This Hero Prepares To Fight The Demon King’s Army!

I stood in stunned silence upon hearing what Renj announced. I could feel my heart lurch in my chest and my stomach drop. The cold sensation that flooded throughout my nervous system which jolted me back to reality was the only thing that prevented me from falling over.

"Wha-What are you talking about? They're not due for another week and a half!" I shouted. I heard the people within the tent behind me quickly move as they started to bunch at the entrance to listen.

"It's true… or at least, people are saying it's true! We have scouts that have been observing the distant areas as was outlined at the guild, and they reported that they saw an enormous army moving in!" Renj rose up to his feet and stared directly into my eyes.

I could feel my breaths start to speed up. I need to calm down...

"Renj, did they mention how far off the army is? Do we have a time allotment that they've given us for their arrival?"
