Chapter 85 Attack!

John stayed up all night playing his game quietly. At around 8:00 am, a knock was heard on the door. John got up and threw his game into his bag before he walked over and opened the door.

Jade was standing there in a nice red summer dress. She smiled and said, "Morning John. I made breakfast." John smiled and followed her to the dining room. They sat at the table and started to eat.

John said, "This is very good, did you grow this tomato?" Jade nodded as she was still eating a piece of toast.

When they finished, Jade made some lemonade for John. Then they walked outside, John didn't forget to take his weapons, they went to visit some of Jade's friends.

They walked for a couple minutes and arrived at another house, they walked through the white picket fence gate. Then walked down a small hill before they arrived at a gazebo, it was made out of birch wood and the craftsmanship really showed.

In the gazebo, there were 4 people, three women and one little boy. The boy was around 11, John leaned his rifle against the gazebo before he walked in after Jade. Jade sat down and John sat next to her, Jade talked with her friends as John and the boy looked at each other. John then pulled out his game and gave it to the kid.

John then watched as the kid blazed through the level. John was watching him play for quite a while, there was some tea on the table, so John helped himself.

The whole day was spent like this and in the evening, Jade and John went with her friends to the bonfire. She had told John that they do it every night.

Jade started to shiver some, so John gave her his hoodie. Jade smiled happily and kissed his cheek. She didn't look at him for the rest of the evening, but she did discreetly grab his hand and hold it.

When everyone left, Jade led John back to her house, and they drank some wine together before Jade dragged John to her room. Jade pushed John onto the bed then she pulled her dress off. Then she hopped onto John, and it didn't take long for moans to echo throughout the house.

The next morning, John woke up and felt Jade's smooth skin on his body. John held her closer, Jade opened her eyes slowly when she felt John hold her. She kissed John's lips, but she felt something. Looking down she saw that John was still inside her.

She lifted herself a little, releasing him, before she lay back down atop him. They lay there for about an hour before they got up and Jade led him to the bathroom where they helped each other clean off. They used wet wash cloths to wipe each other down.

They then went back to the room, John walked over to the room next door and pulled out some clothes. A yellow button up shirt and black pants, John dressed himself before he walked back into Jade's room and saw she was now it a yellow dress.

John said, "Wow! We must be in the same mood, picking yellow together."

Jade smiled and said, "Yeah." She then walked over to John and held his hand. She led him to the kitchen, and they started to cook together. When they finished, they ate together before they left the house.

John spent the next 3 days with Jade, and he had learned a lot about these people. John talked to Amy each day after Jade had fallen asleep and told her about this place as well.

John had been here for 4 and a half days and there was still no sign of those people who made the track. Like, at all. It was like they disappeared.

John was sitting with Jade at her friend's house, today was bright and shiny outside so they were sitting in the gazebo. John and Jade were holding hands and talking with Jenny, Chen, and Issa.

Suddenly they heard multiple crashing sounds at the same time. John immediately grabbed his rifle; John then told the others to go into the house and lock the doors. Jade tried to stop him, but he ran off.

John ran up the hill and burst through the gate. John looked around and saw that the front gate and several areas of the fence had been broken. John saw some heavy vehicles parked; many men had begun to get out.

They were here to kill as John saw them shoot down some people close to them. John immediately ran towards them as fired his rifle. The men began to split up and run in many directions, they threw Molotov's at the houses, setting them ablaze and the people inside came rushing out.

John shot multiple men in the head and the group of guards that were on the gate had finally started shooting as well. People began running to John as he was shooting the attackers. This made it harder to shoot back, but John was highly trained, so he was able to shoot in between the gaps of friendlies in order to kill enemies. The group that came had W's on their foreheads. They weren't organized at all, so when started killing them off quickly and quietly they started to run. The others were also firing as well, they had taken down many of the enemy group.

However, the damage had been done and this place was irreparable. Almost all of the houses had been set on fire and many people had been killed.

John fired at the vehicles as they drove away. When they were out of site, John turned around and saw about 42 people. This was kind of sad because there were about 65 people when John arrived. John saw that Noah and his family were fine.

John then watched as Jade ran up to him and gave him a big hug. Since this group didn't have an official leader, John decided to talk to all of them. Many of the people were crying, but they stopped when John started to shout.

John shouted, "Everyone, can I have your attention?" Everyone turned their heads and looked at John intently. The noise they made was completely gone and they were waiting intently.

John shouted, "This place is broken beyond repair." The people were instantly down cast when they heard this, the gloom in the air was thick like honey.

John continued, "But, I have good news for you. I have a base in Georgia, with strong walls. You can go there, all together."

Noah shouted, "Yeah, I've seen this place. It will be safe there." Many people began to discuss about what they should do and most of them were in agreement to go to John's place. Those who didn't agree were quickly convinced by their friends or family.

Someone asked, "How will we get there?"

John answered, "We have a big truck, we could attach the cars together and the truck could pull them. We have enough fuel to get back. Noah knows the way." Everyone turned to Noah, staring at him.

Noah said quickly, "That's right, I know the way back. Wait, why would I be the guide?"

John said, "Because I'm not going back yet. I need to find those people that attacked. I don't want them to follow us back to our base."

Noah nodded, as did everyone else. John then said, "Alright, you should all pack what you can." Everyone then left, going towards their somewhat burnt houses. As soon as everyone was gone, Jade hugged him tightly.

Jade said, "Can't you just come with us?"

John shook his head and said, "No, but look on the bright side. When you get there, you can see Joey and Cassy."

Jade instantly perked up, as she continued to hug John. She kissed him suddenly and they locked lips for a couple minutes.

Then they went back to her house and packed some of her stuff into her car. Once they were done John drove her car out and went to the middle of the neighborhood to wait for the others. When they got there, Noah and his family were already waiting there.

John handed his rifle to Noah and told him to protect everyone. John then pulled out his radio and said, "Rick, you there?"

Rick said, "Yeah, anything wrong?"

John said, "This place has been destroyed, another group came and wrecked the wall. I just wanted to let you know that you can expect a group of about 45 people coming with Noah leading them. I'm gonna find the rest of the group."

Rick sighed before saying, "Okay John. I'll be expecting them. Anything else?"

John said, "Not at the moment, but I will be in touch within the next few days."

Rick said, "Copy." John then put his radio back on his belt and waited patiently. John and Noah explained more about the place to Jade, Debbie, Mitchel, and Jonah as they waited.

For the next 30 minutes, people kept coming over to them at different times. When everyone had arrived John drove Jade's car out the front gate and to the truck. The other followed him there and when they saw the massive truck with a wedge in the front they were astonished.

John handed the key to Noah, who quickly climbed in and pulled the truck out of the woods. John then had everyone line their cars behind the truck before he attached them together with thick chains.

Everyone helped and they were done in no time. Everyone climbed into the truck except John and Jade.

John and Jade kissed each other goodbye before she got into her car. John made a signal with his hand and Noah began to drive off towards Atlanta. John watched them drive into the distance, then he ran back to Noah's neighborhood and entered Jade's house. John summoned an M1 Garand and three magazines.

John shoved one mag into the gun before he walked out of the house. John shot a couple walkers that we're coming over, then he walked out the front gate and left. John walked down the street in the opposite direction of Noah's gang.

The street had forest lining each side, and there were many hills in front of him. He was headed for Washington DC.
