I applied that scent to Jonas, although his body never had the adaptability to become as synchronized with the smell as I did. Never did it last as long either.

Done with those steps, I fashioned myself a cover for my groin, a loin cloth of sorts.
It was made out of vines, leaves and weeds that shielded my vulnerable lower area.
That out of the way, and preparations over, we headed out.
I wish I could have left Jonas in a safe place and journeyed alone, but the safest place for him is here with me.

A loom of clouds hung in the sky shielding off the rays sunlight and the world was painted in ash as we traversed the territories of flying beasts. The earth was cracked and bare of foliage, only housing a few dead husks of once plentiful trees or cacti of irregular shape and size.
We trekked this desertious terrain, staying under the radar of beasts with the same strengths as the ones we’ve faced before.
