Chapter 11 (Trial Of Endurance Part 2)

"Hey!!" shouted Kazuma. "I have returned."

"Oh? How was your little exploration through the cave?" asked Melda.

"It was intense...I didn't expect to see half the stuff I found in there but I was able to complete all the tasks and get my reward," explained Kazuma.

"Yes-Yes, I can very much see that you have become the wielder of the "Ice Dragon". It is of the child stage, but if you cultivate it well enough, it will grow into a Legendary Sage Ice Dragon. Anyway, what are you going to do now?"

"Even though I feel as if taking a rest would be the best option, I'm going to try the golden path now. My body is feeling stronger than ever, so I think I can handle the golden path," said Kazuma as he looked at the palm of his hands.

"Very well. Oh, by the way, are you going to walk into the cave with those crystals in hand?" asked Melda.

"No. I'll leave them here for now and then come back from them a little later," said Kazuma.

"Alright then, I'll watch them for you," said Melda.

"I'll have to inconvenience you then. I'll try not to take to long," said Kazuma as he walked away.

Kazuma walked on the golden path with eagerness. He wanted to see what was inside of the golden paths cave. Upon entering the cave, Kazuma saw that the entire interior of the cave was solid gold. He was stunned by his discovery. He walked further into the cave while admiring the cave golden glow. After what seemed like hours of walking, Kazuma got irritated. He looked behind himself and saw the entrance to the cave. His eyes widened as he was stunned that after all that walking, he didn't even reach the middle of the cave. Kazuma thought long and hard about his predicament a came tho the conclusion that he only thought he was walking but he wasn't moving at all. Looking at the gold put him in some kind of trance. Now that Kazuma knew this, he decided to not look at the golden. No matter how hard he tried, the gold forced its beautiful glare into his face, which made him unable to not look at it. Kazuma knew this was going to be a problem because he couldn't proceed to the end of the cave in this manner. He tried to break the gold by attacking it will all of his power, but nothing happened. The gold was very much indestructible. He decided to do something smart. Kazuma didn't bother trying to ignore or break the gold. Instead, he welcomed it. The only difference was that Kazuma was counting each of his steps in his head to keep part of him focused on walking, while the other part of him was focused on watching and admiring the gold. Soon enough, Kazuma made it to the end of the cave. He felt relieved that all of that walking was over. A blinding light shined into Kazama's eyes, which got his attention. He saw a mountain of gold coins, jewelry, shiny artifacts, and magical items. His eyes widened at this spectacle and he rushed towards it. Suddenly he stopped. He realized that even if he wanted all of these things, he didn't have a way to hold them. In the corner of his eyes, Kazuma saw a round, smooth and white ring, with three small but shiny gems on it. It was an inventory ring of the highest grade. Kazuma took the ring and made it absorb all the goods in the cave.

"Such a lucky find...I'll give one of these items to Frantasia a little later."

As Kazuma was about to exit the cave, he saw an elixir laying on a book in the corner of the cave. He went towards the items and picked them up. The elixir was a high-grade healing item that could heal almost every injury and disease. The book was even better though. It was the "Lightning Gods Obliteration Technique". This technique was used by the "Sage Of Ten Worlds", the strongest cultivator in the world. He used this technique to wipe out entire countries but it is also said that that the technique can wipe out planets if it were to be fully awakened. Kazuma put both of these items into his ring and left the cave in astonishment. When he reached out of the cave, he told Melda about his discoveries, and then went back into the "Ice Cave" to acquire all of the crystals.
