First exam! Part-1

'What are these idiots doing?' Ren thought he looked at the three genin who were dashing at their group. He tried to be as relaxed as possible as he waited for them to take action.

'All of us are tightly grouped together, who are they even targeting...' Ren thought, he was in a dilemma over what to do, it looked like the Oto genin was going for Kabuto and although he wanted to see what Kabuto would do, Kabuto was currently standing with the rest of his batchmates so it could be dangerous.

Ren mobilized a small amount of chakra at the soles of his feet and through his calf muscles, the Oto genin was still tunnel-visioned on Kabuto so Ren had the perfect opportunity for a counter. Ren pushed his annoyance aside and slightly nudged Ino's shoulder.

Ino looked at Ren in confusion but suddenly he vanished, she heard the swish of wind a moment after followed by a loud shout of pain.

"Gah!" Dosu shouted as he hurled backward toward his team, Kin and Zaku managed to grab onto him and stabilize but Dosu was trembling from the pain.

Most of the rookies leaned back and froze in surprise at the sudden attack and even Kabuto managed to perfectly react.

"Waa~"

"Hey~"

The shouts stilled in the room at the sudden commotion as Dosu screamed and almost collapsed as he coughed up blood. Kin and Zaku supported Dosu and then looked up at the leaf genin standing in front of them. According to the silver-haired brat, Ren was one of Konoha's new prodigies, but he looked so average that no one would pay extra attention to him.

He had short black hair that perfectly matched his plain black T-shirt, Kin could see a hint of a chainmail vest which was covered by a plain dark blue jacket. A pair of black combat trousers and combat sandals completed the ensemble along with the bandages wrapped around his wrists.

"What are you doing!!" Kin came back to her senses and shouted back at Ren trying to shift responsibility. Dosu coughed up some more blood before he managed to shift his body weight and slowly regained his footing.

"...don't piss me off, wait for the exam to start," Ren spoke coldly before he flickered back toward his group.

Ren's tone enraged Zaku and as he aimed his right hand toward Ren, Dosu used his left hand to stop him. He shook his head at Zaku but before he could speak further there was a large burst of smoke at the front desk followed by a shout.

"Silence degenerates!"

Ren stared at the dozen new chakra signatures that appeared all of a sudden at the other end of the room, he stared at the wall clock and then walked back toward the rookie group. It was the first time he had moved at max speed in front of the rest of his batch mates, Sasuke was staring at Ren his Sharingan observing each movement that Ren made.

The commotion not only created a wave of surprise in the rookie teams but even Neji and Gaara stared seriously at Ren when he flickered back.

'He's gotten fast, maybe faster than even Lee without the weights... in addition, the silver-haired genin said he is also proficient in Fire-style Ninjutsu.' Neji contemplated, it's been more than a year since he had seen Ren and the transformation that he had gone through was shocking enough that he had to stop Lee from jumping in and trying to trade blows with Ren.

'He's strong... should I kill him mother... yess... yess..... he will further prove my existence.' Gaara's thoughts slowly were clouded with killing intent as he stared at Ren. A blast of killing intent leaked from his eyes which caught Ibiki and Ren's interest.

"I said, Shut it!" Ibiki shouted, his eyes flicking to the redhead before he addressed everyone, "Sorry to keep you waiting... I'm Ibiki Morino, proctor for the first test of the chunin exam."

Ibiki was intense, that was Ren's first thought as he looked at the proctor, he was wearing a bandana on top of a combat vest and pants. There were two diagonal scars decorating his face as he stared intently at the sound genin.

Ibiki had a small on his lips as he pointed at the fallen Dosu and spoke, "You, from the Hidden Sound Village. You can't do anything as you please before the exams, do you want to fail from the get-go?"

Kin stared at the proctor in disbelief and spoke, "We weren't the ones who attacked, it's that one from the Leaf Village..."

Ibiki stared at the sound three and then spoke, "Just because we weren't here doesn't mean that no one was keeping watch. But you guys did present me with a good opportunity for a warning so I'll let you go..." Ibiki stared at Ren who avoided eye contact.

"There will be no battles, competitions, and the like without the permission of the proctors, and even if you get the permission of proctors, actions that could lead to the death of an opponent will not be permitted..." Ibiki spoke, and then he swept his gaze across the room making sure everyone was looking into his eyes.

"Any Idiot that screws with me or the rules will be disqualified immediately... Got it?" Ibiki asked though the question was rhetorical as he moved on to explain the exam.

"Now then, we will start the first test of the chunin exam!" Ibiki spoke and then he held out a small chip that had the number '1' written on it.

"Turn in your applications, take one of these number cards in exchange, and sit in the seat matching with that number. After that, we will hand out the paper for the written test." Ibiki finished his explanation and a chunin named Kotetsu held up a stack of papers to emphasize the point.

Ren ignored Naruto as he descended into a breakdown upon realizing that the first test was a written exam and turned to Ino, "Good luck Ino-chan," Ren whispered and then he walked to the front of the classroom to exchange for his written chip. After that everyone one by one handed in their exam forms in exchange for a chip.

Ren looked at the number 69 on the chip as he sat on his seat, to his left was another Konoha genin and to his right was a red-named Suna genin, one who was on the same team as the Suna's Jinchuriki. Speaking of said Jinchuriki, he got quite a surprise when Ren used {Observe} on him after getting his chip. He was on alert both from the dense and concealed killing intent emanating from him and from the power hidden within his body.

'...What is another Jinchuriki doing here, aren't Jinchuriki supposed to be weapons of mass destruction that are normally sheltered inside their villages...' Ren took a deep breath as he stared at Gaara from the corner of his eyes, then turned to look at Temari.

'What are they planning anyway,' Ren thought as his eyes clashed with Temari...

AN- First test, I was going to brush through the first test but then I decided to tweak some things, so I'll need an extra few chapters to finish with this test!!
