Chapter 244 Turmoil

At this point, Maitreya finally ascended to Buddha's position with the support of four Bodhisattvas, ensuring that the Buddhist Sect avoided an internal conflict.

This temporarily suppressed the internal strife, and of course, for the future of the Buddhist Sect, Maitreya made a vow in front of the various Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to not interfere with the ascetic monks.

Watching the receding figure of the ascetic monks, the newly appointed Buddha sighed gently.

Yet in his heart, he thought, "This is perhaps for the best. Although I cannot harness the power of the ascetic monks, I also no longer have their restraints."

Of course, these ascetic monks did not leave empty-handed; before they departed, they copied scriptures and took a batch of the Buddhist Sect's magical treasures. Their intentions were to prevent the Buddhist Sect's extinction and to have the chance to rise again from the east if necessary.
