A Strange Case

Among the shock, silence fell as the guards carried the assassin's corpse away. The wyverns kept an eye out for anything strange, their powerful noses working overtime, sniffing the air for poison or the hastened breaths of those who bear ill intent.

Alice walked into Emma's lodge and shouted at the top of her lungs, standing firmly in place, "Sara! Lilia! Valtorina, we need your help, come down here!"

After a few seconds, she could hear the footsteps tip-tapping on the upper floor. The sisters soon after made their way downstairs, with Aisha following behind them with Valtorina at her side.

"What did happen? I saw the wyverns from the window; did someone attack us in the middle of the city?" Sara asked.

"You could say that." Alice replied, "Short story is that the city lord is possibly poisoned so I came here to bring you to his mansion to confirm that. Assassins are already on our trail, they want you two dead before you could see the lord."
