A Guardian

Within the vast expanse of the milky way galaxy is the planet Earth, a planet whose population had decreased by a staggering one billion.

That's right, 800 million humans had died during the last battle, add that to the 200 million of before and you have one billion lives lost.

The condensed energy beam had done devastating damage to the human population as it alone killed 500 million people, the rest could be shared between the casualties caused by the alien when they abruptly died along with the momentary decrease of nova essence caused by the planetary core when it was opening a gap in space to the moon.

The hunters are working with haste to save humans who may have been trapped under a collapsed building or hunters who had critically injuries, thankfully, healing potions had been invented to increase the survival rate of humans.

They were also taking the bodies of the dead aliens along with the destroyed spaceships to study and reverse engineer it to suit human needs.

ON THE MOON

Floating above the moon, is something dark blue with the shape of a human, around it are large pieces of metal of black metal and shining blue crystals.

The mothership had blown up with zephyr impaled in it, immediately causing him to lose consciousness as he began to float in space surrounded by pieces of the ship and shining blue crystals.

If zephyr was awake, he would see his body rapidly stretching as it devoured the blue crystals like a starved beast as the dark blue substance expanded like zephyr's body would burst at any minute, as that was when he woke up.

"Ouch.....what happened? he said as opened his eyes to look at his surrounding.

"Huh? what is this?" He said as he noticed his body glowing in pristine blue, but before he ponder further an intense amount of pain hit him.

AHHH!!!

He screamed at he felt pain in both his body and soul at the same time, the dark blue substance started to become rigid as it receded with white skin taking its place, with his eyes also changing color.

He gripped his aching head as numerous memories appeared in his head about the previous owner of the body, while his body was returning to it's normal form but without any clothes, but something began to go wrong.

His body which had been stabilizing began getting brighter and brighter as it illuminated the surrounding in blue while causing zephyr's body to inflate like a balloon, the energy was too much for zephyr's body to contain, just when he thought he was going to blow-up, a voice rang in his mind.

[Sufficient energy, I will begin the assimilation now]

[Assimilating....1%..10%...20%....40%....60%.....90%....100%]

[Assimilation successful]

[Transferring surplus energy]

As this was happening;

"Huh? what's happening?" hunters suddenly became apprehensive as they found their muscles becoming less rigid, like an invisible weight on their bodies had been dropped, they began to feel much lighter.

Earth's Nova essence suddenly became more concentrated causing hundreds of people to awaken, a blue interface appeared to thousands at this moment, as seven dungeons were created and they were B rank and A rank.

This situation quickly calling the attention of world leader's, feeling energized the hunters became twice as active as they moved to extinguish the smoke trails of the last war.

As that was happening, zephyr's body returned to it's normal state, but suddenly, it began to coalesce to form a pitch-black purplish crystal in his chest and then;

BOOOM!!!

A dark purple like substance suddenly was suddenly released from his body in a circular shape, all lifeforms on earth momentarily shivered as the ring passed through it, as it continued moving on rapidly as it passed through all the planets in the milky way galaxy before quickly surpassing that and continuing onto other galaxies on the outstretches of the universe.

SOMEWHERE ELSE

In a place devoid of sound, movement and everything dark as night, an eye the size of an island snaps open with a look of apprehension as it sensed something that should not have been sensed, it stretches it's gaze far and wide to find where it was coming from, and then;

~Zephyr's POV~

I was observing my body that had reverted back to human form with the dark blue substance nowhere to be seen as well as the memories I Inherited from original owner of the body.

'Huh? now I get his memories? you've gotta be kidding me'

My surroundings instantly became black as night, with nothing in my view, suddenly an unsurmountable amount of pressure immediately descended on my body, and that's when I saw it;

An eye glowing with an eerie purple color and a black slit in between, as I tried to control my heart that wanted to burst out from the fear as I felt his aura, that's when a voice rang out in my mind, but this time, it was far different from the planetary core.

"WHO- NO....WHAT ARE YOU?" The question hit my head like bell being rung, as I struggled to open my mouth.

CRACK!

That was my left leg breaking due to the pressure coming from the eye in front of me, then it gradually lessened allowing me catch my breath, but the annoying feeling I felt in front of it didn't, it was like I was naked, and that's when I noticed that I actually was...."

While trying to cover my nakedness I had forgot something very important, and I was reminded as pressure pushed me down, this time even more than before.

As I noticed what was happening, I quickly shouted;

I'M SORRY!

I had momentarily forgotten about the eye's presence when I noticed my nakedness, but thankfully, the pressure withdrew and then the question came again;

"WHAT ARE YOU?" the eye asked again

"A human" I replied

"Do you think I cannot see that? how are you able to use void matter? it said as the volume of his voice when down a notch

"I- I don't know...."

"Hmm...so you don't know what you are? nor what that is?" he asked me again

"No, I don't" I replied

"But still, this isn't supposed to be possible"

"What is?"

"YOU" he said with his voice rising again

"That power isn't something meant to be wielded, and yet, the universe has acknowledged your existence"

"Wait.. what do you mean acknowledge my existence?" I asked

"You have become part of the void" the eye said

"Wait....the void?....you mean nothingness?" I asked with a skeptical look on my face

"The void isn't nothingness, it is an attribute that most people cannot see, the fifth primary elements, and much more you cannot even begin to comprehend"

'There's a fifth primary element? I thought there were only four' I thought as I heard what he said

"You managed to become a voidbeing yet somehow your also not a voidbeing,"

"You're the first lifeform ever to use the void attribute" said the eye

"So.....I'm like a Progenitor or something?" I asked

"Yes, you can say it like that"

"So....who are you again?"

"I am Inanis, the guardian of the void"

"How did you get here so fast?"

"I'm not here physically, this is but a projection of my form into your conscience, I was able to locate you easily because we're both connected to the void" said the eye

"The void is the line between existence and non-existence, it is the last form anything can take and I am the guardian born from it, but even I can't control it"

"As you are special, you shall be hunted by those who fear your existence"

"This power is both a blessing and curse"

"What do I mean? you shall find out in time" he said, stopping zephyr from asking him any questions.

'A being who doesn't have a fate, things shall soon turn chaotic' inanis thought as he observed the human in front of him, he couldn't help but think of the amusing things to come.

"I will leaving now, as I head back to whence I came, I have stayed far too long already, but I'll leave with a piece of advice"

"Grow Stronger, for I shall be watching from afar" Inanis said as he faded away, with me waking up soon after, my body still floating in among the pieces of the destroyed ship, as I straightened my body to observe a notification suddenly came into view;
