The clock of the hand was moving and ticking so fast maybe because tonight was going to be a special moment for some people and obviously not for me. I had already made up my mind that I wouldn't be going for the dinner night tonight because I had no business to be there and not like it mattered to anyone. Gazing on the ceilings inside my bedroom, my serenity got interrupted by the entrance of mother. I stood up from the mat where I laid watching the ceiling. I sat on the mat staring at mother wondering why she had entered my room without knocking like usual. She stood infront of me while I kept looking at her face.
"I'm aware you're not going to attend the dinner night at the Robinsons because of what they had done to you but does it really matter Julienne?". Mother asked me while I turned away my face.
"It does mum atleast my face would be saved from any further embarrassment at the mansion. I have nothing to do there and after all my business there is over." I replied her wearing a moody face.
"Attend it and that would show them that you're matured. Don't lower your grounds for anyone Julienne I beg your pardon." Mother advised me walking out of my bedroom.
I pondered on her words and finally decided to listen to mother. She had always given me good advices that went to my favor and I hoped this one does same too. I stood up to my feet heading towards my bag of clothes. I had no pretty dress at all and I was going to be scorned tonight. All my dresses were worn out and how I'm going to save myself from such disaster was all o thought about.
"Julienne it is just a dinner, wear whatever you've. Nobody has the right to question you because they're not feeding you." I whisphered to myself deciding to wear whatever I get my hands on.
I ransacked my bag bringing out all my clothes throwing them at several corners feeling very frustrated. Still searching my bag for a better dress, mother surprisingly entered my room again but this time with something special. I turned towards the entrance door looking at the beautiful pink dress she was holding on her right hand. It was very beautiful and it looked like she made it herself. I left my bag heading towards the door. I collected the dress from her hand admiring it with so much happiness written on my face.
"Mum...is this for me?" I asked.
"Doesn't it look like it is for you? Yes it is." She replied me with a warm smile nodding her head.
I pulled mother closer to me, giving her a ver big hug. She really knows how to solve any problem I am facing. I hurriedly entered into the loo changing into the dress testing it on me. After putting it on, I came outside standing infront of mother because she was the one with the final verdict. She did a thumb up for me while I smiled at her. I whirled around feeling the beauty of the dress on my body. It was really beautiful and my mum is really good at knitting and sewing.
"How much kisses am I allowed to blow at you mum? You are really my guardian angel. Thank you very much mom I love you." I said to her with a mild voice filled with genuine love and care.
"I love you too Julienne. I knew that you would have nothing to wear for the dinner tonight so I had to somehow do some quick sewing for you after hearing the news about having dinner night at the Robinson's mansion." Mum replied me while I flew into her arms again giving her a big hug.
★★Tonight★★★
It was already past seven in the early hours of the evening and Rachel was already at my home with Emman. Emman didn't want to attend the dinner night but Rachel had her way in compelling him to go. Both looked stunning in the outfits they pulled on since it was what they could afford. Emman has the luckiest Aunt that always sews beautiful outfits for him. She made his sack trousers and linen white shirt that was given a neat line on it using a charcoal iron. He looked fantastic tonight and I couldn't stop admiring him.
"Wow who made this dress for you Julienne? You look like a Cinderella off to see her prince charming tonight. Tell us who made your dress please." Rachel bugged me while I had to spill the te.
"Enough please... it's mum she made it for me. I wasn't even aware she had something hidden for me. It was a surprise outfit and I'm really in love with this dress." I replied her while Emman secretly admired my beautiful looks.
"Your mum is good at what she does and she needs just a more recognition. She must be making huge sums through her sewing too." Emman said to me while I nodded my head smiling.
As we were still discussing, we got interrupted my troops of the lads in our neighborhood that entered my home chattering throughout. We all left with them heading to the Robinson's mansion. We met others on our way and we learnt many were already there especially those obssessed to see Damian tssuip shameless of them.
Getting there, I stood infront of the huge gate before us refreshing the memories I had there. Rachel ran into the mansion with excitement while Emman turned to me wondering the reason I was just outside staring at the mansion. My eyes went up to the building as I sighted second window of Damian's bedroom that faced the gate of the mansion. I tilted my eyes focusing there to see if I would catch a glimpse of him. Emman followed my eyes wondering what I was looking at. He tapped me at my back while I ignored his presence still being focused. Emman got upset by my strange acting pulling me by my hand. He dragged me into the mansion but I still didn't remove my eyes there. When I couldn't see the window anymore, I finally got myself. I pulled out my hand from Emman's looking at him at a corner. I felt so pissed off by his attitude but I tried maintaining my cool.
"Why did you have to pull me that way Emman? Is there an issue between us that I have to face now?". I asked him worriedly.
"Yes! Yes there's. You have changed so much Julienne and I'm really worried about you. What were you looking at when we were outside huh?" Emman asked me while I stood looking at him speechless.
"N...No...Nothing!! You're just being worried for nothing to be honest okay? I'm fine don't worry about me I know you're just concerned towards your friend but believe me I'm fine." I replied him putting my hand on his shoulder.
After convincing him that I was okay, I walked away leaving him behind. I headed towards the field where Rachel and others were seated at enjoying the cold breeze of the evening. The field was decorated with colorful ribbons and balloons. There were fire crackers lying at a corner and meals decorated on each table. I couldn't stop admiring the graciousness of tonight. I have really missed the mansion so much and it felt like a missing part of me had returned back after I stepped my foot into the mansion again.
