Kushina's request

After the Uzumaki Clan members who arrived with along with Kushina left, Kushina and Araki went to Mito. It was Kushina who wanted to ask something of Mito.

Unlike Araki, she wasn't at all nervous in front of Mito. Well, the reason was that she hadn't been trained by Mito yet, but still, she was quite daring.

Kushina said to Mito, "Oba-sama, I want to join the Konoha Academy! I want to become a Shinobi, dattebane!"

Mito knew that Kushina would say this to her. She let out a sigh and nodded her head, "Alright, you can join the Academy. I will ask monkey about this."

Araki frowned as he also wanted to join the Academy. Though he wasn't keen on doing missions, he still said, "I want to join the Academy too."

"Oh, really? You are so mischievous. I fear that the instructors would send you home after a day." Mito said with a small smile on her wrinkled face.

"I don't want to be alone here, grandma. I would really be bored here. I promise I will do my best in studying. I won't irritate the instructors, I promise." Araki said with a pleading look on his face.

Mito's face darkened when she heard him promise. She started thinking 'Promise? Does your word even has any value? In this one year, you have broken promises as if you are eating candies.'

However, she also didn't want to disappoint Araki too much. He was her grandson, after all. She crouched down on the ground and pats his head, she said, "In the next month, if I hear a single complaint from the instructors, I will remove you from the Academy."

"Okay, grandma! I promise I won't irriatate them…" He said in his mind 'Too much that is.'

Kushina cheered up when she found that her friend could join the Academy with her. At least she won't be alone there.

Even though she met Araki for the first time here, she couldn't help but be comforted in his presence. It was like he was reeking of a comfortable nature chakra.

"Alright, I will talk to the Hokage to let you go to the Academy from tomorrow. Go to bed now! Or else, I will kick you until you wake up." Even though Mito said it in a casual tone, Araki felt a chill down his spine.

He unconsciously touched his back with his hand and remembered the previous beating when Mito was trying to wake him up. He asked with a scared look in his eyes, "You… You wouldn't do that. Right?"

A merciless grin appeared on Mito as she answered, "You really doubt your grandma after spending 1 year with me?"

Gulping down a mouthful of saliva, Araki decided not to test his grandma too much. He could be on the receiving end of a beating.

He took Kushina's hand and ran away from the hall. No point in enraging his grandma more than this.

After seeing her grandson leave, Mito started thinking about him 'I guess he is having the fun of his life. Though it's a good thing, he doesn't think about the past too much. I do fear what would happen to you, Raikage. I can only hope that you die before meeting Araki…'

Then, a sharp look appeared in her eyes as she continued to think 'As for Konoha… They haven't agreed to assist Uzushio and instead wants to check everything to gauge their own chance of survival. Monkey… You are playing with fire now!'

However, Mito realised there was nothing she could do other than warn her clan members. What a pitiful thing age was. If she had 10 years more, she could have made sure the Konoha wouldn't dare do what it was about to next.

Her heart did burn in anger, but her expression remained the same serene as it was.

At that time, she heard the voice of her prisoner inside of her, "Kukukuku… To think Mito angered to such an extent."

However, the Kyuubi inside of her was unable to get a response out of Mito. It was mostly because Kyuubi's remarks weren't worth retorting at.

It somewhat angered Kyuubi there was little he could do while bonded by these chains. The seal had been weakening in these recent days. He knew what this meant. Mito was at the end of her lifespan. A hope did arise in Kyuubi, maybe he could really get out of these chains and be free.

How could someone else be as monstrous as Mito and take on his potent chakra? Maybe there was a chance he could use the next host and escape.

As long as he escaped, he swore to never interfere with these Shinobis again. Fortunately, the two shinobis who could defeat him were already dead. Mito was near her deathbed as well.

And in the Uchiha Clan, there shouldn't be anyone who has a Mangekyou Sharingan so he might have a chance to get out and enjoy his freedom.

Araki and Kushina slept in the same room. Both were too excited to sleep but still laid on a comfortable bed. Kushina was rather comfortable with Araki now. Being the chatterbox she was, she started to tell him about how her life was in Uzushio.

Araki was surprised to find out that Kushina was the daughter of the Uzumaki Clan Head. From her words, it seemed she had many friends back at in Uzushio. So, a question appeared in his head 'Why did Kushina-chan come here if she was so happy at the Uzushio? Did they force her to come? Is something happening without my awareness?'

He decided whatever it was, he must protect Kushina from this.

Soon enough, Kushina started sleeping as she was growing tired because of the journey and playing with Araki. Araki continued to think for some moments before he also closed his eyes.
