Strange Sightings

PROLOGUE

Light is said to be born from darkness and darkness is said to be born from light, it's a balance that must be kept, long ago there was a war that occurred in ancient Japan, the war was said to be caused by a dark samurai who tried to rule over Japan. After many years of terror and destruction, the gods heard the people's prayer and provided them a hero that stood against the dark samurai and destroyed him, he was eventually killed and burnt and his ash was poured in the sacred river. The warrior that killed the dark samurai named this river 冥界の死(Meikai no shi) meaning death of the underworld.

And since that day japan never suffered from major threats and the ray of hope was once again cast upon the people , or that's what we thought.

                             CHAPTER ONE:

                    THE KILLING INCIDENT

It was late at night, a tall male figure with spiky red hair and red eyes was seen holding a bag of groceries and entered a small apartment, he then dropped the bag of grocery on a table and turned on the TV.

    Two news anchor were seen having a conversation on the TV, the man on the left who was the news anchor was dressed in a black suit and the other man on the right who was the guest was dressed in a black attire that resembled that of a detective, the news anchor then told the guest

 Mr. Daisuke .... what do you have to say about the recent killings going on around the 9 regions in Japan

The TV guest who seemed in his mid-40s then brought out a pack of cigarette and a lighter, he then lit the cigarette, smoked and replied the news anchor

 The recent killings that have been occurring have been put into consideration and the police are currently looking into it

The news anchor then asked the detective

Why does it seem like the police are not doing anything about killings?

The detective then replied

We don't plan on disclosing our plans to the general public

The man with the red hair and red eye then turned off the TV and said

What the hell is with television these days all they talk about are irrelevant things.

The next the guy in red hair and red eyes was going to school and he suddenly heard someone loudly calling out his name, he then turned and saw two of his childhood friends running after him, the person on the left was a girl with blue hair and the person on the right was a girl with yellow hair. The two of them started shouting out his name more furiously than before as they were approaching him.

Kazuki!! Kazuki!! Kazuki!!

Kazuki then stopped and waited for them to catch up to him, as soon they as they caught up to him Kazuki said

Why the hell were you guys shouting out my name?

The girl with the blue hair then said

Kazuki why didn't you wait for us before leaving?

Kazuki then said

Hina when have I ever waited for you guys before leaving

The guy with the yellow hair then said

It's true, we were always the ones waiting for him

Kazuki then said

Kenshin if we keep talking we are going to be late

The three of them then walk off to school together

Meanwhile in the police headquarters at Tokyo, some detectives and officials were seen entering the main building. The detectives then entered the conference room. A man in his mid-50s then walked in and said

Good day everyone

Everyone then responded

Good day sir!!

The man then said

Before I begin I would like to introduce myself, my name is superintendent-general Kishimoto Sarutobi

The man then said

Let the meeting begin

The room then turned dark and the projectors turned on

Chief Sarutobi then went ahead and said

I'm sure you all know the reason this meeting was called

Everyone then replied

Yes, sir!!

He then said

Without wasting more time let's get down to business, the first killing incident was recorded on the 6th of June 2031, that was about 4 years ago

He further said

When this incident happened it was recorded as a case of homicide

The chief then pointed the remote to the projector and a new slide came on, Chief Sarutobi then went on

But as you can see in the pictures displayed, the killing incident started to spread across the 9 regions in Japan, and the most surprising part is that a sign was left on each victim

Someone in the conference room then said

It's amazing that you were able to notice it

The chief then went on and said

I sent out an investigative team to check out what the signs meant, but we got to a dead end

The police chief then pointed at someone in the room and said

Lieutenant Ichinose Akihiko, please come forward

A man then stood up from the crowd and walked towards the stage, he was an average height man that had a black hair and dangerous eye, he then got to the stage and said

Thanks for having me chief

The Chief then said

Lieutenant Akihiko please tell us your observation

Lieutenant Akihiko then said

As you can see in this image the places where the killings occurred are around the 9 regions in Japan, what you guys might not notice is that if you draw out the place it forms a sign

The crowd is then seen murmuring

The lieutenant continues

And the sign it forms is similar to the sign found on the dead body of the victims

Someone in the crowd then said

But the pattern isn't actually the same with that of the victims

The lieutenant then says

Exactly!!, and that means that if we complete the drawings we can predict where the next killings are going to happen.

The Chief then turned off the projector and asked the light to be turned on.
