Tormentous Love

"What about us, Janelle?" Gideon asked, kneeling in a pool of blood. "We never existed!" Janelle replied "I gave you everything..." Gideon said "After taking everything away from me? I don't think you were expecting me to gloat over a piece of cake, after you destroyed my entire bakery!" Janelle replied tearing "I loved you, Janelle" "Your love was torturous, Gideon" "Says the woman who rejected a sacred bond because of rumors. Janelle, walk through that door, and we'll be strangers" "So be it!" **** Gideon followed the sweetest aroma that tickled his senses, until he found the owner of the sweet aroma. Janelle Johnson. Reserved. Calm. Happy. These were the words he would use to describe Janelle Johnson before she lost everything. Based on rumors, she rejected a bond she's longed for, her entire life. Evil. Wicked. Bold. These were what Janelle thought Gideon Sparks was until she had a close look at him. Fighting his own battles silently, Gideon watched Janelle slowly lead her people out of the hardship they landed and lended a helping hand. Rejecting his help was one thing her ego wanted, but her people came first. Accepting his conditions, meant she was exchanging her freedom for that of her people.

Chapter 1 Captives

The past twenty-four hours had been nothing but a nightmare for the Silver Moon Pack. As they walked, surrounded by their captors, some pitied their princess who could barely walk while others despised her, believing everything was entirely her fault. Would they be captives if she hadn't brazenly rejected the Alpha from the Frozen Moon Pack? It was obvious they stood no chance against the Frozen Moon Pack, yet their overly pampered princess failed to see it. Not only did her decision cost her, her purity, it costed her the blood of her beloved family and clansmen and now they were captives! Yet, none could openly accuse her because she's had her fair share of the pain they've been through.

"Y'all better hurry up or we'll force you to!" a high ranking warrior threatened.

Despite their tiredness, they tried to move faster. Even the princess who could barely walk, tried to move faster because she knew these warriors never made empty threats.

"Princess, be strong. We'll get there soon" Grace, Janelle's lady-in-waiting, said, as she encouraged her mistress.

"I'm okay, Grace. You don't have to worry about me" Janelle said as she smiled weakly. However, she fainted before she could take another step.

"Princess!" Grace screamed as she watched Janelle fall. Unfortunately for them, both their hands and legs were chained together, thus the princess's fall made all those behind her fall as well. This was enough to anger the warrior who had threatened them a few seconds ago.

"Whip them!" he ordered.

The other warriors released their whips and began to whip them mercilessly. Grace lied on Janelle to shield her unconscious body from the whips that may land her way. After a few whips had landed on her back, she heard horses whine and lifted her head only for a whip to harshly land on her forehead knocking her out of consciousness.

Janelle woke up in a dark room, filled with a stench she could hardly stomach. She tried to stand, only to realize her limbs were chained to a metal rod. Her surroundings seemed strange; no light, cold floor, gate made with rods of iron. Suddenly all the memories came rushing back and she felt her heart hurt. She was sure she was now in the enemy's territory. Without a doubt, she was in the dungeon or a something similar.

"Hello" Janelle managed to call out softly almost in a whisper, yet enough for a wolf to pick up, but was met with utter silence.

"Hello" she called out louder, despite how her throat hurt. But all she heard was echoes of her voice. She was all alone, that much she knew now. She knew very well tearing was not going to solve anything, yet that was all she could resort to, at the moment since she felt helpless. After hours of tearing, she wiped her face with her palm, suddenly filled with determination. She was going to avenge her family and her people to amend her past errors. She surely was going to! And all she needed to do was to survive.
