"I have a request to make, sir" Mr. Han appealed to the man sitting in the central chair. Han was one of the most mysterious members of the organization. His strength was known to a small circle of people. The man was one of them.

"I would love to hear it, Mr. Han."

"Mia is already on the verge of breaking through. Even if she did get ranked as a potential S-rank warrior, it would take a lot of time to get to that position. I hence request you to allow her access to all the cultivation resources which were collected by the Chang couples."

"The resources naturally belong to her," Mr. Han said. I will make way for the transfer as soon as she passes the awakening ceremony. I give you my words that no matter what the results are, the resources will be given to her, along with all their gears and possessions left here in the guild." Many dull faces could be seen around the table.

The Chang couple was one of the most accomplished hunters within the guild. Everything they owned was top tier. Their death attracted a lot of eyes to these resources.

Mr. Han couldn't help but smile at the man's cunningness. He insisted on the matter to prevent someone else from getting a claim on those things. The frontman seems to have taken the opportunity to secure the resources completely for the Changs. He expected nothing else from the personal disciple of the deceased duo. The man himself was an S-rank hunter but it seemed that he cared about the couple a lot.

" As per the boy, make sure to put the best instructor into training him. Although from the initial scouting, I am led to believe that he doesn't have much potential, but we still owe it to the Changs. I also want a body strengthening elixir to be given to him once he comes near the age of awakening."

The meeting was over and only one man remained within the office. He was sitting on his chair quietly, looking at a photo in his hand. It had three people in it. One was the man, while the other two were the Chang couples.

"I promise to investigate the matter thoroughly. Your death is by no means natural. Someone manipulated the whole scenario from the background. When I do find the guy, I will make sure to have him suffer a fate worse than death."

"The threat sounds quite scary, especially from an S-rank hunter like you, Nathan." It was none other than Mr. Han who was speaking. The man turned around to face him. A small tinge of tears could be seen flowing down his face.

"I didn't expect Mr. Han to pay me a personal visit."

"I know that you are quite upset regarding the death of the Changs, but don't make any rash steps. You still haven't solidified your strength yet. The enemy is not some average Joe. You need to surpass your current limit to face them."

"I guess you have some guesses regarding the culprit behind this matter."

"All I could find in my investigation pointed in one direction, the band of hunters who attacked them seem to be assassin type. There are multiple assassin organizations around the world, but only a handful of them had their capable members dispatched during the time of incidents. I need more time to find the real culprit behind all these."

"Are the indicators pointing at that group by any chance?"

"Some of it is indicating their direction. It would make sense if they were the ones who are behind the incidents. Except for the duo, only their leader had access to that information."

The man banged his wrist on the table, which instantly collapsed, along with the floor below. Mr. Han couldn't help but gasp in surprise. S-rank hunters were extremely strong. The casual action was able to do so much damage.

"Find out everything about the incident. I want the report before Mia joins us." Mr. Han was surprised to see that the man was confident about bringing it. Mia to their side. He seems to be prepared to bear the consequences.

"I will" Mr. Han left the room.

Mia Chang was bust practicing for the upcoming awakening test. Being the daughter of two A-rank hunters, she was invited by a lot of organizations. Kaiser was the biggest out of all of them in addition to it being her parents' previous workplace.

The woman who was instructing her to prepare for the awakening test was an A-rank hunter who was a friend of her mom. Her real name was Xiao Mingue, but she was known to the world as 'Huntress'.

"You seem to be tensed about something?" The lady hit Mia, banging her to the ground.

"Your movements are getting rougher as time passes. I can't allow that to happen. Your mother and I were the best of friends. You can share your problems with me."

Mia couldn't help but get depressed. She was trying hard to hide it, but the instructor seemed to notice anyway. " I am worried about the awakening ceremony."

"Are you not confident about the rank you might receive? I am quite sure that the aura emanated from you should be at least that of a beginner A-rank."

"I am quite sure about my abilities. I am sure that I would be rated higher than S-rank." Huntress was shocked upon hearing such a confident statement from an awakener. " What I am worried about is my brother."

"What about him?"

"You have heard about the imbalanced transfer of genetic power from parents to offspring. The first child gets the most benefit, while it subsequently decreases from the second child onwards. It was due to the limited power held by a hunter's gene."

"If I did receive an S-rank or higher, what do you think would happen in the case of my brother?"

"Are you thinking that he might get a very low rank, or even be a waste?" Huntress couldn't help but use such harsh words.

Mia nodded. She loved her brother more than anything in the world. She couldn't bear if she was the reason behind her brother's incompetence. Huntress couldn't help but sympathize with the situation. It was true that this situation might indicate the obvious.

In her experience with S-rank awakeners, most of their siblings turned out to be low-ranking hunters, who later choose a civil job and serve the people rather than hunting. The life of low-class awakeners was quite pathetic in the current society.

She hugged Mia, and said to her, " whatever the outcome, all you can do is accept fate, and try to achieve the best possible result. IF you are concerned about your brother's fate, become a top-class hunter, which would enable you to take proper care of him. An S-rank hunter is way better than two mediocre hunters."

Mia continued her practice. Huntress was proficient in the use of illusion and speed arts. She was more of an assassin type hunter, and hence her training constituted of stamina and quick attack schedules. Mia didn't know what the result of her awakening might be and hence got trained by multiple hunters.

There was one who helped her in physical training, mental energy, weapons, illusions, speed, etc. Kaiser invested quite a few resources in her training.

"I hope you could join Kaiser in place of your mom. We could go on missions together." Xiao Mingue didn't go easy on her niece.

The night was slowly dawning upon the world.

The awakening finally happened, and to everyone's surprise, Mia got ranked as an SS-grade hunter. It was the domain of the most powerful rank hunters and her abilities lay in physical power and mental coercion. An SS-rank hunter with dual abilities was like a huge mine of diamonds. The whole world was turned into turmoil, with many organizations trying to recruit her.

Kaiser managed to get hands-on with it first. It was the first time Kaiser had a hunter with SS-rank potential, and hence she was instantly given one of their highest ranks and all the facilities provided to her were top class. She was one of China's few SS-rank hunters.

"Congratulations, Big Sis." I couldn't help but hug her with happiness. She too was smiling, but an unknown sorrow could be seen in her eyes, every time she looked at me.

It wasn't late when Kaiser formally sent their hunters to give her full access to all the resources she gets on joining the organization and access to our parent's vault. Mia soon left for training at the top institution in our country, Heaven Dragon Academy, leaving me alone in the house.

4 am, present day-

I was training my body and mind as of now. I too was preparing for my awakening ceremony. I couldn't remember one night after Mia left when I could sleep properly. Hence I decided to dedicate myself to training my strength before the coming of age ceremony to be held.

I couldn't let down my sister when I promised myself to become capable enough of taking care of her.

I received a letter from her asking me to do my best during the ceremony. It was the last time I heard from her in a long time. Many eyes were on me since the ceremony was nearby. Mr. Han often visited to give me pointers during my training. I clutched the letter and assured myself.
