Prelude

"Surrender!" He demanded.

"You're crazy!"

"Give up, Avalyn!!!"

"Not even in your dreams…."

"Damn!" He uttered frustrated. Then his arms tightened around her body, and Ava gasped for air. "Damn it, touch the mattress, Ava!"

"Don't call me that!" That was reserved for her friends. Thinking like that, Ava pushed him.

How had it come to that? Ava couldn't think much at that moment. She just knew that she wouldn't give up like that even if she had to end up fainting in the middle of combat practice, right in front of everyone in senior year!

Then, Jensen did something that almost made her crawl out of her skin. He kissed her!

And that was it! Ava hit the mat in surrender.

Instantly, the crowd began to murmur.

Oh, my God!

Jensen immediately let go of her. So, seeing herself free, Ava attacked him again.

"How dare you?!" She hissed.

"Let everything be for victory, my dear archfiend!"

 That was it! Ava moved with all the strength of her muscles and punched his perfect nose.

The crowd screamed.

 Ava's hands were shaking. Seriously, how had things gotten to this point?
