She is Fine With Me

"Hurry! Move!" After several moments of Lyma trying to wake Katalina up, Jiovanni finally scooped her up in his arms and raced to the elevator. Lyma began calling Jiovanni's private doctor to quickly meet them at his closest residence.

Good job, he thought. Knowing that the hospital would be too far to drive there in time. He knew that his doctor would more than likely beat them there to his residence that was only a few blocks away.

Lyma then called Christian to pull the car up to the door at the basement parking.

The elevator descended quickly.

"Fuck!" Wolf cursed as he realized the elevator was beckoned to stop at the 10th floor. The door opened and there stood a few employees chatting away at the entrance. Their chatter ceased as soon as they witnessed the scene in front of them. Beside them was Richard Gibbs with his secretary.

"Take the other one!" Wolf yelled as Lyma jumped out to press the button to close at the elevator doors. Just in time, Richard extended his arm to stop the doors from closing and attempted to hop in the elevator.

"What the hell are you doing? Can't you see we're in a rush?" Wolf yelled.

The doors closed and they began their descent down again.

"That's my girlfriend that you're holding there. Here…let me…" Richard reached over to grab the unconscious woman from his arms. Wolf rejected him.

"She's fine with me! I'll take her." Wolf held her firmly in his arms with her head, nestled against the crook in his shoulder. He could feel her warm breath, tickling his neck as she exhaled slowly. For the most part she was still alive.

"At least let me go with you."

"Why would I do that?"

The doors opened and Christian was there waiting for them with the back door opened. Lyma hopped in the front seat.

"You didn't bother to go with her this morning either." He shouted over his shoulder as he carefully lowered himself and Katalina into the car.

Richard was stuck there looking at the car as it sped off.

"What's the matter with her?" Wolf asked his doctor.

The doctor was examining her arms at where her veins were.

"It seems as though she had gotten an IV in her arm. She must have recently just been to the doctor's or the hospital. As for what's wrong with her, I can't see into detail without doing further tests, but it seems as though she were just gravely ill."

So that explained why she hadn't been to work for three days. But even still, Richard failed to notify the company as well, Wolf thought. No matter how many times he thought about it, he just couldn't explain why he had such an uneasy feeling.

"Why is she still unconscious?" Wolf asked.

"Oh, she's not unconscious anymore," the doctor replied. "She's just in a good sleep as of right now. I put an IV into her arm because she seemed to be a bit dehydrated, but other than that she's fine. I didn't run any blood tests on her, but we might have to bring her to my office to be able to do so."

"No, that's fine for now. We'll leave her here to rest."

Wolf had brought Katalina to his nearby residence that was located closest to his company. He rarely stayed there, but he only used it for times when he would get out later than midnight. Last night was one of those nights. Instead of having to drive 30 minutes to his home, he would often crash here.

Wolf looked down at the beautiful woman lying in his bed. Her face was far too pale as though the life had been sucked out of her.

The life had been sucked out of her?

That was a good way to describe her recent decline within the company. All the whole, he didn't like it.

Wolf resisted the urge to reach out and wipe one of those dampened tresses from her face. Instead, he backed himself away. He knew he had to leave before she woke up. He always imagined the day when he saw the look on her face when she recognized him as her summer fling.

Today would not be that day.

"Take care of her. I'll leave now. Text me when she wakes up." With that he turned around and headed to the bedroom door.

He stopped just before turning the doorknob and looked back over his shoulder.

I guess we will find out what is wrong soon enough.
