Chapter 27

They soon arrived over the huge desert that Einar had traversed to get to the kingdom. When he looked down, he could see many small villages, and almost all of them were reduced to sand.

As he looked at all these villages, he could not help but get some bad memories. First, of the village he was born and raised in, and then the two villages he had seen on the way to the academy.

He could also see many small black dots moving around, which he guessed were all of the monsters he needed to kill.

As he saw all of these monsters, he started to release his aura subconsciously. It made most of the students on board the ship have a hard time breathing, even the teachers were feeling a little bit restrained by Einar.

Einar was holding his sword tightly, just waiting to get down there and kill all these monsters. None of the students wanted to get close to Einar right now, as his expression was one of pure anger, and his Aura made all of the students a little scared.

"All right, we will decent here ... Get ready to leave the airship!" The captain of the ship saw what happened, and he did not want it to continue, so he decided now was a good time to decent.

When the students heard this, they all showed different expressions. Most of them though, showed fear on their faces, as they had never fought any life and death battles before.

Some of the students were quite confident and ready to fight though, as this would be a great experience for later.

Einar was the only one who had anger on his face since he was the only one who had lost too much to these monsters.

The ship they were all standing on stopped around 10 meters in the air. "You will have to jump from here, we don't want to have any monsters on board!" The captain said as he looked around.

Einar heard this and jumped off the ship. He was the first one on the ground. There were no monsters in sight at the moment, so he decided to run in a random direction. He could see that there were monsters all around, so he knew that no matter where he went, he would find some.

All the students on the ship were dumbfounded by this, none of them had the courage to do what Einar did. He was even gone before a second person went off the ship.

Not long after he ran off, he ended up in a ruined village. All the houses were destroyed, or at least partly destroyed. the village was usually yellow like the desert sand, but at the moment, it was dyed completely crimson.

there were pools of blood everywhere, bodies, even just body parts somewhere. It was a brutal sight to see. Even the villages he had gone to and saved before he went to the academy, had never been this bad.

He kept going for two reasons, one, to see if anyone had been fortunate enough to have survived, and second, to see if there were any lingering beasts.

After searching the village for quite a while without finding anything, he decided it was about time to leave. It was a dead village, unfortunately, but Einar could do nothing more than revenge for them at this point.

As he started to walk out of the village, he heard stones from one of the brokedown houses move. He immediately went on high alert, as he looked at the ruble. After a few seconds, he saw a human hand pop out from in there, so he hurried over, as this meant someone was alive.

He started to remove all of the stones and sand that had fallen on top of the person.

When he finally got all of the stone and sand away from the person, he saw that it was a little girl around ten years old. She was lying underneath a big man, with massive muscle.

"Oh ... someone ... arrived?" The man sounded exhausted. "Thank ... god!"

As all of the stones had been removed from the man's body, he went off the girl to lay down beside her.

"Isn't that ... great! You are saved, Elise!" The man said with a weak smile looking at the child. "Young man ... thank you! Please save my daughter!" The man stopped looking at the little girl and focused on Einar.

"I will do all in my power to save you two!" Einar said with a gentle smile while patting the girl's head.

"Don't worry ... ARGH! ... about me! I will be a burden on you!" The man said, clearly very weak. "Please just safe my daughter!" He continued while smiling.

"I don't leave anyone behind, besides she needs her dad!" Einar said while smiling a little. "Here, take this, it will help you!" Einar took out a small pill and handed it to the man.

This was a minor healing pill he had been learning to conduct in his alchemy classes. This is one of the few ones who had succeeded, if it could save a life, he would be happy.

The man lifted his arm up, took the pill, and ate it immediately. He trusted Einar, even though he was a stranger.

They waited a few seconds when the man finally felt a warm feeling all around his body. His wounds were visibly healing right in front of Einar's eyes. Einar was surprised at how strong a minor healing pill was.

The man was quite surprised too, as he knew how to hurt his body really was. The cuts on his body were quite minor, but he had many broken bones which healed immediately.

"Thank you! You saved me and my daughter! I don't know how to repay you!" The man got onto his knees and bowed to Einar.

"You can repay me by living a long and fulfilling life!" He said with a smile on his lips, as he looked at the father-daughter pair.

"Another thing, why are you here? this land has already been overrun!" The man said as he looked at Einar with a questioning gaze.

"All of the kingdom's academies have been asked to exterminate these creatures before they spread anymore, so here I am!" Einar said, he didn't bother to tell a lie.

"I see ..." The man said as he had a thoughtful look. "What do we do now then? Is there a safe place my daughter can go?" The man asked.

"I don't know of such a place no! But I will not leave you two defenseless here! You can follow me if you want, and I will do all I can to keep you safe!" Einar said, trying to reassure them.

"Okay, we will do that ..." The man said, "... But I will help you with the fighting, I am no pushover!" He continued as he reach his arm down in the pile of stone. He then pulled out a massive hammer which was around 1,3 meters long.

"Alright, suit yourself!" Einar said as this would make it easier to defend the girl. "Let us set off, we need to find a safe place for you guys to stay!" Einar said, as he moved towards the dessert.
