In the meantime, Nora was leading the Elven Army from Isengard into Rohan as she asks, "How many people have we lost against Saruman?"
"We lost roughly 500 Elves and had over 1500 Elves injured. The numbers are lower than expected thanks to the reinforcement you sent us. They helped with healing the wounded while Gandalf and I were going through Orthanc," says Elrond who was beside Nora with Gandalf.
"Did you find something?" asks Nora as Gandalf brought forward a black marble while not touching it directly.
"We found the Palantír. It was formerly used to communicate between the people here and in exile but some were used to foresee a future but this one seems to be possessed with dark magic possibly Sauron's doing," says Gandalf as Nora picked it up.
She feels someone behind the Palantír whispering something into her ears when suddenly the whisper turned into a scream because of Nora. She was inputting her will on the other person behind the Palantír as her eyes turned blood red.
"I will find you and kill you until nothing is left of you and your people," says Nora as she then breaks the Palantír in her hand.
"What did you see?" asks Elrond curious.
"Nothing, I just send a message," says Nora as she looked at her hand seeing parts of the destroying Palantír while asking, "Did we need it?"
"Not really," says Gandalf feeling pain that it got destroyed since there weren't many of them left from the original eight.
"When will we arrive at Helm's Deep?" asks Nora as Elrond took a map out.
"If we keep marching all night we will arrive there in the morning," says Elrond as he pointed at where they were roughly and then where Helm's Deep was.
"Then we will keep marching," says Nora as they rested every other night.
"As you command," says Elrond as they didn't stop and continued on their way towards Helm's Deep.
While Nora and the Elven Army advanced towards Helm's Deep, John and Nesiara were traveling with Frodo and Sam as they reached Osgiliath.
"To believe that this used to be the capital of Gondor," says John as Nesiara was still mourning her son's death.
"I don't know how you can still be this calm after our son died," says Nesiara as she looked at John.
"It might be because of the dreams I am getting lately or wishful thinking," says John as he turned towards Nesiara.
"You have been dreaming of Bran lately," says Nesiara worried about John now.
"Yes, the dreams are becoming clearer but still I don't know if it is wishful thinking or reality," says John as he began to tell her what he told Jack before when they find a group of men fight against some orcs.
"We should maybe talk later," says Nesiara drawing her spear while John took out his two Kings.
Frodo and Sam were ready to fight as well when they felt watched. Suddenly a Nazgul appeared on his Fellbeast that went for Frodo and Sam when suddenly a giant Black Dragon appeared out of nowhere opening his mouth.
The Dragon closer his mouth eating the Nazgul and his Fellbeast as he began to chew on them the Fellbeast gave one last scream from itself before it was devoured by the Dragon who gave an angry roar from itself before rushing towards the orcs as Nesiara and John retreated back towards where Frodo and Sam were.
"Are you two alright?" asks Nesiara as Frodo and Sam hide behind John.
"What was that Dragon doing here?" asks Frodo as John smiled.
"You don't recognize him?" asks John as they took a closer look before shaking their heads.
They see as the Dragon went rampage on the battlefield before Nesiara says, "Koltox is enraged because his companion died."
"Koltox? You mean the Drake that Bran used to ride," says Sam as Nesiara nods.
"Koltox is connected to Bran when the connection was severed he must have known that his companion died. He must feel rage, sorrow, and more since both were quite close," says Nesiara as John flew over towards Koltox.
"Koltox, you shouldn't be here but in Helm's Deep helping Celine as Bran did before he fell," says John as he landed on Koltox.
Koltox gave an enraged roar from himself as John petted him while saying, "We can't change the past but you can still protect the person your master tried to protect."
Koltox gave another roar in which John felt his sorrow for not being there for Bran when he needed him as John took a deep breath before saying, "I know but Celine needs you right now."
Koltox was ready to leave when a group of orcs approaches them and he just uses his fire breath burning them all down before leaving Osgiliath while John jumped down to join the others again.
"Where is Koltox going?" asks Frodo seeing the Dragon leave.
"He will be joining Celine for now. There will be a big battle happening in Helm's Deep tonight but we must now find a path towards Mordor," says John as he looked at the group of men that were beginning to stand up again after receiving the shock of their life.
They walked towards the group as one of them had a resemblance to a person they knew when the man says, "Thank you for your help. My name is Faramir, son of Denethor II. I really was surprised that the Dragon appeared in this battle but it seems he was on our side or better said your side."
"Son of Denethor II, you must be Boromir's little brother then," says John as Faramir opened his eyes in surprise from hearing John say that.
"You know my brother?" asks Faramir as the group nods.
"Yes, we met him in Rivendell some weeks ago. He joined the Fellowship of the Ring with us but he has another mission to follow so we can infiltrate Mordor to destroy the Ring," says Nesiara sad as Faramir was worried.
"Did something happen to my brother?" asks Faramir worried.
"Your brother is fine its just that our son died three days ago while defending the other followers like Boromir in Helm's Deep. They have orders to help Rohan in holding Helm's Deep so Rohan can help Gondor later on," says John as his face didn't show any emotion.
"Is Rohan in danger?" asks Faramir as John nods.
"Yes and No, it all depends if your brother and the others can hold Helm's Deep. But you shouldn't worry Koltox is on his way to help them and my daughter is there as well. She should be able to hold the wall until reinforcements arrive," says John as Faramir was still worried after hearing John.
"Who are you by the way?" asks Faramir as he still didn't know their names.
"We have here Frodo, the Ringbearer, with his loyal friend Sam. Then there is John, my husband, and I'm Nesiara. Our objective is to reach Mordor and destroy the one Ring," says Nesiara as she explained why they were so far away from the others.
"Should we escort you?" asks Faramir as Nesiara shakes her head.
"No, our way is different than yours. You need to return to Minas Tirith with your men. Osgiliath might have been the capital of Gondor but you will die with your men if you stay and Gondor will need every man they have for the battle that is to come," says Nesiara warning Faramir to leave Osgiliath before it is too late.
"I won't be able to follow this advice if we lose Osgiliath, Minas Tirith will be vulnerable for Mordor to attack," says Faramir as he couldn't leave Osgiliath.
"Sometimes you need to lose a battle so you can win a war. I don't want your father to feel the same pain I am feeling right now. He could lose himself in his pain and sorrow or worse in denial of the truth," says Nesiara as she looked at John.
She believed that John was denying their son's death with his dreams trying to outrun reality as Faramir could understand what Nesiara now meant.
"Even then I swore to my brother that I would hold the line," says Faramir when Nesiara sighs.
"How about this would you take the command of a Queen seriously?" asks John as Faramir looked confused.
"It depends," says Faramir as John looked at Nesiara.
"I, as the Queen of all Elves, command you to retreat until my army arrives to reinforce Gondor and your brother returns with the true King of Gondor and Arnor," says Nesiara as she really didn't like her title as Queen of all Elves.
"You are royalty? Eh, I'm sorry if I have offended you, my lady," says Faramir as he kneeled confused about why Nesiara was keeping her title hidden.
"Once your brother arrives at Minas Tirith you will know if I told you the truth but until then you will retreat from here," says Nesiara as Faramir bows his head while kneeling.
"Of course," says Faramir following the orders even if Nesiara was not his ruler she had the presence of one.
Faramir stands up and looks at Frodo and Sam while saying, "You two are real noble Hobbits. I hope that you complete your quest in destroying the Ring and return to us in one piece so we can celebrate our victory over Mordor."
"We hope so as well," says John as he petted their head.
"We already lost too many people in this war. I'm really sorry about what happened to your son and I hope that I will be able to celebrate this victory with my brother honoring your son's death for protecting my brother," says Faramir as Nesiara had some tears in her eyes.
"My son would have loved that," says Nesiara as she ran into John's arms.
"We should also continue on our way. We need to pass the river and mountain range separating Mordor from Gondor unseen," says John as he smiled at Faramir making him understand that he should leave.
Faramir leaves and the group of four continue on their way toward Mordor.
Hope you like it. I will make a pause for a while I feel somehow quite exhausted lately. I will return some day in January again. I wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy Year.
