MEMORY: The Meaning of Blue (Part 2)

Craving for something sweet, I headed to the kitchen, expecting to find something to snack on. Mom wouldn’t be home this Christmas so my sister was in charge of the grocery list. Knowing Dad, he just probably agreed to whatever his eldest had tricked him into buying. Oh well, it better be good then.

Just as I walked in, I found my sister at the kitchen counter, helping herself to a bowl of ice cream. There was something different about her, and I was thinking I only felt that way because I hadn’t seen her for weeks. Until I noticed fringes swept to the side of her ponytail. That’s it. She has fringes now. Funny how she used to say that she hates them.

“You don’t like this, right?” she said upon noticing my presence.
