Chapter 7: Potions and Responsibility

1987 December 25thday

After inferring the laws of wandless magic I progressed in leaps and bounds to the point I could move objects from one place to another but still could not form precise movements. It turned out as happened that day I had incredible talent in manipulating light, burning object and freezing them but while I say incredible it was still limited anyhow I had reached my goal and it was the time to learn magic systematically.

So far minus the time I spent doing wandless magic I have been studying for three month. Three month ago after some begging and childish tantrums aunt Olivia agreed to teach me. In these three month under her tutelage I learnt about potions, wizarding traditions, and magical theories.

Unlike what I imagined learning magic was not so easy. Yet with the mind of an adult I could force myself to continue. From all subject that she taught me the most useful would be magical theory I took it very seriously. The book written by Adalbert Waffling was in the Hogwarts curriculum he along Gamp, Quisling and Croaker were the famous ones among many wizards who had written about this subject .

Adalbert ideas mostly focused on magic based on intent and will how they relate to chants basically the foundation of modern magic.

Quisling had a theory that wizards had magical energy within themselves and when most in need one can use that energy to cast spells.

It is worthy of attention that this relates to some of the theories about harry potter magic I had heard but there was one problem with this. The process of accessing it. Accessing inner magic is extremely hard and even if you do there is no guarantee you access it a second time.

So unless a breakthrough in research is made absorbing magical energy in body and using it seems a little bit too farfetched .

My favorite topic among the things she taught me was potions. As professor Snape said it is truly a subtle science and art.

My enthusiasm made it easy to progress in potions but because of possible accidents and the need for a wand aunt Olivia had to be present each time and supervise me.

In response to my request for a wand she said and I quote

"When you learn to have responsibility and do jot set everything in fire you can have a wand"
