CHAPTER 12

Running down the stairs I mistakenly bumped into Uriel but I was in a haste to leave. I ignored her presence leaving the mansion. Damian tried going after me but I had already ran out of the mansion going back home. He met his older sister on his way and she held onto him, stopping him from running any further. Damian felt so confused and wished he had stop earlier when I tried leaving his bedroom. All the memories between us was still afresh in his memory and he couldn't stop but ponder on them.

"Damian let her be, you've stooped so low enough for her it is time you stop already. The both of you are two different walls apart." Laurel whisphered to him under her breath with a low tone.

"I don't care about that Laurel, she didn't deserve to leave like this. Her punishments ain't over yet and you want me to remain calm No way!." Damian replied her frustratingly.

"It's not about the punishment you assigned to her Damian... You've fallen deeply in love with a common girl without realizing it. I'm you older sister and I know love when I see one." Laurel replied him while Damian stared at her surprised by her words.

Laurel nodded her head at him walking away while Damian stared at the gate which I had ran away from, thinking about his sister's words. He wondered if he was overreacting because he has fallen in love with me or because of my unfinished punishment. Damian staggeredly entered back into the mansion heading upstairs to his room still lost in thoughts. He was really confused and hated the fact that his mind was really messed up right now.

"No no no.... I'm not in love with Julienne I'm sure that I feel nothing for that young girl." Damian said to himself in a low tone trying to convince himself that he wasn't in love with me.

★★At home★★

Getting home, I sighted mother at a corner preparing bird feed for Aunt Gusto's pigeons. I ran towards her direction all in tears. I was very happy to see my mother again and this time I would be in her arms forever. Her heart would be broken if she finds out that the slate was broken by Damian's mother.

"Mother..M..Moth..errr" I screamed out her name stuttering with my shaking voice.

My tiny voice escaped into her ears as she raised up her face facing the direction at which she heard the voice come from. Having a glimpse of me, mum dropped the feed at a corner standing up on her feet. She took off to her heels running towards me. The faster she ran, the faster I ran too until we bumped into each jumping into the air in each other's arms. Tears of joy filled her eyes and happiness was written all over her face. Her smile was wide enough and anyone could easily detect the sudden joy on her face. Mum pulled me into her arms refusing to let me go. We cried on each other's arms for some minutes before letting go. She held me by my hand taking me to the chair she was sitting on before. Getting there, mother sat me down while she pulled a wooden high stool next to me and sat her butt down there.

"I wasn't expecting you to arrive today my precious little baby. What's wrong? Damian should have brought you back home." Mother questioned me looking round the surrounding if she would see Damian's vehicle parked at a corner but she didn't.

"His mother crossed the limit today mum. she destroyed that slate you gave me when I was a kId." I replied while she looked at me puzzled at my words.

Mother's heart was in so much pain after she heard my reason for leaving the Robinson's mansion. She felt bitter within her spirit but knew there was nothing she could do to get back at them. Mother consoled me in her arms while I cried like a baby. There's nothing to hold onto now that will remind me of my abandoned father. I will never forget Mrs Emilia for this particular act of hers.

"She really did cross her limit today but there's no reason to waste your tears on a rock. Your father in question wasn't a good father to you."Mother said to me with a low sad tone.

"I know that mum and I haven't forgotten your words about him. He still have to pay for leaving you when you needed him most and also for ruining my childhood. He's still my father and nature would never change that." I replied her with a heavy heart still sobbing.

"Wipe off your tears Julienne for that monster doesn't deserve it and I think ma'am Emilia indirectly did you a favour." Mum replied me with cold shoulders pushing my head away from her lap where I had laid my head.

Mother had moved on from father a long time ago she had this long lasting hatred for father and the last thing I would do was to judge her because that would be unfair from my side. Only mother knew the hell she went through in the hands of that cruel unknown man I tagged a father. She left me outside the house packing up Aunt Gusto's feed entering inside. I had reminded her of her past somehow

and she was a bit mad at me for not listening to her pleas.

"I'm sorry mum but I'm still affected here somehow. All I know is that ma'am Emilia will gnash her teeth in regret one day and I can't also stop worrying about Damian's feelings. He must be thinking I'm a very bad person right now." I lamented to myself sucking my lower lip like a baby.

At the other hand was Damian all at his courtroom alone feeling my absence at the mansion. Indeed absence makes the heart grow fonder. Laurel knocked on the door of his courtroom twice before entering inside with a cup of hot tea. She made his favorite tea and it was a way of helping him come out from his sad mood. Damian reached out his hand for the cup of hot tea gulping it all down heaving out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you sis...I really appreciate for your kindness and the tea is really nice." Damian praised while she beamed a light smile at him.

"Anything for my little kid brother. That is how much I love you Damian and I don't love this sadness scrambled on your face. Move on that lower class is no longer here and her absence has really brought back some sanity in this house. Don't you agree with me?" She asked him while Damian looked at her speechless.

"You're wrong Laurel...atleast she changed me somehow. I don't know but she somehow lighted up my happy side abit. I hate smiling and being friendly but she changed that in me. Didn't you notice how happy I have been over these days?" He replied her with a question while Laurel turned away her face.

Laurel couldn't pretend she didn't know he was actually right but she didn't want to side with me about that atleast for the sake of our class differences. Laurel wasn't helping Damian out in anyway and all he needed was to see me again. He felt like he was in some sort of punishment that would never end. The way I left the mansion earlier that day made him wonder if I was also holding some grudges against him too. He really wished he could use some trick to return me back at the mansion. He could actually do it though but his heart wouldn't let him maltreat me anymore.
