The prodigy

"Geoff ... Geoff" Sophie manage to call out getting up from the mattress.

"yes mom, you called me." Geoffrey rushed In after dropping what he was with.

"yes I did call you, where went you?" Sophie asked helping herself with a cup of water.

"I went to the forest to get some harbs for breyer's mom's illness" he explained placing the bag by the corner of the room and opening it.

"but, why leave so early in the morning and you never told me you were going out, what if something bad happens to you why didn't you tell me before living?" Sophie asks her son with concern in her eyes.

"Mo...m I told you not say that, nothing is ever going to happen to me so, please stop it, I'm really sorry I didn't tell you before I left, I need to start preparing the medicine already, breyer's mom would be expecting me in a minute I told her I would be there before sun rise" he said stepping outside to make fire, he knocked the stones together but only sparkles of light was produced, he looked back but didn't see is mom coming the chanted a spell.

"(flare)" there was fire, he smiled to himself proud of what he just did, but Jacked up when he heard his mother called.

"Geoffrey, I told you not to use your powers recklessly, it's quite risky for people around here to know you have magical powers". she said walking closer to him.

"But, mom ..." he tried to speak but was interrupted by his mother.

"please for my sake don't do it again, I don't want to lose you, you know you are my world, if anything happens to you I will be better of dead than being alive" she said trying to convince him.

"mom, I told not to be saying such things, nothing is going to happen to me I promise, and you know quite well that you are my world as well mom, because I have no father like every other kids". he said feeling sad because he knows nothing about his father,who he is or where he is.

"c'mon Geoff the medicine is all done you have to take it Beyer's mom she must be waiting for you." Geoffrey nodded as he carried the already mixed harb and headed to Beyer's home.

"it's the prodigy". Beyer's younger brother (Alvin) announced in excitement on seeing Geoffrey approaching, everyone gathered really pleased to see him. he walked up to Beyer, they fist bumped and greeted each other in their normal friendly greeting.

"This is the reason you are called the prodigy around here, my mom just got ill yesterday and here you are today with a solution, you really are a great friend in deed." he said bringing him into an embrace.

"okay, fine enough of the flatter for now, your mom needs me at the moment so, start this when I'm done with the treatment okay, be right back" he said sprightly working into the house, Beyer followed him inside smiling from ear to ear. Moments later, they came out of the house smiling at each other.

"you are coming to my place later right? remember you promised." Geoffrey noted waiting for an answer from Beyer.

"Sure, you said my mom is going to be alright in not less than 30 minutes so, there's no need to worry about about her, I will just go tell her I'm leaving with you right away." he said going back inside.

"yes sure, she will be alright in a while, I will be on my way, you will meet me on the way let me go and arrange the equipments." he told him making a move to leave.

"okay, I will meet you there then." he said going inside. Geoffrey equally left heading home as well.

"Mom,I will be going hunting with Beyer, I promise we will be back on time today and will equally stay away from trouble."he told his mom when he got home gathering his bows and arrows and other equipment he needed for hunting.

"okay dear, take care of yourself and Beyer while you are out there." she reminded him handing him a backpack.

"C'mon mom, not again I'm neither a kid or I'm I going for camping". he said drastically looking at his mom. "No matter how old or the height you might reach you will always be my little boy." she stated smiling at him, Geoffrey opened his mouth to speak but closed it again without saying a word simply agreeing to what his mother said, he nodded and smiled back at her and Left. "I know you are a grown up now but but I really can't tell you about your father because I don't know what awaits you, just be safe my son." she said casually not smiling know that Geoffrey was out of ear shot.

"C'mon man,I have been waiting for long here, what kept you so long?" Beyer asked not smiling.

"I'm sorry friend it's my mom with her motherly love show." Geoffrey said sprightly making Beyer chuckle. "okay, let's get going it equally seems your mother read my mind, because I actually am really hungry." Beyer said sprightly as they both walk into the forest teasing each other.

"hey, Geoffrey stop we have never reached this spot and we shouldn't."Beyer stated dragging Geoffrey back, preventing him from moving further.

"why Beyer? what's wrong with us trying a new hunting site?" he asked so inquisitively wanting to know the reason behind Beyer's objection.

"Actually, this is the boundary between the Chanate Dynasty and the Crunthe Dynasty, we are the Chanate Dynasty and we were told to stay away from the Crunthe Dynasty because they are filled with sorcerers, don't you know that?" Beyer asked not sure if Geoffrey wasn't aware of that.

"No, I didn't know about that, so what exactly are they going to do to us we are just hunting besides the forest is owned by no one" Geoffrey assured him but Beyer wasn't paying attention to him.

"uhmm.. Geoffrey? he called holding his stomach.

"what's the matter Beyer, are you okay?" he asked concerned.

"Yeah, just that I am hungry, can you pass me the food when I'm done we continue?" he asked stretching out his hands.

"Sure, you go on eating while I check that spot." he said as passed him the food, he pointed the angle at which he was to head to.

"Alright, I will fine on my own but be careful out there, and don't land yourself in some danger, I think it is the guards and sorcerers from Chanate Dynasty approaching so be careful". he said focusing more on the food he was with.

"okay, I will be right back". he said talking his bow and arrow with him.

"I will have to know what this guards and sorcerers actually looks like". he said to himself holding his arrow and bow tightly.
