The Troll In The Dungeon

Y'know how I said that the novel will be darker than the movies and books? yeah, this is the beginning of this.

----------

Mylo ran his fingers across the cold stone walls of the dungeon, which seemed more like a catacomb than somewhere people go to for lessons.

he walked through the several halls of the dungeon, before stopping.

a large shadow was illumanitated by the floating candles in the dungeon; it was large, the floor under it vibrating with every step.

it was moving towards the aura in the girl's bathroom, obviously drawn by the scent of that Hermoine girl.

although he would love to make Rolf angry, an innocent life is not one that should be played around with.

luckily, he had a couple of vials on his body meaning that the very few valuable things on the troll's body can be collected and stored for further use; the only thing that was valuable in Mylo's eyes was its blood and eye's, which were known to be good alchemical ingredients.

Troll's had a bad reputation for being stupid, but that was far from the case. they had their own form of magic, of which Mylo needed to be careful about, not to mention their overwhelming strength, of which they tower over most magical creatures.

"Nagi." Mylo commanded.

Nagi hadn't been in a battle before, so it was time for her to get some experience.

Fire Magic and Healing Magic was her Forte, but Grandfather Newt said something about Moonlight Magic.

Mylo didn't dispel the Invisibility Charm as he rapidly ran towards the girl's bathroom, Nagi on his shoulder and his wand in his hand.

it felt good to run, almost addictive.

the troll was in plain sight as Mylo hissed.

It was a 12 foot giant, with a large wooden mace with hand-made spikes added towards it.

this was a show of the Troll's intelligence to battle. Their sisters, the Hags, have the ability to brew malicious potions while the trolls have the ability to use their intelligence in combat, albeit this comes with the cost of being useless in every single thing that doesn't combat.

The Troll turned around hearing the sound of footsteps before its nose sniffled.

Orc's sense wasn't the best, but it had a keen smell for human meat.

Unfortauntley, it seemed what his grandfather's knowledge about Troll's came to an end.

"Flipendo!"

An Orange spark shoot out from Mylo's wand, which disabled the Invisibilty charm.

Nagi wasn't idle either, shooting fireballs from her mouth. it seemed her markings on her skin lit up with each form of magic she used.

Mylo nodded his head when he saw the spell hit the Troll, but his expression suddenly soured.

The spell barely touched the skin of the Troll; causing Mylo to breathe in.

Something wasn't right here, Trolls didn't have good resistance to magic!

his casting and use of magic were excellent, what went wrong?

his time to think was cut short by a wooden mace, of which Mylo barely dodged, the outline of the mace nearly clipping his nose.

Fuck!

throwing himself backwards, Mylo turned to Nagi

"Dont waste your breathe on it!" Mylo commanded Nagi, who hissed in acceptance.

He was in a bad spot.

"H-HELP ME!" A squeal came from the bathroom beside him, as a girl was shouting

Shit, he forgot about her.

(AN : I was tempted to but Forgor but I just couldn't bring myself to it.)

"Nagi, help me!" Mylo rushed up to the troll, who once more swung its mace horizontally.

"You call this thing dumb?" Mylo cursed, as the horizontal mace rapidly approached his body.

it was really dumb, it would go for a vertical swing, but since it wanted the best area of effect, it swung horizontally.

"Protego!"

An invisible shield was cast around Mylo as the Mace hit the shield, causing several vibrations.

Under the pressure of the mace, the shield started to form cracks; much to the disarray of Mylo.

The shield broke, as Mylo was sent tumbling backwards, and into several brick walls.

he didn't have time to cast a spell, as he felt the pain of several of his bone's breaking at once.

his flesh ripped and tore in response to the trauma, as a pool of blood enveloped the cold stone floor he was sitting on.

would he die here?

what a stupid way to die.

His arrogance from his mark seemed to overwhelm him.

in his defence, this wasn't a normal Troll. Its power could be classed as an Orc, not a Troll.

His vision started to blur as a snake started to crawl towards him

"N-nagi, is that you?" Mylo muttered to the snake, which hissed in response.

all he could see was a shining light, which flickered like the brightest of silvers.

that was before Mylo lost conscious

-----------------------------------------------------------

Nagi looked towards the troll, her tongue hissing with the pain she felt of her nearly dead master.

a silver flame flickered around her body, as her amber eye's turned a silver colour.

the orc outmatched her size many time's over, but the pride of the Xiangliu clan that ran through her veins wouldn't be outmatched by a simple creature.

a silver stream filled the black scales of Nagi as she hissed towards her pray, who roared in response.

she shot out like a bullet, her body been enveloped in amber flames which warmed the dungeon air.

it seemed like the girl that her master came down to save was knocked out, so Nagi wasn't afraid to go all out, even if the girl had some scorch marks on her.

the Troll swung its club horizontally once more as Nagi used her tail to propel herself up before she closed the distance with the orc.

It roared in response, its club brought back for a vertical swing.

But to no avail.

A crescent blade was shot out of Nagi's mouth, which seemed to pass the restrictions of the magically resistant Troll.

its arm's was sliced off as a roar from the pain slipped through the Troll's mouth.

Nagi didn't retreat, her strong fangs showing as they glistened with the ember properties of her fire magic.

she jumped at the Troll's vitals, the neck, and bit down.

the searing smell of the Troll's flesh slowly burning away would leave any person throwing up, but Nagi enjoyed the taste as her teeth slowly crushed the Troll's Trachea.

Troll's bones are strong, but the Trachnea wasn't a bone.

blood filled the Troll's mouth as its inability to breathe meant it would slowly suffocate to death.

Nagi had won.

A hiss filled with the pride of winning caused Nagi to shine in an Ember light.
