Chapter 6

"I've been wanting to talk to you for a while, Henry. I've come to warn you, something big is going to happen in the near future. Be prepared for anything," my demon says. How can you tell something bad is going to happen, how does he know?

"How do you know this Yamata?" I question. All of his heads smile, a smile that will haunt me for a while.

"Do not question me, Henry, I can still possess you. I'm sure you don't want that to happen, especially after you get a second chance," he threatens. I give him a blank stare and nod.

"Fine, I trust you Yamata," I say ignore his threat. He still gives me that creepy smile and forces me to look away. He walks up to me and whispers, "Wake up, you have someone at your door."

I bolt up with sweat covering my brow. Slowly, I wipe the tiredness out of my eyes and put a shirt on. I take my sword out of the display case and holster it onto my belt. I hear another knock and I slowly make my way to the door. I open it and to my surprise it's Amelia.

"You sure are hard to find, anyways, you and I are going to have a talk. It's more of a request, to put it frankly. I want you to teach me in swordsmanship." She says as she bows her head. I've never taught anyone anything, much less swordsmanship. Should I teach her how Abel taught me? Should I teach her at all? I let out a sigh and draw my sword. "First, raise your head, and second, never take your eyes off of your opponent. The vampires are not honorable at all, they will not hesitate to kill you. Never take your eyes off of them." I pause, "Now unsheathe your blade and come at me." I say. In a blink of an eye, Amelia unsheathes her blade and strikes at me, all of which, I just sidestep out of the way. "You're too predictable, I've already figured out your style. Feint your attacks, don't be afraid to punch them and kick em." I say as she strikes again.

She nods and strikes at my left side. The attack never hits me, instead, I see something coming at me from my right. I drop my sword and block the punch, grabbing onto her I pull her down onto her back and get onto of her, "Sorry princess, you're gonna have to try harder than that." I say giving her a grin. I get off of her and lift her up. She gives me a look that I haven't seen in a while, a look that I haven't seen since Adalia was alive.

I notice that my eyes are watering up and I quickly look away. I clear my throat, "Well, what are we doing today?" I ask.

"Training and you need your uniform. There's also a meeting we all have to attend, especially my squad," She says as she wipes her pants off, "Now let's go." She walks toward the door and waits for me to pick my sword up. I catch up to her and we both walk side by side down the stairs. The roads are littered with people, differing in age. There're some kids chasing after each other playing tag, poor kids will never know the freedom we used to have.

"We're going to the Conference Room to discuss what more the army is going to do with the vampires, but before we do that, let's get you in uniform," Amelia says as we walk down towards the barracks.

---------------

I do not miss these uniforms we have to wear, they're uncomfortable and it restricts my mobility. The barracks are just as I remember them: Noisy and occasionally, there's a dumb ass you wouldn't want to rely on. That dumb ass is named Owen. Owen is that person who lets his ego get to him and is just stupid. I can't really judge him I guess, I used to be just like him.

We're nearing the Conference Room, the one place I didn't miss at all. The last time I was there, they decided to exile me, General Laurence brought it up, they rest of them agreed to it. "You okay?" I turn to see Amelia giving me a concerned look.

"As ready as I'll ever be," I say as I barge into the Conference Room, ignoring the stares by the members. "Let us get this over with, shall we?"

Only reason this is up later than usual is because I got side tracked playing zombies. Anyways, next chapter will be up on Monday.
