When the automatons were activated, they wasted no time going after the godlings. The powerful godlings charged forward while the weaker ones ran away from them due to the sudden attack. Destruction was occurring in the training area.
Aster, also known as Jupiter, released devastating bolts of purple lightning.
Shu, also known as Zhurong, clapped her hands which summoned a wave of flames.
April, also known as Terra, slammed her right leg as three boulders was released from the ground.
Sethos also known as Set crossed his arms before summoning two miniature sandstorms with a glare.
Maskim, also known as Lamashtu, summoned monsters from a different dimension while avoiding the physical confrontation with a smirk
A godling, whose codename is Heracles, sent three automaton across the area with a single punch effortlessly.
A godling, whose codename is Proteus, morphed into a mammoth and slammed an automaton under his feet
A godling, whose codename is Amaterasu, struck the automatons with a shining ball of fiery light
And all of the other powerful godlings were demolishing the automatons who were prototypes made to fight the godlings.
The weak godlings, on the other hand, were being obliterated.
A godling, whose codename is Khonsu, was punched into the ceiling.
A godling, whose codename is Ikapati, was being stomped on the ground repeatedly.
A godling, whose codename is Thor, was holding back against five automatons until he was slammed into the ground.
A godling, whose codename is Nezha, was strengthening his force fields through willpower until it was shattered by ten automatons and beaten him to a pulp in the ground.
A godling, whose codename is Ishtar, was currently being pinned against the wall by her neck; and all other “weaklings” were obliterated by the automatons.
There are some godlings who are able to hold back the automatons and fight them, but they couldn’t hold them forever unlike the powerful godlings. They weren’t strong nor properly trained as them.
It was no different for Ezekiel and Corey. Ezekiel was running around in circles to avoid being caught by the automatons as he couldn’t use his gift much due to his condition while Corey’s gift wasn’t fooling the automatons as his illusion-selves were flickering in and out due to his lack of training.
Ezekiel only used his ability to give himself a jump boost as he jumped away from three automatons until his leg was caught by one of them before being slammed head first into the ground while Corey was slapped across from the training room and slammed into a wall.
There was laughter from the powerful godlings and the Fatherland members, much to their annoyance.
Both of them were then picked up like babies before throwing into a pile of unconscious and injured godlings. Some of them were having a hard time breathing and probably dying, but they’ll live.
The powerful godlings were about to reach their limit, but they were prepared to fight more when the automatons ran towards them. The automatons were then deactivated as the training was over, much to their disappointment.
“That’s enough training for today!” William said. “I prefer to have everyone be physically healthy for the spar later! You, weaklings, will tend to your injuries but don’t expect you’ll be relaxing! No matter how wounded you still are, you will have a spar with your fellow godlings later! It is to ensure you’ll grow stronger than any humans in existence to accomplish our ideals! Praise the Fatherland!”
“Praise the Fatherland!” All of the powerful godlings saluted proudly while the weak godlings saluted with a dying tone.
Ezekiel groaned before helping Corey stand up, “You okay?”
Corey coughed blood before wiping his mouth, “Never been better. We would’ve been killed if we were ordinary humans.”
Ezekiel nodded, “Definitely. They are not holding back on us because our body is seemingly indestructible, but they’re expecting too much from us.”
“If we weren’t born as godlings, we wouldn’t have suffered from this… this… hell.” Boris was on the verge of tears while his wounds were slowly regenerating.
Boris. His codename is Boreas, named after the God of North Wind from Greek mythology. His gift is called Anemokinesis. He has the same ability as Ezekiel, however, he can only manipulate air on countries that are in the northern hemisphere. Considering they’re in Russia, he could use his gift but he also has the same weakness as Ezekiel which is the lack of air in his oxygen.
Torvald spat out a huge amount of blood before standing up, “Yeah, this isn’t meant for us. Our powers aren’t meant for battle, especially when my gift doesn’t work properly. Thou lightning is weaker than Aster and thou strength is lesser than Alcaeus.. I mean… Heracles.”
Torvald. His codename is Thor, named after the God of Thunder, Lightning, Storms, and Strength from Norse mythology. His ability is called Fulgurkinesis, which is a similar ability to Jupiter. The difference, however, is that he couldn’t control the lightning whatsoever. All the lightning does is cover him briefly whenever he’s in distress, nothing more than that. That’s the reason why he’s in C-tier despite being named by one of the strongest deities in mythology.
Also, the godlings must refer to each other’s codenames during their training time with their instructors. That has been the rule since day one.
“Don’t think like that, Thor. You’ll become strong like me someday.” Alcaeus reassures him. He is one of the kindest A-tier godlings which is rare as the majority of them are egotistical, arrogant, power-hungry godlings.
Alcaeus. His codename is Heracles, named after the God of Strength and Courage from Greek mythology. His gift is Supernatural Strength. He is unnaturally stronger than other godlings in terms of raw strength and durability. He is an S-tier because of it. The only who could potentially match him is Torvald if he reaches his true potential, according to himself, but nobody believes that.
Aster scoffed, “Don’t show any compassion and encouragement to the weakling, Heracles. We are the superior godlings. We are powerful. We don’t show anyone compassion. That is what the Fatherland told us, otherwise, we wouldn’t achieve our ideals of a better world by showing compassion and mercy. Do you understand that?”
Alcaeus sighed, “Yes, Aster.”
“You really have to make everyone like you. As expected from a copy of Zeus.” Corey insulted the arrogant godling, which has yet again surprised everyone by his confidence or foolishness to talk that way to the superior godling.
“Copy…? Copy…!? It seems that the automatons haven’t taught you a lesson between us!” Aster unleashed a bolt of lightning at Corey. “This’ll finally teach you, weakling!”
“Corey!” Ezekiel was about to jump in.
Another godling was the one who saved Corey from the lightning blast instead. The godling was fast enough to dodge a literal lightning blast and saved the trickster godling from it. The godling was Kléf, also known as Hermes, an A-tier godling who has Supernatural Speed. He is the fastest godling among them.
Unlike other higher tier godlings, he doesn’t like to insult those who are weaker than him nor does he want anyone to get hurt. He simply couldn’t watch Corey being blasted off by Aster because of an insult.
“This isn’t the time to quarrel right now, Jupiter.” Kléf said before pointing at their head instructor. “Mr. Hudson is currently glaring at you, meaning he isn’t intending the godlings to injure another godling. We have a spar later after all. Vent all of your frustration at that time.”
Aster scoffed, “Hermes, you disgraceful superior godling. Acting like an all mighty hero. That isn't the Fatherland-like attitude you have. Fine, have it your fine. I won’t argue with you because you’re still a high-tier godling. But later, Corey, you’ll pay for insulting me no matter if we’re chosen to fight each other or not.”
Corey rolled his eyes, “Cannot wait till then.”
When Aster sat on the corner with his buddies, Kléf turned around to confront Corey.
“And you, you need to stop picking off the strongest ones. I respect your confidence and bravery, but it is also rather foolish to insult someone stronger than you.” Kléf said before walking away from him. “If you really want to get on his or anyone’s nerves, prove that you’re stronger than you look, Loki.”
Corey scoffed, “Some hero, you are.”
“Let it go, Loki. Be grateful that he saved you. That lightning mightn’t have killed you immediately, but you’re definitely going to be in a lot of pain.” Ezekiel said. “The Fatherland doesn’t tolerate the weak, you know.”
Corey sighed, “I know, Habagat. I know. It’s just… I’m sick of this place… sick about everything.”
