Prelude: Being normal is overrated!??

Teenagehood, people say it's the only time during our lives we think we are fearless, the time to make (dumb) mistakes, try to be different (what's wrong with just being normal...oh wait... Followers don't dig that), experience life in its purest form (getting high on second hand smoke), before education and high expectations ruin it( hummm not sure they can ruin something that's already pretty much effed up).

Why is it that any kind of normalcy is frowned upon today? Are we so far gone that we don't even know what's normal? Charles Dickens said it first: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair..." Master Dickens sure knew his stuff, but I think even he would be appalled at todays behaviours, back then it was all about the search for equality and rights...now it's all about the search for the best Selfie angle, really... how far have we (not) come?

Sometimes I just wish I could go live in the past...'Oh shit!' I swear when I hear my mom calling, oops there goes all my philosophical contemplation.

'Jaaadeee!!! Maggie's here! She's going up!' ahhhh she was giving me the heads up yelling from the kitchen.

Maggie is my best friend and she's... well... not normal...if you even know what normal is anyway.

I closed my diary and threw it under the bed at the same time my bedroom door opened.

(Geez that was close.)

'Watcha doin?' me looking guilty af says 'Nothiiing.'

'Hummm that so?' Maggie looked around the room suspiciously and settled on the huge puff by the window, there are many lovable things about Maggie, one of them is she knows when not to push.

So she lead the conversation to safe ground, - "Oh my God Jay!!! She jumped up grabbed my PS4 controller that was on top of the new Spiderman game.

Surprised I said: "Oh that! It's Jun's, he's done with it already."

"Jun as in your brother Zhu Jun Kai, who is at University, the elusive brother that even I your best friend rarely manage to see? that Jun?" Maggie asked a ferocious look on her light amber eyes, her eyes were kinda scary, if you get my meaning, they have this unnnatural look that can only be rivaled by my ever changing green eyes.

"Well yeah, I only know one Jun Kai!" I laughed " What's up with the look you giving me Mags? That's one crazy ass look right there if I ever saw one!!!" I shifted uncomfortably getting up from the floor and sitting on my bed.

"Crazy? You ain't seen crazy yet! Where he at? Is he home? I got a score to settle with him." she closed her fists as she made her way to the door.

"Woah there girl! Score? to settle? with Jun? why, when, how ??? " Ok, so that doesn't sound good, Jun Kai is wicked and Maggie is worse, what happened and why am I none the wiser, I wonder...

" Oh believe me Jay, you don't want to know!" Maggie turned her liquid fire eyes on me and all i can think is ...'Oh boy Jun Kai is soooooo dead'...

"What don't I want to know? and when did you meet up with Jun? You've hated his guts since he nick named you Cyclops." ( X-MEN character that shoots lasers from his eyes, and you know what!? I kinda get my bro, but let's keep that between us.)

"Don't say that name!! You know I hate it! I didn't meet up with Jun I haven't seen him in forever, that's what pisses me off, he texted me on we chat, I thought it was spam but noooo it was your dear brother asking me for my Chinese Philosophy notes, the ones I've been working on for the last year "I told him to bite me! You know what he texted me back ??? Do you? Do you?"

( Maggie doesn't really look like it but she's the most intelligent person we know, most people call her a freaking genius they always enfasize the freaking bit though...she's a natural blonde but her hair is rainbowish now, with looks that are made to kill, Nikita like attitude and all sorts of dark side knowldege at sixteen she's already a force to be reckoned with.)

I'm not a slow mo kind person, but Maggie had me doing a gold fish impersonation opening and closing my mouth because I didn't know what to say.

Maggie roled her eyes and threw her arms up for drama "He asked when!!!!!"

"When what? what did he mean?" I asked.

"The hell Jay !? Even a kid knows what he meant! He was asking when he could take a bite!!!!"

As it dawned on me what it meant or could mean all i could say was "oh".

Suddenly it hit me, "So? It's not like we ain't used to him being a dick! He's wired that way, how many times have you heard me ask my mom if she found him in a dumpster? Besides you're over thinking, Jun Kai most llikely meant a literal bite not the kind you're thinking, you perv!!" Maggie didn't look happy about it but she relaxed a bit and came back to sit next to me.

"You're right but I thought he would get better as he got older." I threw my head back and laughed hysterically ... "Jun Kai better?? Geez Mags next you'll tell me you still believe in Santa!!!"

Oh if looks could kill I'd be as good as dead, Killer eyes I tell you...killer eyes.
