Aoi Rokushō

{Yamagishi Pub, Miyazaki Town}

{5:34 PM, 4th July 13 Yrs ANB}

{3rd Person POV}

"You made me wait for an hour for a kid?" Aoi questioned, he was visibly displeased with the whole ordeal. When Hanzou told him that he had a potential valuable recruit, he wasn't expecting it to be a kid who looked like he had just graduated a year or two ago.

Aoi Rokushō was a chunin from Konoha when he tricked Idate Morino into stealing the Sword of the Thunder God. He joined Ame as a chunin and then quickly got promoted to a Jonin because of the amount of intel he provided and because he wielded the Sword of the Thunder God which increased his combat power.

At first, he had been worried about joining Ame and he even had contingency plans to leave fearing that someone would try to steal his sword. But when he reached Ame, he learned some shocking things and rules that made him stay.

Maybe it was the fact that Hanzo had died without any of the villages finding out. While there was a sense of oppression in operating in a village that was run by a 'GOD'. There was also a sense of security. No one dared to mess around fearing their eventual demise so for him this was the perfect refuge. To be honest other than the inherent dampness and the continuous rain, Ame wasn't that different from Konoha. He still did missions and his life was monotonously boring, except he was a Jonin now.

No one in Ame dared to have any sight on his sword, it was a guarantee that many criminals liked and slowly over the years all the average missing nins have slowly assimilated into Ame. Not only the outside world was filled with high-level bounty hunters, but the facilities couldn't be compared to Ame. People like Hanzou worked like messengers who turned potential missing nin into Ame teams who were formally missing nins themselves to induct them into Ame.

Aoi's mood was a little bad even before seeing Ren. The chunin exams in Konoha were cancelled and according to the rumors he had heard, a war was on the horizon.

While Ame was the perfect place for criminals like him to hide, it was also the most favorite battleground for the war between nations. So whether he liked it or not, he would have to defend against both Konoha and Suna's shinobi in the coming future, and as he was well acquainted with Konoha's elite force he knew he stood no chance.

The thought of abandoning Ame didn't even cross his mind because he knew the kind of monitoring and power the man hidden behind the village was capable of. He could even abandon the mission now and hide, but where would he go? The counterintelligence needed to keep the death of Hanzo a secret proved that they had a well-established spy network. So when he heard that Hanzou found a potential valuable recruit he was looking forward to having another canon fodder for the upcoming war.

"Don't be so quick to judge him Aoi-san, Ren here is a medic-nin..." Hanzou explained.

Aoi was visibly surprised by that, his green locks whipped as he turned around to give Ren another look. He still looked too young, too young to be proficient enough in the more intricate medical ninjutsu, but something was better than nothing. He knew the situation in Ame so if Ren could use the simplest medical ninjutsu, he knew he was going to be rewarded handsomely.

"Medical Ninjutsu, really?" Aoi asked with a raised eyebrow. He suppressed his excitement as he took in Ren's figure.

Ren on the other hand was eyeing Aoi as well, he had come back to Hanzou for a slight recon. But after getting a feel of Aoi's chakra reserves he figured he could easily take him in a fight. The next thing he did was use {Observe} to get more info, and although the back story was quite interesting to read. It was the name of the sword that got his attention.

[Description: Aoi Rokushō is a jōnin from Amegakure, and a missing-nin from Konohagakure. A former instructor in Konoha, he tricked Idate Morino, his former pupil, into stealing the legendary lightning chakra sword called the "Sword of the Thunder God", which had once belonged to Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, along with a secret scroll of how to use the sword at full potential. After that, he eloped to Amegakure and got promoted to Jonin. Currently, he is the Jonin sensei of team 81 of Amegakure.]

...

'The Sword of the Thunder God... I don't remember reading about it in the chapters that were dedicated to the second Hokage...' Ren thought. Maybe Konoha removed the description of the weapon because it was stolen or maybe because it was a family heirloom of the Senju clan.

"Yes, I know the basics of human anatomy and could use the Mystical Palm technique to heal most external and some non-fatal internal injuries..." Ren replied as he shrugged. He was far more interested in Aoi now but he couldn't let the man's guard go up.

While it would be in his best interest to reclaim Konoha's heirloom, the title that was likely attached to the sword was something he wanted as well. And maybe the sword as well.

'Plus he's a sword user, I want to see how I would stack against another kenjutsu practitioner who isn't Hayate-sensei...' Ren thought.

Aoi pondered as he looked into Ren's eyes. His eyes were confident so he was sure Ren wasn't lying. Suppressing his excitement Aoi turned to Hanzou and nodded. The Mystical Palm Jutsu was a staple jutsu of Konoha missing-nin, it was capable of healing all injuries if the user was skilled enough.

'Jackpot!' Aoi thought as he nodded to his team.

"Alright, let's go..." Aoi spoke to his genin and then motioned for Ren to follow. Ren shared a glance with Hanzou and after a final nod, he followed Aoi out.

'Should I finish him soon after leaving? If I had known something like this would happen I would have sent Clone 1 after finishing him off...' Ren thought as they left the pub.

The 5 of them quickly left the village and moved toward what Ren could only assume would be the Land of Rain.

"You got anyone back in Konoha?" Aoi asked after a bit of silence.

"Orphan..." Ren replied. He maintained a small distance with Aoi's team. At the very least he needed to maintain this distrustful facade for a while longer until they drop their guard. He didn't know if he should kill the genins, their names had turned yellow and he didn't know what that meant.

Aoi nodded in understanding, "Ahh, I understand. Reserve force?"

"No, failed the exam the first time though so no chance of getting that promotion to Jonin..." Ren replied.

The small talk continued, through the whole time Ren projected the image of what he actually felt before his ability awakened.

Disgruntled, abandoned, unfair. That's how the world really was so it was not that hard for Ren to project these emotions. After a while Aoi came a little bit closer to Ren, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to deal with Aoi.

'Forget it, I can test my Kenjutsu later. Better not waste this opportunity...' Ren thought as he got ready to pull his sword out from his inventory and finish Aoi off when Aoi's next words made him pause for a bit.

"Alright, since you are from Konoha I'll give you a little tip, keep your head down when you reach Ame. The water there is even deeper than Konoha, and remove your headband. Both 'God' and 'Angel' hate Konoha..."
