Being Watched?

Ze moved at high speeds and was getting closer to central region. He didn't know what is happening but he is having a feeling that something is watching him. He checked his surroundings many times but couldn't find anything.

So, he moved at very high speeds to get out of this area fast. But still that feeling didn't go away.

He then stopped, climbed a tree and closed his eyes. He wanted to figure out what this feeling is.

He then saw an invisible thread that was connected to his forehead. The thread was thin and he couldn't have seen it if he didn't concentrate with his entire being.

Without any delay he cut the thread.

A distance away from Ze, Rou who was watching Ze's movements suddenly coughed a mouthful of blood.

All the members of the team suddenly stopped and were thinking that some enemy is attacking. After all, Xuan Rou is leading the team and is at the forefront, so the enemy must have targeted her.

They spread their spiritual and divine senses many times but couldn't find anyone.

Xuan Qing then helped her master up and took a medicine pill and fed it to her.

Rou was in disbelief. The surprises she got today easily outnumbered the surprises she got her entire life.

Her ability Tracer produces a thread which crosses space and time and attaches itself to her target. She can observe the target movements and location.

If her target is on lower realm than her, then they wouldn't find anything out of ordinary. If her target is in higher realm, they would notice something is wrong and they will find that someone is watching.

So, to avoid any backlash, as soon as they find the thread she retracts it. She never failed in doing so.

But today she failed. Because she couldn't watch the target's movements, she failed to notice that she had been discovered. So she suffered an injury. From the looks of it, she needs at least three months for full recovery. She couldn't use her ability in the mean time.

She was also surprised about how she was discovered. Even if that person is at true immortal realm, it would be impossible to notice her.

The other reasons are that person is at higher realm than her or his divine ability allowed him to know that someone is spying.

Either of that is surprising to know.

Qing : "Master, what happened? Did someone attack you?"

Rou : "Cough, cough. Its nothing. I was using the law to observe the surroundings, when I suffered a backlash. Something is blocking my senses. So stay vigilant everyone. We never ventured into the central region of the desolate. We may find anything there. So be on guard."

Everyone was terrified to hear this. Something is blocking Miss Rou's Divine readings. It is not good news. Everyone present here knows that Xuan Rou is a genius in using Fate law. She is probably only second to her sect master and ancestor in divine readings in the entire continent. To cause her such backlash, whatever it is, its not good. So they stayed alert and began to move.

Ze was observing all this from a distance. After he found that he is being watched, he immediately used his will and eyes to scan for the person responsible.

He didn't use his will from the beginning because he do not want to take a chance. He thought someone might notice something if he keeps using his divine senses. So he is only checking his surroundings.

He did not expect such a thing to happen. He began to check the information about this woman who is spying on him.

After all they came here to search for someone. And he was travelling like a ninja in stealth mode. Maybe she thought I'm some outlook sent to observe the situation. When he thought about that he relaxed a little.

He didn't think that his abilities would cause such misunderstanding. But he also know even with her divine ability she shouldn't be able to find him.

He then speculated her instincts are high and since he passed under her senses, she got hold of him.

Ze also knows that the mistake lies with him. He is using the shroud ability in a restrictive manner.

Before he got his martial techniques, he let the shroud ability to operate in full. But after that because he wanted to train in his cosmic steps that such mistake happened.

To understand this, one had to know that the system clearly stated no one would find him when it gave him the ability. When Ze asked for the reason, system then gave an explanation.

[Master, your shroud ability is called "Primeval Void Celestial Rainbow Shroud." From this you know that this ability is connected to the void. After you assimilated your body you already have to the ability to travel freely in the void and also to hide in the void.

But with this ability you can access the void in the real plane of existence. It means although with your body, you have affinity with the space you're present in the continent, you have not reached such proficiency that you can access it. All you get is increased speed.

But with shroud ability you become one with the void. If you want to travel in the continent, you can travel through the space tunnels, void space that is naturally present in the continent and no one, not even the Primordial Gods will notice anything amiss. Unless those gods also have space universal law, no one will notice anything.]

When Ze heard the explanation of the system, he was overjoyed. When he tried doing that he found it really convenient. When he travelled in the space tunnels, his speed is improved too.

It was like a glass separating him from the real plane when he was in those tunnels. When he willed to exit, he did so with no problem.

But when he got cosmic steps, he restricted this ability. He wanted to travel in the real plane, so he didn't use the tunnels. Also his movement technique too is perfect for the void. So the speed is increased to a great extent there.

The reason he wanted to travel in the real plane was if in future he gets to know someone, he cannot reveal that he can travel in the space tunnels, right? So he wanted to attain proficiency of the technique in real plane. It will not affect when he travelled in the void. So there's no trouble. But he didn't expect this incident happening.

Now that he encountered such situation, he reminded himself to more careful. And also because he already came in contact with this ability, he will be more sensitive in the future. If she tries it again, he will know.

After that he immediately removed his restrictions entered the void space tunnels and began to run towards the central region at full speed. He wanted to put more distance between him and that woman.

After travelling continuously for twelve hours, he reached the central region. He exited the tunnel and began to observe his surroundings for beasts and resources.
