Lost memories

With this plan, he stirred slowly in his sleep only to find his wife sliding the ring onto his finger. Taking that as a chance, he pulled her closer to him, making her fall on him.

"My dear Fiancee, what are you doing in my chambers? Didn't I just come to your chambers to gift you the necklace for the breakfast?" Zaros said as he dropped a kiss on her forehead.

"What?" Adira asked feeling confused.

"What's wrong? It isn't good for an unmarried girl to enter a man's bedroom," he said with a smirk.

Adira realized he went back to the times of two months ago. Thinking of that… that was the time he didn't wear this ring. So… looks like he lost the memories from the time he used the ring. She signed… she needs to explain things to him.

"My Lord, Two months passed after you gave me the necklace," Adira said.

"This is a nice joke, My dear. Let's get ready for breakfast. And you go and change. If somebody sees us like this, it won't be proper," he said pulling her into his embrace further.

"You smell good today," he said. Adira was in shock.

"My Lord, we are married. It's been a month since we are married," she replied.

After Elphaba left, Adira invited others into the chambers. Eudora and others came into the chambers soon after. When they came Adira started explaining about the forgotten memory of her husband. She mixed her own words and theory from the words said by Elphaba and twisted them into a real story.

"He forgot about things that happened in the past two months," Adira said sobbing like a child. One could say that she loves her husband so much. Well, she was faking it well. She was sad about him losing his memories. After all, no one deserved to lose their memories. But a part was happy that he wouldn't remember how toxic he was.

"What? How?" Eudora asked.

Adira's statement made Eudora shocked. Her son... she doesn't want to lose his memories. There were many things that he needs to remember and follow. His losing memories means... that was a huge loss for her and the kingdom. She specifically made him go through a few things that no mother puts their child in it. She was worried about him.

Eudora was in a complicated mood right now. She has to be a mother and the leader of Vampira at the same time. Closing her eyes, she decided to think about these things later. After all, if he was alive she can do one thing or other to him to recover his memory.

Even elders were shocked at her words. How long memory did he forget was the main question. If he forgets about the memories for a short time it would be good. If he losses his memories in the short term they can try to get them back... but what if he losses memory for a long time?

"It seems like, From the time he started wearing the ring. From then he lost his memories. Even now he was thinking of the next day of your arrival," Adira replied sadly making everyone feel bad. Her words woke Eudora from her thoughts. Eudora was relieved to hear her. Her son only lost memories of the last two months. That's a relief to her. His losing these two months' memories was negligible.

"Also, the high priestess said… that it's a miracle for him to live after all his body went through a few tribulations. She cast some spells to take out the negative mana and energy to bring him back to life. So, he needs lots of rest and shouldn't be disturbed," Adira said explaining half the truth and half lies.

She was given a task or more likely a responsibility. She won't ruin it just because he made her go through something. His kingdom citizens don't deserve to be in trouble because of her petty behavior.

"We won't disturb the king then," the elders from both sides said. They were relieved to have him as a king. Choosing another king was equal to waiting for another few centuries for them. No one was ready to wait for another few centuries to have a king. And it means having Eudora as their Queen. Eudora was known for her harsh rule, she won't let them wag their tails. With Zaros it's easier for them to wag their tails.

"Thanks for the consideration. Due to the magic, his body may undergo a few changes but nothing would happen to him. After all, recovery needs time and rest," Adira added again making them nod at her words.

They went away feeling kind off relieved knowing that he was alive and well. Everyone has different plans, thoughts, and ideas about ongoing situations.

Adira heaved a sigh, watching them leave one by one. There was said to be a meeting for everyone about something but Adira refused to go as she got things to do with her husband.

After everyone left, Adira noticed her husband was thinking something as he looked at the ceiling. Turning his gaze he looked at her intently and with a questioning gaze that made her furrow her brows.

"So we got married?" Zaros asked 'Surprised'.

Adira felt it was reasonable for him to think this way. After the elders came and from their talks, it's reasonable for him to think like this. At this second she felt pity for him.

"Yeah," she replied, confirming that they were married to him. He deserved to know that.

"That's nice. We can consummate our marriage and then become real wife and husband," he said with a naughty grin as he expected a blush from her. His eyes were gleaming with naughtiness.

If it was two months ago Adira would have believed him but not now. That naughtiness can be a lie too. She would have blushed and lowered her head in embarrassment too. But she was no longer that Adira. She was a changed woman. All thanks to her husband.
