Outside

I looked at the lioness as she licked my forehead and motioned for everyone to follow her. I took one last look at the cave before following behind my beastly parent. As we walked I began to wonder about the half and half cub and if it really did have a virus or if it was just seriously deformed.

The cubs wings looked awful as it twists and turns in directions that wings should never turn or twist. As I was observing the half and half cub, I began to fall behind as I was lost in thought. The golden lion behind me noticed as he pushed me with his nose, signaling me to move faster.

I squeak in protest as he did this, but still began to jog up to the rest of the litter. Then something hit me, don't lions travel in pride's?? as I remembered from my previous life that lions were the most sociable of big cats on earth. I began to think about the different possibilities "Where is The rest of the pride? was there a pride to begin with? Are winged lions different from regular lions back on earth" As we were walking, I began looking around, maybe we were going to meet up with the rest of the pride and this will be our first meeting.

I was half excited about meeting the pride, but I did not fully know if there was even a pride to begin with. As we walked we pasted many trees and creature's that were unfamiliar to me. Some were birds with horns bigger than their body while others were walking trees with markings on each hazel or golden leaf.

The other cubs were just as fascinated as I was, looking around at the various different things that they have never seen before. As we walk, the creature's seem to be respectful as they would all either tilt their heads downward ever so slightly or slightly bow before leaving. I soon came to the conclusion that we were famous. As I thought this, I straightened up and pranced forward, showing my graceful and majestic fur coat.

As I was prancing, I suddenly hit something in front of me as I took a few steps back, shook my head and looked forward. I was confused on what happened and then I realized I had ran into another cub. I looked past the cub to see why he had stopped realizing that our mother had bent down behind the bushes and blocked us from going any further.

I looked back to our father as he was doing the same, but pushing us closer together, as to not lose us. I was confused on what was going on as my mother motions for everyone to bend down and be quiet. Soon after I could hear one of the horned birds up in the tree give out a warning call and everything went deathly silent.

For the first time in a while, I began to be afraid as I looked at my mothers face, she was on alert and in a protective stance. My father was using his wings to cover three of us as my mother covered the other three. They both seem to be trying to make themselves as small as possible so they would not be noticed.

I was absolutely terrified as many thoughts began running through my mind " what's going on? Why are they really acting this way? Can they sense something I can't? The Cubs are reacting the same way I am." I Subconsciously trembled as I snuggle close to my father, hoping for protection from whatever was out there.

The other 3 cubs were also huddling close to father, seeking whatever cover they could find. I began looking out, trying to find it so dangerous. I began looking out hoping I could get a glimpse of it and see why they were so terrified. I could see nothing for a while, but everything was so silent I could hear breathing from birds in the trees and rodents in the ground.

I was so scared and wondering why everything was so silent, what could possibly be a big enough threat to silence the whole forest. As I was thinking this, I suddenly heard a twig snap and everybody in unison, flipped their head towards the sound. Sensing danger, my mother tried to curl up even more into a ball than she already was and so did my father.

As the creatures that are causing the deathly silence came in to site, I was shocked. The creatures were humans in black robes with golden patterns all over it. They had hoods along with masks covering their faces and gloves covering their hands. No part of their body was visible as they all walked together, seemingly searching for things.

I was confused at first, but then began thinking of all the novels I've read were humans were powerful beings that even gods could hardly handle. As I was thinking this I subconsciously took a few steps back accidentally stepping on a cluster of leaves, making the loudest crunch sound you ever did hear.

I was terrified as I looked back at what made the horrid sound. Realizing it was leaves, I flipped my head over to the humans as they begin walking towards us. I looked at my parents who are looking at me as they begin to tremble with fear. My parents quickly took action as they grabbed as many cubs they could hold, opened their wings and took to the skies leaving me and the deformed winged lion behind.

They were each holding one in their front paws and one in their mouth as they darted to the skies flying as fast as they could. The humans seem to be shocked at their speed, but quickly took action. They raise their hands and chains came from the ground, wrapping around their legs, their wings and their body. Humans then quickly swing their hand to the ground as the chains pulled the two winged lions to the floor, causing them to crash.

The mother lion roared in pain as she covered the three lion cubs she had with her. She quickly turned around seeing the father lion and roared to him asking if he was OK. The father lion didn't respond as the mother lion begin to worry. She quickly called the cubs that were with the father seeing if they were OK. two squeaks could be heard as the mother sighed with relief calling them over with a soft roar.

The two cubs quickly limped over to the mother as they were covered in blood. Before the cubs reached her, one of them fell over as it revealed a piece of bark stuck in the back of its neck. The other cub turned around to see its sibling lying on the floor, coughing up blood as it shivered and trembled on the ground.

The cub didn't know what to do so it ran back over to the other cub trying to pick it up and bring it to the Mother.
