Chapter 5

-Minerva-

I didn't face the King and the Queen on my arrival. Instead, I locked myself into my room. Gabriel had been asking me what happened. I can't help those tears fall on my cheek. I don't know why I can't control it. My feelings are just too heavy like I had been crucified on the cross.

He loved her yet he is still sticking on me. He gave me those electric flows all over my veins. I had tried to ignore it and masked it with another expression. I can see and hear him inside my mind when he was talking about his ex-girlfriend, his first love. I can't win over love. The God and Goddess of love just bond our soul to force to love each other. That wasn't true love.

I scream when my heart aches together with my palms like it had been pinned with nails. My rib and my stomach throb and my eyes are burning. I was blind around me but I saw him and Rica on my head. I scream in pain and I run outside my cabin bursting the fire.

'Minerva!' I don't know who is it but I know her voice. 'Minerva!' I fall on the snow breathless while tears keep falling from my eyes. It was warm tears. I clench my hand on the snow while Haney knelt in front of me.

I speak in Latin trying to put a spell around me. So, I am will not able to feel in pain again. But it didn't work. It makes me weak until everything around me gets dark.

Now here I am in the party that the Queen had thrown. Dancing in the middle of the crowd with lots of eyes watching my every move, I tried not to look at where he is. It will only give me pain and not able to concentrate on my art. My dance is near to end then I put a big glow then I disappear from their sights just right at the end of the music.

'Woah!' they cheer clapping their hands. I walk out of the party without anyone knowing.

'That was my cousin, Minerva! She was so talented as you see. She owns that floor for more than four minutes. Wow... she was so stunning on that dress. And her moves are so swift, gentle but boom!' Zoe as the MC said.

And yet, everyone applauded.

I breathe walking to the corridor.

'But where is she now?' Zoë asked. 'Okay everyone, I think we need a break from the performances. Let's have a game!' she squeals. I had stopped walking. I feel bad about it. 'It's for the men. Well, the category is just simple... you have to find Minerva around the castle and bring her here in front of me. Every exit here had been locked. She won't be able to go somewhere but around here. Then you will win the gold ancient dagger.'

Shit! She even used that dagger?! She's insane!

'Now, I guess you know her and what she looks like. She's beautiful like a Goddess with gold hair. Only who wants to abduct her will join the game. So, let's start in five...four three...two...one...!'

I look around then I heard running footsteps. I ran fast out of the corridor. I enter the big door and ran down the spiral stairs. These dogs searching for my scent, so I have to change my scent. Harris and Chase are waiting for me on the door grinning. I saw an armor standing near so I levitate the spear and run to them. I use it as a pole so I can jump high above them.

'Minerva! Seriously?!' they shout at me.

'Minerva's here!' Harris shouts.

I enter another room. Then I look around. There I saw a secret passage. I look for the open of it on the wall. I saw the brick and pull it. The passage opens on the wall and then I enter inside closing it behind me. The passage is dark and I bumped into someone.

'Ow!' he complains. I lift my hand and make a fire. I sigh. 'Hey, why are you here?' he asked. It was just my damn cousin Jack. He lifts his hand and made a fire too.

'Jack, you are not one of those dogs right?' I asked him and he gazed at me puzzled.

'You mean werewolves?'

'Yes, they are chasing me. Zoë put a game and now they are after me.'

'Oh-kay... but it's not my concerns anymore.'

'Don't ever tell them that you saw me or you will die.' I threaten him. He laughs at me and patted my head.

'Don't worry couz. I know our cousin Zoë is crazy, but hey, don't kill her.'

'I need to go.' I pushed him out of my way.

'Take care.' And he laughs.

I ran and ran until I reach the wall. I open it by pulling the brick. Then the wall opens. The room is with lights and I saw baggage on the bed. Shit! I enter the wrong room. I went to the veranda and it was close. I can't even teleport because of my condition and Zoe put a spell around the castle. Shit! I walk to the big door and opens it a little peeking outside.

There's no one there so I walk outside bare feet. I feel cold and I wanted to be wrapped around in a warm duvet. I hear voices on the corridor. I gasped and someone had covers my mouth pulling me inside. I held a strong wrist and was about to throw whoever it is. But he breathes on my neck and wrapped his arms around me.

'Shhh...' he whispered. He closed the door locking it. He rubbed my arms and breathes on my neck to give me warmth. 'You are so cold... I know you can use a hug.' He said in a sexy voice.

I wanted to be disgust with whatever he is saying. I wanted him to be far from me and I wish not to see him anymore. He pulls me and my body just walks with him unconsciously. I stopped and pulled my hand from him. He turns to me puzzled.

'Don't ever go near to me.' I warn him and walk away from him.

'Don't you want to have your gift?' he asked. It didn't stop me from walking.

'I don't give a shit!' I unlock the door.

I gasped when he speeds up in front of me pushing my hands from the knob locking it. I glare at him. His sad eyes look down at me. He tried to touch me but I avoid him like he was some kind of germs.

'Please tell me what I have done wrong.' He begs. 'I can't think of the thing that will make you mad.'

'Are you numb or just an idiot? You are the reason why I am mad.'

'If I am the reason why you are mad, tell me what I did wrong.'

'Simple... you are pathetic simpleton that I have ever known.' I blurted it. He winced at what I had said. It makes him mad that's why he growls. He gripped my arm and speed on the bed as he pressed me on the mattress. I chuckled sarcastically. 'Now you are mad.' I smirked. 'You think I like you? No. I despise you.'

'Stop it, Minerva!'
