Caishen kept his eyes on Alix who moved around like a bouncing basketball ball, delivering a meal container to everyone in the room. She was from working, had barely rested and she was taking care of his family now. She was restless, he could tell and uncomfortable too.
Still, she had a very kind heart which is why she was here even though it made her uncomfortable. A part of him felt guilty for pulling her into his family drama. This was not what she signed on for when she married him.
"Grandfather, I brought you some light prawn porridge specifically. You should eat some and warm up your belly."
As she talked, Alix lifted the small table which sat empty in one of the corners of the room.
She placed it in front of grandpa Zhang.
"Don't worry, I brought grandma's share too. She can have some when she wakes up."
Everyone else received their porridge in a food flask but for grandpa Zhang, she took a bowl from her bag.
