Seriously, Again I Have To Run?

After a while I heard it. My worst nightmare comes to life.

She's running, sword in hand, across the barren desert. Her dress tangles around her feet several times, tripping her and making her stumble. In the distance a pack of dogs howl.

The sound of several hundred footsteps closing in on her makes her heart stutter.

She runs for what seems like forever. Her feet are blistered and her body is dehydrated. Her once pale skin is now cherry red.

She reaches to her side to grab her canteen but it's so light that it is practically empty. She swallows the last few drops and continues on.

Her feet feel like lead. Her head pounds like drums from the heat. She is dripping with sweat.

The footsteps march on. Never wavering.

Ashilynn whimpers and collapses in on herself. Without food or water it is pointless for her to continue marching on.
