Princess Felissa, having just spoken her question, she stretched wearily and turned to her maids, instructing them, "Prepare me a bath with scented oils and rose petals to soothe my weary soul."
As her maids bustled about, Ser Alanis entered the princess' chamber, bowing respectfully. "Good morning, Your Highness," he greeted.
Felissa, however, was clearly irritated, shooting him a dry, annoyed look. "Leave," she ordered sharply. "Can't you see I am about to take my bath?"
With a calm and collected demeanor, Alanis replied, "Sorry, Your Highness. When you are done, the Queen would like to see you."
Felissa sighed with disappointment. "Again?"
Alanis bowed and said, "I will be outside your chambers. Call me when you are done taking your bath,Princess." Without waiting for a response, he left Felissa to get ready
As Princess Felissa immersed herself in her bath, her mind drifted back to her mother's words, causing her to feel emotionally somber.
After she finished her bath, she stepped out, and her maids dressed her in exquisite and elegant princess attire, preparing her to meet her mother in a secluded and secretive area of the palace known only to a select few.
Meanwhile outside the gilded walls of the palace something chaotic and ominous was about to happen.
........
Starael stood just outside the antique shop, his eyes narrowing as he watched Lucian and his guide, Brendan, step inside the shop.
Hatred burned within him, fueled by the memories of humiliation he had suffered at Lucian's hands. Starael had harnessed the dark powers of the Abyssal Chain, determined to settle the score once and for all.
Inside the antique shop, Lucian and Brendan perused through the curious collection of mystical artifacts and ancient relics looking for the Elusive Arcane Compass.
Lucian, unaware of the impending danger, Had a Locket of Timelessness worn around his neck, a powerful artifact with time-altering abilities, he had just been putting it on all these years without knowing the use of and essence of it.
Lucian asked for the Magical compass, as the Antique shop owner was about to hand it over to him, Lucian already sensing the magical presence in the Arcane compass.
Starael standing outside raised his hand, the Abyssal Chain shimmering with malevolent energy. With a flick of his wrist, he sent it snaking through the shop's window, shattering glass and sending shards of glass flying in the air. The chain slithered silently towards Lucian, a weapon ready to strike.
As the Abyssal Chain drew closer, it seemed to absorb the very light around it, casting an eerie shadow over the antique shop.
Lucian's Sharp and heightened senses detected the impending danger, and his Elemental Magic flared to life.
A wall of flames erupted before him, colliding with the shadowy chain. The intense heat and dark magic collided, creating a chaotic Fiery and shadowy vortex that threatened to consume the antique shop.
Brendan, caught in the crossfire, was thrown back, his scream muted by the inferno and shadow. The antique shop owner, realizing the peril, attempted to flee from the situation but was ensnared by the Abyssal Chain's cruel grasp.
Starael's dark powers were unrelenting as they squeezed the life out of the antique shop owner, leaving a lifeless body on the floor and an Elusive arcane compass beside the dead body.
Lucian's Elemental Magic surged, creating torrents of water and gusts of wind to counter the Abyssal Chain's relentless advance and offensive attack.
Objects within the shop shattered and floated in the air, caught in the battle between elemental forces and dark magic.
Starael, determined to avenge his past humiliation, pushed harder. The Abyssal Chain began to corrode and weaken Lucian's protective elemental barriers, weakening his defenses.
The Locket of Timelessness, still hanging around Lucian's neck, began to glow with an eerie, pulsating light. It was a magical defense mechanism triggered by the imminent danger.
Realizing the Locket's significance, Lucian grasped it just in time. With a desperate thought, he triggered its power, creating a temporal distortion around himself.
Time slowed down, the fire frozen in mid-air, and the Abyssal Chain suspended. Lucian's movements became almost imperceptible as he tried to figure out a way to escape the impending doom.
The antique shop, now a battleground between elemental fury and eldritch darkness, shook under the strain. Tables, shelves, relics and artifacts shattered into pieces as the very fabric of reality seemed to tremble.
Outside, Starael's face filled with rage as he realized Lucian's last-ditch effort. Timelessness, however, came with its limitations, and Lucian could not remain in the temporal bubble for long.
Starael, waiting for that crucial moment when Lucian's defenses would weaken, and he would strike with the full force of the Abyssal Chain, determined to exact his revenge, no matter the cost.
•The Royal Palace of Sibiah•
Princess Felissa, now elegantly dressed and composed, stepped out of her chambers, leaving behind the luxurious scent of the scented oils and rose petals.
Her maids followed her, ensuring every detail of her attire was perfect. She looked grand and ready as she prepared to meet her mother, Queen Amarissa, in the secret chambers.
Outside her door, Ser Alanis, her personal assigned guard, stood waiting, his demeanor respectful but attentive. Felissa sighed inwardly, not particularly eager to meet with her mother again after the previous day's incident.
With a heavy heart, she nodded to Alanis, indicating her readiness to accompany him to the secret chambers.
Alanis bowed in acknowledgment and silently led the way through the intricate maze of corridors that concealed this secluded area of the palace.
The path was dimly lit and rarely traveled, its secrets known only to a select few trusted individuals.
Queen Amarissa had chosen this location to ensure their conversation remained private and very confidential.
As they approached the entrance to the secret chambers, Felissa could not help but reflect on the recent events in her life, from her secret birth and upbringing to her covert adventures in the city of Sibiah. All she wanted was the freedom to be herself and explore the world beyond the palace walls.
Yet, she could not deny her mother's love and concern. She understood the Queen's reasons for keeping her hidden, even if they felt suffocating at times.
With a deep breath, Felissa prepared herself to face her mother and hear what she had to say. Little did she know that this meeting would lead to a significant revelation that would shed a little light on some things.
As she approached the secluded area of the palace where her mother, Queen Amarissa, often held private meetings, a sense of unease washed over her.
The queen had requested her presence once more, and Felissa could not shake the feeling that it had something to do with her recent escapade in the city.
Upon reaching the secluded area, Felissa paused for a moment to compose herself. She took a deep breath, steadying her nerves, and then pushed open the doors with a determined resolve.
Inside the chamber, Queen Amarissa sat majestically on her throne-like chair, her expression a mixture of concern and maternal love.
She looked up as Felissa entered, a small smile displayed on her face. "My dear daughter," she said warmly, "please come closer."
Felissa approached the queen, curtsying respectfully. "Mother," she greeted, her voice soft but filled with curiosity. "You wished to see me?"
Queen Amarissa nodded, her gaze gentle but serious. "Indeed, my child," she began. "I know that these past years have not been easy for you. Your life has been marked by secrecy and hidden truths."
Felissa's brows furrowed in confusion, unsure of where this conversation was leading. "Mother, I am not sure I understand," she admitted.
The queen sighed, her eyes filled with remorse and regret. "I should have told you sooner, Felissa, but there were reasons for keeping these matters concealed."
Felissa, still unsure about what was going on, questioned, "Mother, what matters? and who is this old man I am looking at?"
The Queen, her voice carrying a tone of revelation, replied to her daughter, "This is your Grandfather."
Princess Felissa, her confusion deepening, stated, "My Grandfather, King Theophilus, is dead, mother."
Queen Amarissa, in a calm but revealing tone, clarified, "This is your Father's Father."
The Princess looked shocked, trying to grasp the weight of her mother's revelation. The situation was becoming more complex and intriguing with each passing moment.
