"I also don't have any skills right now. I should work on getting some since it's vital for survival. It can be the deciding factor in any fight."

"You can only get skills from the skill box that rarely appears on the dungeon or you can get them by researching, repeating, or through trial and error, basically need to work hard. Since I cannot clear the dungeon as of now, I should get the basic skills that I already knew in the beta."

"Huh? There's no information."

"Usually, the question mark means that I am not high enough level to see the content or there are other things that I need to do in order to unlock that. It could be any of these."

He let out a long sigh.

"I guess I can't do much about this for now. On a positive note, it does give me +5 stats in intelligence which means it also increases my mana by 5. Additionally, mana and hp also increases by each level, so that means I can put off investing in them for some time unless needed. Instead, I should save the skill points for the stats that will complement the class I will get in the future."

"I should start making a plan since I have confirmed that most of the contents of this tower are pretty similar to the beta."

He smirked like he had something on his mind.

"Alright. I will first hunt some low-level monsters and then visit the adventurer guild of this town."

Raaf went outside the town and arrived on the outskirts near the forest, north of the town.

"There should be some low-level monsters over here."

Just then as he was scouting for some monsters, a small goblin with a tiny sword in its hand appeared. It was different from the tutorial one, its skin color was a little darker but looked stronger.

"This area should be home to slimes and some goblins made for beginners. So, it shouldn't be dangerous."

"Time for my first true monster kill."

He took out his iron sword from the inventory and sliced diagonally at the goblin.

However, the goblin managed to block his slash and screamed in response.

Raaf retreated a few steps back, "Maybe I should invest some skill points in my strength. Even though I am level 11, I still have a strength of level 1."

"Invest 10 skill points to strength!"

His body briefly glowed with pale blue light. He again slashed at the goblin in front of him and this time, the goblin died without much resistance.

He went into the forest and killed quite a lot of goblins and slime. Both were easily killed by him one by one.

"You cannot just register yourself at the guild by walking up there unlike other games. Here you need to show some proof that you can kill monsters. For this case, the drop items. Only then you can get your rank as an adventurer."

After gathering some more drop items, he went back to the beginner's town.

He looked at the map that was on the display at the central plaza and made his way to the adventurer guild.

"Still the same."

He slightly smiled as he looked at the medieval-styled building with the board spelling 'Adventurer Guild' placed a little higher than the door frame.

Raaf opened the door and the familiar scene unfolded before his eyes.

All the nostalgia hit him, the feeling of being in the ancient era, the noise of people laughing and drinking in the sides, people questionably looking at the job board and the cute receptionist overlooking everything from her front desk.

"Obviously I know they all are NPCs. Out of all the NPCs here, only the guild staffs and the master will remain in the future. In the beta, the developers only filled this reception room for making the atmosphere lively in the beginning. But as the players grew and they started to fill the game, the dev killed off all the irrelevant NPCs in the monster hunts."

He quietly walked up to the receptionist.

"I want to get registered as an adventurer."

"Okay! Do you have some drop items to show that you can hunt monsters?"

"Yes! I have them. Here it is."

He took out all the goblin teeth and slime cores that he had obtained from his inventory and placed them on the desk.

With a little surprised face, the receptionist picked up the items, "Please wait a minute. I need to count the items."

She went to the back room and came back after a while.

"Congratulations! You are one of those rare people who have skipped the F rank and jumped to the E rank. Here is your adventurer card with additional information. It will automatically update your rank in the future as you complete your guild missions. For more information on the ranking and other details, you can check it from your status windows."

"Thank you!"

He politely smiled back and went to the job board.

"Let's see the missions that are currently available. I need to become D rank as fast as possible for me to get that item."

As he was skimming through the job boards, his eyes widened when he took a look at one of the missions available on it.

"This!!!"

He quickly grabbed the mission and took it to the receptionist.

"I want to do this mission."

"Are you sure, you want to do this? While technically you can take on this mission as an E rank, I suggest you take on another mission that isn't hard. You have just started so it might be difficult for you."

"No! I will take on this one."

Raaf persistently insisted and the receptionist finally gave in to his demand.

He became excited, "I didn't think I would be able to find this quest this early on."
