Gaiyin placed a beast skin directly over his head, and presented the backpack to Su Tang like he was presenting a treasure, "Guess what I found?"
Su Tang peered curiously inside and was surprised to see a whole basket of Gugu eggs.
She cheerfully accepted the basket, "Where did you find these? Weren't all the local Gugu beasts wiped out?"
Seeing Su Tang's bright smile, Gaiyin started to relax, a near-invisible smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
"Gugu beasts are very smart, some of them managed to hide away. The heavy rain destroyed their nests, and I stumbled across them! I didn't see any Gugu beasts, just these eggs. So, I brought them back because I knew you'd like them!"
Su Tang looked into Gaiyin's eyes, a sincere smile stretching across her face, "Thank you, Gaiyin."
During the dark hours before dawn, Su Tang sat on the bed, lost in deep thoughts.
