Happy Engagement!

"Muchen! Who is she?? Chase her out!!", Feng Meng Yao mumbled in indignation.

"Do you know who she is?", Xi Muchen asked, amused.

"Who would dare to make an enemy out of you?", Feng Meng Yao humphed.

"She would", Xi Muchen replied without any emotion.

Of course I know you both have been enemies for nearly 10 years yet you always fail to finish her off as if you both have some lingering feelings. If I act as if I know that, can I still fake innocence? 

Soon, Yu Yan walked towards the pair. She extended her hand with a smug smile, "Miss Feng is just as everyone says, a true beauty."

Feng Meng Yao had no other choice except to accept the handshake awkwardly.

"You flatter her. Aren't you the most dazzling here?", Xi Muchen picked up the conversation.

"Muchen, you have a fiancee now, behave properly, don't let her get wrong thoughts", she smiled and handed over the gift she brought for him which was wrapped, "Happy engagement"

Muchen excused himself from Feng Meng Yao and walked a little further with Yu Yan, "What are you planning to do?"

Yu Yan chuckled, "When you wanted to talk with me in private, I thought you couldn't forget about yesterday's kiss and seeing me today provoked the beast in you to kiss me again but who thought you would be so boring."

Muchen looked with amusement, "You are as poisonous as a snake, do you think I don't know you want to steal her thunder today?"

"Steal?", Yu Yan laughed out loud. "Wherever I go, I own it. Your fiancee is just not good enough to steal it from me"

That was a truth Xi Muchen cannot argue with. She was the most captivating beauty anyone can think of. Xi Muchen has never felt the impulse to be intimate with anyone before except Yu Yan. When he saw her today, he really wanted to press her beneath him, undo every silk that covered her body and watch her unravel her full self as he then let her take control of him. 

But what Xi Muchen also knew was behind her beauty was her vile poison that could poison anyone to death. If he wasn't Xi Muchen, the heir to the Xi family business, he would willingly let this poison corrupt him but pity, he never had a choice.

Everyone's eyes were now on these two who excused themselves. It was a rare occasion for so many people to watch with their own eyes how these two rivals confront each other.

Yu Yan leaned closer to his ears and whispered, "Another gift for your engagement - Pax is no longer the affiliate of Xi family. They will work with my Yu family business from now on. The press announcement just went out, your assistant will soon inform you"

With that she drew back and smiled at him. And Xi Muchen's face turned green in fright. Pax was their associates and biggest client. How and when did this vile woman even plan this.

"Enjoy your night, I'll take my leave now. Your Mrs. Xi is coming this way", she chuckled and walked away.

Xi Muchen clenched his fists with anger and helplessness. One of the main reasons he accepted this marriage was to use Feng family as their affiliates so that he can give answers to the Xi family elders. Much like the other famous families, he didn't have it easy to be the heir, if he can't produce the results, his brothers and cousins who are eyeing his position would easily overtake him and he could no longer protect him or his mother. 

Now the affiliation with Pax failed, this was a great blow. And to add to that, without Pax, he didn't know how he was supposed to handle the Feng's. And there was still the secret investigation.. thinking about all this made his blood boil. 

Feng Meng Yao intertwined her fingers with Xi Muchen, "What happened? You don't look very good"

"Ignore it. It's good that she's gone now", he replied and gave her a smile.
