After getting off the ship, David eventually came across a small market located in the alleys of Valgoor. As he saw a small alley that was bustling with noises stall owners and bargaining customers, he became curious and went inside. This market had many stalls which were selling various items from meat to veggies. Some stalls were selling dried roots and twigs which according to the stall owner were used for medical purposes.

As he was walking leisurely in the market, he didn't pay much attention to his surroundings. His guard was done as he was no longer on the Guda Island. If his guard would have been up, then he would have noticed a young man that came running into the market. As soon as the young man saw David's white color shirt and brown pants, he started running towards him. And before David could anticipate anything, the boy tackled him from the back

BBAAAMM

David fell to the ground hard. He tried to make sense of what happened, but then the boy that tackled him in the first place started punching David in his guts….

David received two back-to-back punches in his gut. His assailant locked his legs with one of his arms and had put all of his body weight on David. Because of this, he wasn't able to move much.

Before his assailant could punch him again, he retaliated. While lying on his stomach, David slammed his elbow on his assailant's head.

POW POW

His assailant was a stubborn guy and he didn't let him go until he had got good three elbow strikes on his head. After getting hit by those strikes, his assailant finally let him go.

David then used his whole lower body strength to crawl forwards. And then quickly he got up and took a look at his assailant. Till that time his assailant also got up while rubbing his head.

"Who the fuck are you" David yelled. As he yelled his pupils started contracting and soon the morphing was completed.

"Your death." The young man yelled back and then he lunged at David once again.

The young man came running towards David and started throwing jabs at him from left to right. The young man's jabs were sharp and precise. Seeing his posture and footwork David understood that this guy was trained. Seeing the precise and concise moment of the young man, made David think about why was this man attacking him in the first place.

He came to Valgoor this morning. No one was supposed to know that he was here. So why was this guy attacking him? He started thinking that maybe Gupalo had a hand in this. But it wouldn't make any sense as Gupalo didn't even know that he was here. And if he really has hand in this then why did he order his man to attack him in the middle of the street? Wouldn't it make sense to deal with it quietly? So why the commotion?

Captain Duffy had already told him that Gupalo doesn't control any part of Faction or Valgoor. That meant that if Guapalo indeed wanted to do some harm to David then he couldn't have done it in the public. He would have done something more discreetly.

David was sure that neither Captain Duffy nor George would have betrayed him. So the question was who or why was someone attacking him? It was then he remembered that he has a power from which he could know some details about an unknown person.

Seeing the status window of the young man, David frowned. He remembered that Dan and Hope told him about the founding families of the Faction. And one of those great families was the Tyrion family. The thing that confused him the most was, what kind of animosity this man had with him. He didn't know anyone from the Tyrion family. So why does this man want to kill him?

The jabs of the young man named James were very sharp, thus David had to really concentrate to try to avoid them or deflect them. Looking at the sharp punches from the young man it was clear that he was trained. So rather than confronting him head-on, David decided that he should waste his energy as much as he can.

That is why he was just parrying the attacks. But till that time James also understood, what this thief was aiming for. He could also feel that his arms were losing their sharpness. So to cope with this fight, James changed his strategy. He would one-shot knock this man out.

As a Rank-2 awakened one, he had a limited amount of mana stored in his body. James had used a significant amount of his mana while chasing the thief. So he had a very less amount of mana left in his body. If he uses all of his mana he could get weakened due to mana deficiency. But he didn't care about what would happen to him. Currently, all he could think about is how this thief stole Tamika's necklace and how he injured her. He was furious because of this.

All James could think about right now his about Tamika and the talk with Marcella. He needs to prove to her that he is not the wasteral that she thinks he is. Thus with amber of anger in James's heart rose to become a volcano.

He pushed all the mana that he in his body. It was then James threw the meanest and fastest right hook to his opponent. The sudden acceleration got David off guard. The punch connected to his left side shoulder. The punch's impact immediately dislocated his left side shoulder of David. It even cracked his left shoulder bone. The punch's power also made the thief fall on his back…

AAAHHHH

David screamed with pain. Till now he was taking it easy on the young man because he didn't want to cause a scene. He knew that he was in a public area, and if authorities found them fighting each other then he would get in trouble. But he only dodges and parries then he could play with his words and maybe get out scot-free.

But then his assailant's punch suddenly accelerated and hit his head on his left side shoulder. And if he is correct then this acceleration could only happen if the other party was an awakened one. David then opened the young man's status once more and saw that he was Rank-2. Previously when he opened his status David, missed the fact that this young man is an awakened one. And this came to bite him in the ass…

James used up all of his mana in the last attack. So he started suffering from mana deficiency. He came down on his knees and started feeling dizzy. While on his knees, he started praying to the great lord Ourobos to make the thief go away. He knew that he had fucked up. His right hook connected to the thief's left shoulder which was not enough to knock him. But he still wished that the thief should stay done or otherwise he won't be able to run after him in this weakened state.

It was then James saw that Lord Ourobos shined his grace on him that day. The thief got up while he was on his knees….

David quickly got up and saw that his assailant was on his knees. Staring at the man, he soon understood that maybe he is suffering from mana deficiency. He instantly recognized his state because while training on Captain Duffy's ship, David himself has suffered from this condition many times.

Seeing his assailant in a weakened state, he smiled. He then immediately open his status menu and accessed his inventory. As a black hole appeared beside David, he didn't waste any second and took out a short sword from his inventory.

He wanted to use the short sword to intimidate his assailant. So with an injured shoulder and sword in his hand, David started moving toward his opponent. His opponent on his knees saw the sword, and the color drained from his eyes. Seeing this David smiled…

But it was then someone came running from the crowd towards them. This time David's guard was up….

"GET AWAY FROM JAMES TO PIECE OF SHIT!" came a girl's voice as she ran towards David. He saw that she had a big piece of rock in her hands and was running towards him.

David looked annoyed as he couldn't understand why so many people are either trying to kill him or trying to assault him…

When the girl came toward him, he easily sidestepped the girl's swing. Then with ease, he slammed the hilt of his sword on the girl's nose and knock her down…
