Lawsuit

Xyleria who managed to rest after taking sleeping pills, woke up when her phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hello, am I speaking to the mother of Liam?"

Xyleria looked at her phone and answered back "Yes you are. Is there something wrong with Liam?".

"There has been a situation, another boy was injured because of your son according to CCTV. We need you to come down, as the boy's mother was not giving up unless your son kneels and apologies."

"Alright, I will be there soon. How is Liam doing?".

"Erm... He wants to be left alone."

Xyleria quickly got off the bed and drove to Liam's school. Upon arriving at the school gate, there was a teacher waiting for her.

"Are you Liam's mother?" asked the teacher.

"Yes, I am. Where is Liam?".

"I will lead the way."

Soon they entered the principal office, the boy's mother started shouting at Xyleria. "What did you teach your son? Causing someone else's son to fall and get injured."

Xyleria looks at Liam who was avoiding eye contact. She went forward and said, "Are you okay, are you hurt anywhere?" Xyleria saw Liam's arms were bruise and the uniform had footprints, she quickly checks under the uniform. Well, the uniform did the job to protect him. She pulled Liam to her embrace and patted his back, Liam started tearing up and cried softly.

The patched-up boy looked at the woman who was said to be Liam's mother was beautiful and pretty, and then look at his mom who was fuming for no reason. "Shouldn't you ask my son, whether he was alright? Indeed, like mother like son ignoring what is happening".

After Liam calm down, the principal brief Xyleria was had happened and showed the CCTV recording to justify the current situation and explain that the CCTV stopped working after the incident happened.

"So, how do you guys want to settle this?" asked Xyleria.

"I want your son to apologies to my son on his knees or else I will file a lawsuit." Said the fuming mother.

"Ok, go file it then. I will see you guys in court." Said Xyleria as she carried Liam.

The principal was confused and asked "You guys as in the son and mother?".

Xyleria looked at the principal and said "You as well."

The principal was shocked and asked why is he being sued. The mother was also shocked when she was fine with them being sued. Xyleria who was fixing Liam's hair said "For lying, Liam will not hurt anyone, not only is one student is injured the other is also injured but no one attended to his wounds. I need to go fix my son's injuries. Where did his injuries come from? It can't be he fell and get footprints on himself, can it? The video you showed was not everything, the CCTV that was working perfectly fine, broke suddenly? Don't talk nonsense to me. It's not going to work."

The principal and the so-called victim's mother looked away. "I also want to solve this peacefully, but the adults keep poking into children's problems." Xyleria looked at the boy who was blushing at her asked "Can you tell us what happened?".

"Yes. But can I have a hug?" said the boy. Liam who heard what the boy said shook his head no to his mom.

"Hugs are exclusive to family only, but you can have a handshake." Said Xyleria.

Soon, the boy explained what happened, his mom and principal turned pale. The boy wanted to try to be friends with Liam but it failed badly and was embarrassed by his so-called friends and classmates. Out of anger, he wanted to push Liam but end up falling instead, to prevent himself from a second embarrassment he accused Liam of pushing. And his friends started hitting Liam. But as soon as the situation escalated his friends who did the deed pushed the blame to him. Realizing that his friends abandon him, ashamed that he blamed Liam for no reason.

The boy started crying as well, walking towards Xyleria and held her pants and apologies to Liam. Xyleria put Liam down, Liam faced the boy and said "It's okay, sorry I wasn't answering you. I was not used to talking to kids of my age." And hugged the boy. After they made up the boy said "Will you be my friend, my name is James?".

"I never had a friend before, if it's okay with you. I am willing to be your friend. My name is –".

"I know your name, it's Liam, right? You are quite well known. All the girls like you, but after this, I am not sure."

Xyleria was amused that her son was popular. What about Sora?.

The principal quickly ends the conversation and sent everyone on their way. James's mother ran out fast with her son in tow. The principal rubs his hand together and asked: "Since the problem is solved there will be no need for a lawsuit right?". Xyleria carried Liam who was sleeping after crying walked out of the office ignoring the principal.

It was 4 pm when it ended, she put Liam on the child seat in the car and wait for Sora to appear. Not long the school bells rang to indicate the end of school. The class was dismissed and parents were waiting for their child. Xyleria spotted Sora surrounded by boys and waved her hand when Sora saw her. Sora bid farewell to his classmates and ran towards Xyleria.

"How was school?" asked Xyleria.

"It was fun. I made a lot of friends." Said Sora. Not long a group of boys came up behind Sora and greeted Xyleria.

"Hello! You must be Sora's mom. We are Sora's friends!" said one of the boys.

Amazed at son's popularity among the boys. She smiled and said "Thank you for being friends with Sora. Come over to play at our house sometime." The boys blushed when Sora's mom smiled at them. "We will take good care of your son." And they went their separate ways. Sora realizes that his mom might be popular if she smiles at other boys. He quickly asks Xyleria to enter the car, and also asks whether Liam has arrived.

Xyleria opened the car door for Sora to enter, Sora saw Liam sleeping at the child seat. He climbed in, while Xyleria secured him to his seat beside Liam. Xyleria started driving off back home.

Sora who was resting at the back asked "When did you get a child seat? And why is Liam injured?". Xyleria who was driving said "He had some trouble, but it fine now. And Butler Kei prepared it, I went home to change. He said it would be safer for you two." After a while, "Sora, you are starting to speak more fluently and curious." Said Xyleria. Sora quickly looked outside and said, "Is that bad?".

"No, nothing bad. It's a sign that you are learning. It a good thing to be curious and constantly learning." Said Xyleria.

Soon Xyleria and the two boys arrived home.
