The Tragedy That Shaped Me

As I walked home from school, I couldn't have predicted that my life would never be the same again. The sky turned a deep shade of red, and strange orbs emerged from a crack in the blood-colored sky. They floated towards the people, choosing their "avatar" by entering their human bodies. As the orbs immersed inside the people, the people collapsed to the ground.

Panic set in as I realized that I was the only one left standing. I didn't know what was happening, but it was clear that something terrible was going on. I started running towards my house, feeling that this would be the only place I could be safe. But as I arrived, a man with pitch black skin stood waiting for me. My heart raced as he came closer to me, and the moment he did, he touched my forehead. I felt a strange surge of strength filling my body. Suddenly, a window popped up in my vision, and I could see my stats and skills. It was like being inside an RPG game.

I had nothing equipped and no skills, my stats were 14 atk, 15 spd, 13 def, 100 sta, and 150 HP. Then, I looked at the fallen bodies around me and realized I was able to see their stats, too. Strangely, I had better stats than them, with the average being only 7 to 10 max and around 70 HP.

Suddenly, a pop-up appeared in my vision, and I read the words with growing horror: "Kill or be killed. Your first quest begins. You have to kill at least 8,000 humans in less than 3 days. Your reward for completing the quest is one A-tier skill. If you don't complete the quest, you will die. For your first kill, you will get an additional title."

"I DIE?" I screamed, unable to comprehend what was happening. "What the f*ck does that mean? I have to kill humans if I don't want to die? Why me? What did I do to deserve this?"

I watched in horror as the other humans began to wake up. Some looked excited about their newfound powers, while others were clearly frightened. But then, everyone's attention turned to me. another pop-up appeared in my vision. "The quest has now begun. Humans will now get a quest to kill you."

"They what?" I shouted, horrified.

A few people started running towards me, and I knew that if I didn't defend myself, I would die. I had to attack them with all I had. The first person came at me, but I was able to dodge their attack due to my higher stats. With a surge of adrenaline, I punched them in the face and they fell to the ground. A pop-up appeared, informing me that I had earned the title of "Traitor of Humanity" after my first kill. The title granted me an extra 10% resistance against humans

"Did I really kill him with just a punch?" I whispered, my voice shaking with fear. Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized that I was alone in this fight. I had no one to turn to, no one to help me. My life would never be the same again

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the battle was over. I looked around at the bodies of the fallen, feeling a deep sense of sadness and regret, "What have I become?" I said to myself, feeling a sense of guilt and horror.

I couldn't believe what I had done. I was shaking with fear and disgust at myself. I didn't want to be a killer, but it seemed like I had no other choice. My life had become a living nightmare, and I didn't know how to escape it.
