Eleonore’s POV
Another week had gone by after the incident with Viktor and my shadow self. Nothing untoward had happened, strangely enough, and all I did during that time was sleep and eat. It was a missed pleasure I had not been partaking in for a long time.
My dreams had begun to feel empty, the good kind of empty, where no dark shadows or heavy clouds loomed over me. I could feel the effects that some good sleep had on my body, too. I was less tense and more awake during the day.
The twins had commented on it too, saying I looked happier. But I didn’t know about that last part, really.
For the entirety of the past week I had heard next to nothing from Ronin, neither regarding him or the Bastian situation. I had wondered if that was something I wanted to be involved in anymore, though.
But a part of me also tried to convince myself that he was family, and that despite everything Bastian had done, Ronin was still a big part of my life.
