The Foreboding Mystery (Part 1)

In an old abandoned building you can hear the tear drops of water splashing the ground, the hush of the winds blowing inside and the squeaks of the rats and mice inhabiting the place. The coldness and quietness will make you shiver in the darkness of this factory building. The sun has not risen in the horizon to illuminate the dark place.

In the central assembly section of the factory was a lone man standing in bewilderment and surprised along with the questions written in his face. The man was just stationary, never moving his body even a bit to digest what happened to him.

He witnesses the impossible and unscientific phenomenon in his life. The man met a being and entity that closely resembled how God, angel, or a demon threads the mortal world. His beliefs were questioned on these weird happenings, only God or a demon can stop the time and possessing a being that no technology can do on a body, unless he had knowledge on the innerworkings of this universe and wisdom in the use of tech and science specilizing a lot of advance physics.

"What…is…that?" That man stuttered to ask by, while stepping forward slowly going towards the entrance

of the building.

What is the anomaly, who is the anomaly? Why rebooting the system? And how is activating the first scenario connected to the anomaly? When did the anomaly appear? What is added? What is the system?

All of these questions rang to him as if he was on a puzzle quest in a virtual reality game back on his planet. The loud synthetic voice was making Shem to intuitively thought more and recall something he has heard before and yet unable to find that memory, even accessing his massive memory bank, it was still useless.

This man is our Protagonist Shem Abeles the poor guy who was pulled in to this world. He was very confident sometime ago but now he was push down to the brink of unable to think thoroughly on this event that his AI kept adjusting his hormonal levels and heart rate. The ghouls he had captured was now long gone leaving no traces of their being, even the bended metal to restrain them was never to be seen.

"…" A memory then slips into his mind answering his question of the familiar voice that resounded to Shem's presence.

"That's not possible how's that thing, ended up here? The man asks while moving forward looking for the light in the dark damped place.

[Analysis completed, the phenomenon resembles that of the gateway but the high energy presence's voice is similar to the lost AI of the graviton Bomb back on Mars.]

"That AI got in here but how?" Shem answered Eliza.

Technically, graviton bomb contains the antimatter energy, it was adjusted to just create a disruption to the fabric of space and time, creating a gravitational wave similar to how a nuclear bomb explodes but lacks the poisonous radiation. The rebels of mars contracted the spearhead corporation an arms firm into developing the weapon. They develop the bomb not by their own will and commission but have to do it in order to save their family held hostage.

The bomb is capable of autonomous flight upon its launch and mission brief. An, AI was employed to manage the systems of the bomb even managing the precious energy inside it. During the final years of the civil war the U.N.S.C. military and navy have invaded the Martian soil and among those marines was Shem Abeles.

In a secluded research base on mars they found and discovered a file of research data of weapons schematics and other arsenals being develop that might turned the tide of the war but luckily they were able stop it in its tracks. Among all those weapons discovered, a shocking creation was uprooted, and it was that bomb that can decimate an entire solar system. The bomb that can tap the power of the antimatter the first of its kind the Graviton bomb.

It is shape like a cruise missile with shields for anti pursuit and defense.

The bomb's AI was protecting it during the retrieval and almost detonated on mars. But with the swift actions of the engineers and technical experts among the marines it was hacked stop, although organic technology was present on that Era, somehow the developer of the AI and the bomb's hardware employed a graphene base component for its software's to function and its AI to manage.

Upon its hacking the AI suddenly release some of its stored antimatter energy killing almost all the marines who invaded the research facility but it was stop as the hacked successfully infiltrated through its systems. Then, the bomb was reengineered to become the engine of the warship class destroyer Bakunawa, because of its schematics functionality in FTL theory.

The Weapon opened the age of man in to the realm of traveling faster than light, reaching the distant places throughout the galaxy in a matter of seconds or days.

Suddenly, after all the time of its captured, the AI of the bomb vanish and left a conspiracy that all people could ever search.

[I can only provide small analysis data of the being as it is beyond the sensory techs employed by the partner to analyze. We should not accept the hypothesis base on the voice patterns, gathering more data of the being by enhancing our capabilities is the most appropriate move we should take. Advising the partner to take rational decision in this event.]

"You're right Eliza I have survived many odds and perils during the war this event doesn't even compare to all my missions. But, I mist say that we need to careful for now on and find the truth of that one. " Shem strengthened himself and move forward. He had doubts and worries but if he start his move and try to find the truth about that entity who even controls this world and its people, he might survived and go home from this infested ghoul world and try to remake this world as a better place with his techs maybe in the future.

[Shem unidentified organism detected. Moving at 1 meter per second lock to your position, advising the partner to take precaution.]

A Sudden news resounded to Shem's mind as he plans his next move in this world he decided to take this event more seriously. He considered its inhabitants and his home but was cut off by a sudden intrude of an unknown being.

"My-my what have we here, a thief or a ghoul?"

A middle age security guard was running towards Shem with a serious face that found its prey. He stops in his track as he reaches his destination and saw his suspicion. This security guard was patrolling the area and suddenly felt a presence that should not belong on this building. Because of the accumulated experiences possessed by the old man he was able to instinctively react and find that anomaly in this private property he is guarding.

"…" Shem just looks at the security guard with seriousness as if anger and blood lust was activated as the old man look at Shem's eyes.

"Oi, brat did you read the sign outside no 'trespassing private property'." The middle age security guard said.

With a deep sound of his question.

"Did that entity sent you here to kill me?" Shem asks seriously.

"…"

As far as Shem can remembered he was sure that no one occupies or guards this factory complex anymore. His AI proved that premise during the scans when he landed in the place. This middle age Japanese should not be here talking to him, there should be no one here.

Our protagonist concludes that maybe the entity played him again, enough is enough for Shem, his beliefs of what had happened earlier inspired him to take this person as a potential puppet and threat from that entity.

The Sunlight of the morning came in slowly.

The sun then arises in the horizon illuminating everything that Shem is situated in, he then adjusted his vision from the dark scenes to a light one. The furrowed brows and serious eyes of the security guard were both seen by Shem making him cautios enough. And then, the security guard pulled his New Nambu M60 revolver out and pointed it to Shem in a distance of two meters.

[A foreigner? Entity?] The security guard was also confused on the sudden words uttered by Shem.

He then dismisses it to notice that Shem knows Japanese for a foreigner.

"Oh, your nihongo is fluent very good, it will be easy to talk this out ahem… what nonsense are you spouting brat! What do you mean by entity and killing you! Are you out of your mind! You are now in a restricted area. The man shouted as he confirms that the foreigner knows his language. The security guard was seriously pointing his gun towards Shem.

"Stop spouting some innocent words to me you fucking guard, I know that the entity is in you, hey come out!"

Shem shouted unafraid and made a move through his words.

[Disrespectful foreigner did his parents teach him some good manners. This young man really is out of his mind. Or, maybe I am facing a ghoul right now.]

The security guard pulled out his gun even close and aimed it to shem's vital body part. He is guessing a lot of things from Shem such as a ghoul or a crazy man roaming around suspiciosly in this factory complex.

Shem then notices that the security guard was holding a revolver loaded with a specialize bullets.

"Wait that gun." As he look to focus his gaze towards the revolver. He scanned and found that the bullets were full of rc cells' essence.

In the world of Tokyo ghoul every uniformed men is equipped with a sidearm that has rc cells bullets loaded to them in case that they might met a ghoul in their midst and line of duty.

They had to fight it out and Of course every company in Japan employing the security guards in protecting their assets is readily equipped with this weapon. They must have this gun loaded with rc bullets to fight any Ghouls trying to make their property as the hiding cantina for these ghouls when they finish hunting outside and starts to eat their ration.

Or, protect it from making their asset becoming the nest of any ghoul gangs.

This corporations and companies do not want that to happen in their properties but alas some do that. Unless, a company asset is owned and manage by a Ghoul itself.

"The flavors of this world are impressively well done you fucking entity." Shem spouts out another word in order to incite the entity to get out from this security guard. Readying all the weapons he had in case the Entity comes in. If it is just an AI or something he ia ready both in the real situation or in the virtual world.

He is confused whether to call the transcendent being as AI or entity due to lack of information but he decided to call it an entity rather than the former. Shem does not want to bad mouth his AI by saying AI all the time. But, his beliefs of its voice connected to how the entity resembles that from the Graviton bomb AI made Shem doubt because of like we said information. Before we judge we need to hear or feel the sides of the two coin.

"Oi, Brat stop acting innocently and shouting words only a crazy person will do. Just stay down will you so that this bullet will not go inside your head." The man ignored Shem's crazy words.

The misunderstanding of the two person grew and because of that Shem did chose an unthinkable decision.

"Eliza, I am going to kill this man. Seriously, I don't want to be played again." Shem resolves to just kill this man and maybe that entity will come out. And try one more talk or fight it out of whatever conventional method.

[ Shimatsu Shiro, 49 years old, security guard of Adelmo Pharmaceuticals Japan branch, father of 3 college students, spouse of Shimatsu Reiko, Home Nerima district. Advising the partner to rationally analyze the situation, I seem to have observed that the inhabitants of this world know nothing about the Entity and the entity did not have its presence here. It is unlawful and unjustifiable to just kill him. He has a family Shem.. ]

[But that thing can control people we are not safe anymore, me and our weapons can't even maybe scratch on that entity.] Shem said in his mind as a rebuttal to Eliza's premise.

The AI Eliza carefully brief Shem enough to guide him to think and be more rational in his approach in dealing with this arising problem rather than choosing a verdict without facts. It seems that Shem has overly interpreted everything in this world as an enemy and the play ground of that entity.

He is so immersed to that beings origin and lore that he has lost his good train of thoughts as he move through this and talk to the guard.

Shem announced before that he wants to help the inhabitants of this world like the parents of Hinami and the others whether humans or ghouls alike. Now that this entity suddenly came in, it grew more to Shem's heart and mind to really make a step and revise some of his plans for this world's inhabitants and his probable escape.That thing who can manipulate time and space is a very example of threat.

And, Shem never likes to have a threat in his way he wants to be in control everytime now that he went in this world.

"Oi, brat I see that you're not taking any words from my warnings. Are you not afraid of death? Or maybe you are a Ghoul waiting to taste this juicy meat I have?" The man never back down and sarcastically spout words while pulling his bicep muscles to incite Shem.

The man never let his guard down as he pointed his gun to Shem misunderstanding that the foreigner was a Ghoul.

Then, the old man started to talk again to shem with deep and seriousness in its sound.

"I know, I'm weak than you but don't be mistaken. I have taken down ghouls before in this building. This is a private property of the Adelmo family owns and not by you. So, I am not afraid in killing you down here just like the others you piece of shit!"

The man is actually afraid inside but it his Job to protect this place. He is an employee of the company that pays him in order to feed his family. He should be doing more in his job.

Obviously, aside from thieves why would a 'foreigner' with a motif of a space marine uniform go to a secluded place like this? They should go to Shibuya or whatever place that host the animecon. The nearest answer to this is that they are ghoul, just like the manual read by this security guard when he was on training back in the day. These ghouls have specialties and fetish in their activities and cosplaying is one of them.

Shem then moves slowly to get outside the building and activate his camouflage to escape the place. He is somewhat opened by Eliza that his delusions have overtaken his thought process and it resulted to him talking nonsense about the Entity on the face of the security Guard. He had now read the context and embarrassingly understood the situation nullifying all things he was thinking earlier. The plans on dealing the security guard by killing was completly forgotten by Shem.

Step.

"Don't you ever step out to me or I will shoot you!" The Guard move forward to Shem readying his handcuffs to try capturing Shem and interrogate the foreigner. As he has a lot to think on how, did he get in the building with its high walls and secure wires.

"Sorry about this sir, I really got lost." A stupid word was thrown by Shem to the Security guard. It was the only thing that Shem can think of in delaying this adversity. The words Stopped the Guard midway in reaching him.

Shem can escape easily but he didn't want to attract suspicion. If he go out right now the security guard will surely report him to the CCG as a new ghoul and have his face drawn and posted to the website as a ghoul with a bounty on his head. If he kills the man he will be making a family grieved again so its a big no.

Just surrendering sometimes and plan the next move like the joker in the batman movie did. Everytime batman captures'the joker he was just lock in prison regardless of whatever crimes and many killings he did, he is just lock in prison and was not even sentenced to a death row. Then, the joker finds a way and escape to rake a havoc in the Gotham city again. Shem's plan was exactly like how the Joker surrenders and went to being lock away, only to get out and plan the next move. Human rights and money can also be used by Shem to escape the violation of the japanese law.

"Lost? Oi, Brat don't you lie to me, by that façade innocence. I know you are a ghoul, aren't you? ." The man close in and pointed the gun to Shem.

"Sir, I'm not a ghoul really! I'm just lost and tried to sleep here. I really am just a simple human guy not a ghoul. Look I did not have my money and my phone so I found this place and tried to enter here to combat the coldness of the night. " Shem answered a lie. While turning around and showed that he is harmless.

"Oh? With those high walls you climbed it? " the man lit up his interest and a little bit decided to let go of his caution.

The guard put away his revolver and safely secured it in his utility built.

Nod.

[Thank goodness the lie made it.] Shem muttered in his mind.

"But, you're saying some words that are out of place, its a bit suspicious tou know and how end up here in this factory." The guard then push himself in and checked Shem out. Checking every part that may hide weapons or indication that Shem is a ghoul. "Are you perhaps a just cosplayer kid in our country. " The man questioned. While checking all the parts of his body.

"Ah,Yes, got here in Japan recently."

The security guard believed what shem has to say. The guard understands this situation even if he goes to other countries and somewhat lost in their he will sleep everywhere and finds a warm house while waiting the night and go to the embassy to ask for help the next day.

"My bad ok 'sigh', now sir foreigner you are a South East Asian am I right?" the guard ask looking to Shem seriously he has seen a lot of faces like Shem, coming here either to work or have a vacation.

Nod. "Yes sir." Shem answered with a puppy eyes.

"Sigh. You got me there kid, I thought you were a ghoul. But, sorry rules and laws are needed to be followed, we Japanese love the rules so you need to come with me on the local police department. We will have your name recorded and face some small charges and fines is that ok? I will never put bad words from you so just follow the rules again next time will you."

The old man said promising Shem of just making him pay the fine after Shem got his money and wallet.

Nod. "Yes Sir."

"Ah, By the way when did you come here?" as the guard proceeds to walk out from the building.

"Yesterday Sir, July 4, 2014." Shem answered the release date of the anime to have his fine cover and disguise. It was also the date that he was sent in this world.

"Huh? What the heck are you saying kid. The year and the month to date is January 14, 2011." The man stopped and a suspicious feeling grew as he turned his head to look at shem.

"What do you mean sir?"

Shem look back and reacted to the guards comments.

[We got back in time Shem, My atomic clock is readjusting. ]

Eliza supported the guard.

The city was bustling with crowds of people celebrating the nice winter season in Japan. The year was 2011, Shem Abeles was sent back in time 4 years before the start of the anime series.

The two person in the building was confused to each other as the foreboding date was said by Eliza and the Guard. Shem drops to his knees and look straight to the eyes of the guard. Wanting to really just jump out of here and fly to the ends of the sky.

[What in the world.] Shem stated in his conscious mind. [...is really happening.].
