Chapter 12: Why magic is so strange?

The ritual was amazing it was truly worthy of an ancient ritual. I had confirmed my talent in the ritualistic magic. I was exited but before anything I had to do something unless I stood in front of a mirror and concentrated till I succeeded now my eyes were black. Of course it was not really black it was just a minor manipulation of light I could not have done this before the ritual but now I could keep it up all day and I still would be fine. Although I had fixed the problem it was just a temporary solution till I found a better solution or an explanation.

That day was one of the best days of my life I used all kinds of magic. Best of all I could see magic. I could confirm Quisling theory there was magic in me and I could see magic all around me too.

My knew found magical affinity and seeing magic made my magic studies experience a huge leap.

It took some time and practice but I learnt how to cast first year spells it was during this time that I realized the role of gestures one time when I performed the hand gestures recorded in book while looking at my arm I could see it was easier to channel magic in that posture. Since I did not have a wand none of the gestures in book were optimal so it took a lot of time to test and create rudimentary gestures for elementary spells and I am pretty sure unless I have an AI or the magical equivalent of it I could not and would never do this for more spells. Despite finding the role of gestures, I neither had time to create gestures for wandless magic and nor the need for it doing it for more elementary spells so I found gestures useless.

It has been some time since I came to this world and honestly I should say magic in this world is strange at least compared my imagination of magic. In the games I used to play and novels I used to read usually fireball would be a beginner magic but here in this world only strong wizards can do it.

In the games the moment you chose necromancer as a job you could summon skeletons as a level 1 but here you needed to be a master at the dark arts and do rituals for summoning them. The only good thing about this world was you do not call the summoned skeleton but inferius.

When I wanted to call the magic in this world weak my world view was once again broken by some capabilities the wizards and witches in this world have. Here any adult can apparate which I always thought should be a high level spell. You are able to use expansion charm to expand the space in a room to a hall. The thing is you are not linking it to another space you are stretching space meaning you are stretching the very fabric of reality.
