1883..... GREVINHALE
"Princess Isobel, Former Prince Phillips has called for you in the throne room, he says it's important as it requires your presence immediately", the maid spoke softly and calmly for the princess to hear and waited for the princess to nod before she took her leave. Isobel had a lot of respect for the man who was her father's half brother. Even though him and her later father King of the witches Daniel shared only half blood he still looked after her even after his death.
She hurried to the throne room to not keep him waiting. The death of the king and Queen had come as a great tragedy to the people of GREVINHALE and they had all been in mourning since then. It was the time the heir to the throne ascended and took over looking after the kingdom and she being the only child of the late King and Queen, the duties of the Kingdom fell on her.
As she walked down the hallway to the throne room which was not too far from the court room, the servants bowed their head in respect not daring to look at the face of the princess. It was a sign of disrespect and any one who dared look the princess in the eye without her permission would be punished severely.
Isobel had pale skin, long blonde hair which was the source of her power and blue eyes. The most enticing witch beauty. The daughter of the most powerful Wizard and witch. But all these charming qualities had been hidden from the face of the earth. Her late parents held too much regard for her beauty and cared about her dearly that she became a phantom, she could only be heard about not seen.
And the servants were too busy keeping their head down to act against the princess. Her life wasn't so strict but it wasn't free, she was restricted and could only go to places in disguise but if her parents were to find out, she went out of the palace, they would punish her guards and replace new ones, they made her life too restricted.
She arrived at the door post and with a touch of magic opened the door with a spell 'Dissera portus'. The guards knew not to dare do that for her, the seventeen year old had made a condition with her parents that if they wanted her to obey their rules, they would have to allow her cast spells by herself, what was the point of learning them if she was never allowed to use them. Who knew the King and Queen would be gone too soon before the little witch grew up.
With her head held high, Isobel made her way to the throne only to stop from the whisperings she heard. Her mixed blood gave her double of everything and it also heightened her sense of hearing. " Why are you demanding to see her Phillips? isn't it pointless for that? For all we know we could just poison her food and pretend that it was one of the maid who did it", a lady said in hushed voices not wanting to be heard. Isobel's face twisted, that was the voice of her aunt, who was her aunt planning to poison, she must be hearing wrong.
" No Felicia, we will draw too much attention if we kill her in the palace, Isobel is the only heir of the kingdom and if something happens to her, the higher-ups might suspect. First it was the king and queen, then the princess, No Felicia think, I have called in a socerrer and he knows what to do", a male harsh voice spoke to the female from earlier and Isobel felt tears gather in her eyes as her little palm went to cover her mouth to hold back the tears and stop herself from making a sound.
That was her uncle, what was he planning to do to her? why did it seem like they were the cause of her parents death? She could be wrong but they mentioned her name, she had to leave here before they found out she overheard their conversation but it was too late as her long princess gown hit one of the knights armor and it immediately made a clinking sound as if shifted out of position. This attracted the attention of Phillips and Felicia who quickly appeared in front of her with shocked expressions on their face, they clearly had not expected to see her.
" How long have you been here princess?", Felicia asked approaching Isobel but Isobel quickly took two steps back from her. Felicia and Phillips passed knowing glances at each other but before they could do anything she immediately used the invisibility spell on herself so they couldn't see her. Now wasn't the time to confront them. It was clear from the look in their eyes that they were barely innocent and Felicia would not hesitate to harm her.
" Come out now, Little Isobel, there's no need to be afraid of us, we won't harm you, we are your uncle and aunt, remove the spell", Former Prince Phillips said in the sweetest tone which didn't compare to the harsh deep voice he used in talking to his wife Felicia just now. But Isobel wasn't even listening, she looked at the two who couldn't tell where she was and feigning innocent and looked at the window, it was worth a shot. She cast a boosting spell and immediately jumped out of the window into the night.
Hearing the glass shatter and following the direction of the wind, Phillips and Felicia found out that Isobel had used the window. She jumped down and she heard her aunt yell out to the guards that an intruder had broke into the palace and it had to be catched. The guards quickly believed it and started to search for Isobel. Even the Former Prince Phillips came to supervise the search. " Search every nook and cranny of this castle, if you see anything inform me", Phillips said and left there back to his wife Felicia.
"All this happened because of you, there wouldn't be a ruckus if you had just kept shut, now Isobel has heard everything and would likely tell the higher-ups about us", Phillips said as he threw a chair across the room. Felicia was panicking, her husband was right. If she had not gone and voiced out her thoughts on poisoning Isobel, that conversation would not have started and Isobel would have been in the dark about it for good.
A thought struck her mind, why didn't she think of this before. Turning around she quickly yelled. " Maid?", and immediately one rushed to take her orders. " Get me a clothing of the princess and bring it here immediately", She ordered for the made to rush out and return back immediately with Isobel's night dress. " You have served your purpose", Felicia said and immediately set the maid on fire till there was nothing left but ash.
" What are you planning Felicia? we don't have time", Phillips said feeling restless. " Phillips, I will reach her by using a location spell, we will be able to catch Isobel and she would have no choice to surrender so let me do my charms", Felicia said and Phillips nodded in agreement, his wife was right. Where can you run to Isobel? A little inexperienced witch like you can't run away from a witch of centuries, he smirked triumphantly.
Isobel ran as fast as her leg Could carry her to the gate of the palace, she had to get out of here. It wasn't long till they would do a locator spell to find her. she was tiring out and her spell was loosing it's intensity. Seeing the seriousness of the guards at the gate she could only calm herself down and hold the pendant on her neck for relief. she slowly walked away, still invisible and none of them noticed. The castle was very far from the villages and all that she saw was land that belonged to the castle.
One of this lands led someone straight away from GREVINHALE and her father had once showed her. She still remembered the route and quickly ran in that direction. She had to get away from her aunt and Uncle as fast as possible, she couldn't let them win.
" Felicia I'm already getting impatient, isn't that stupid spell working or are you doing it wrong?", Phillips asked angrily and impatiently. Felicia immediately stood up from the floor and voiced out " she wants to get out of the kingdom, she has taken the route which leads to the kingdom of those animals, the wolves, we can't let her leave Phillips", she said and Phillips immediately disappeared from there and Felicia fainted, it had taken a lot of her energy and blood to do a locator spell on the silly princess.
Once the girl was caught, she would torture her till she finally learnt her place in the palace.
Isobel finally made her way to the heart of the forest and she couldn't have them following her again. She wanted to end all the ties she had with this Kingdom and probably she would come back for revenge. She imagined holding a knife and suddenly it appeared and she used it to cut her waist length blonde hair to her shoulder length. she cried out because she was killing the source of her magic.
With pain she digged the ground and buried her cut hair before covering it up and just like that, her uncle who was in his carriage coming to get her, felt a short pain in his heart and he immediately fainted, the heir was no more, every single soul would feel the pain but for blood relations, it would hurt more so literally, the pain of loosing the heir hit everyone's heart and they wailed.
Isobel ran as fast as her legs could carry her, she was not sure if her plan had worked but she had to get to a safe place immediately. Flying out of the window had earned her a huge cutting on her fore head but it didn't faze her. She didn't stop until she finally saw a village, couldn't take it anymore, she fainted.
Isobel had a close call, good thing she cut off her hair am I right because now she has misled the entire castle that she is dead and the kingdom
