except for a tiger-skin skirt. He grabbed the large iron sword by his bed and burst through the door.
"Which blind maggot is shouting outside my door?"
Gormak marched out with his large sword on his shoulder, immediately seeing Aizen standing at the gate of his courtyard. He also noticed the plaque, which had been split in half, and his pupils shrank slightly.
Aizen stood there in black clothes, his black hair draped over his shoulders, casually holding a sword while gazing at Gormak with a smile.
Someone had come to provoke him.
This person was either a fool, acting out of desperation, or deliberately stirring trouble.
Gormak wasn't a fool, so he didn't think Aizen was either. Moreover, Aizen didn't look desperate. It was clear now—this was deliberate provocation.
Knowing Gormak's reputation as Mighty Vajra and still daring to come and provoke him... Who was this person? What did he rely on? Where did his courage and confidence come from?
Gormak then saw Lilith, leaning against the gatepost of the courtyard across the way. This woman from the Left Faction had always been at odds with him, a member of the Right Faction. But even though they were rivals, during times of peace, neither faction interfered with the other.
Could it be that Lilith was backing this kid? Could the competition between the two factions be starting again?
"State your name. I, Gormak, do not kill nameless people."
Regardless of whether there was some hidden agenda behind this, Gormak had to kill today.
Even with Lilith watching from the side, he didn't believe that some unknown boy like Aizen could harm him in any way.
Aizen tilted his head slightly and raised the sword in his hand. His eyes focused on the sharp blade, smiling seriously. "Aizen."
"Who is Aizen? Have any of you heard of him?"
"Nope, maybe Lilith is trying to take down Gormak and is using this kid to make the first move, drawing his attention."
"I look at that scrawny body, and it's like a lamb to the slaughter. Do you think Gormak's blade will split him in half with one strike?"
The black-clad disciples gathered around watching were laughing and mocking.
No one thought much of Aizen.
Mighty Vajra Gormak didn't earn his reputation by chance. He earned it by smashing the bodies of countless enemies with his sword.
He practiced only basic sword techniques, but his natural strength was immense. No one dared take one of his sword strikes head-on. His blade was heavier and more terrifying than a hammer.
There was a dish at a tavern in Demon Mountain City called Sword-Smashed Cucumbers, and Gormak had a signature move called Sword-Smashed Heads.
Gormak confirmed that he had never heard of anyone named Aizen.
Since he was sure, there was nothing more to say.
Gormak hefted his sword and walked toward Aizen at the gate.
His nine-foot-tall frame exuded an intimidating pressure as he moved forward. The thick hair on his chest clumped together, making him resemble a walking black bear.
Aizen also slowly walked toward Gormak, his steps steady. After learning the basic movement technique, his lower body strength had improved.
The hand gripping his sword was large and flat, and anyone who saw that hand could tell that anything it held would be grasped tightly, especially a sword. It would be difficult to knock the sword out of his hand.
But against Gormak's natural strength, could Aizen really hold on to his sword?
No one knew.
At a distance of three zhang, Gormak's pupils narrowed. His entire body surged forward like an enraged bear charging at Aizen, his footsteps shaking the ground and cracking the earth beneath him.
Buzz!
No fancy moves, just a straightforward slash with his sword, cutting through the air toward Aizen!
This was a pure killing move.
It was filled with lethal intent.
However, Gormak didn't exert his full strength, as he was still wary of Lilith standing at the opposite courtyard gate.
Lilith's hidden weapons were always unpredictable and deadly.
Even with constant vigilance, there was still the possibility of getting hit by a dart. A single lapse in attention almost guaranteed a wound.
