I watched my husband speak to someone over the phone. It must be work. I continue eating my food thinking about Lorie who came into our shop just recently. What if Davin is on the verge of suicide? I don't want to be with him or to be close to it. It just made me shudder. I shouldn't care, but there's a part of me that wanted to care.
"Okay, baby. Should we finish dinner or go straight to bed?" Luke asked with a grin.
"Finish your meat first." It'll be a waste if he didn't finish his food. He nodded at me, agreeing to it. He sliced it into pieces and chewed it carefully as we glanced at each other while finishing the food on our plate.
After we ate, he reached my hand as we stood. He took me out to the garden instead of our bedroom. He grinned at me as he took me to a pavilion in the middle of the garden. There's a roof and instead of electric lights, there are torches and candles. He lightened two candles.
