Sigh, of all the people to run into in the cafeteria, why did it have to be Nurse Su again?

Leaving the cafeteria, Ye Xiu couldn't help but chuckle wryly to himself. He didn't pay much mind to the encounter; he simply had a hearty appetite, nothing to be ashamed of, though it did feel a bit awkward.

Instead of heading back to the respiratory department, Ye Xiu decided to make a detour to the ICU.

Feeling reassured, Ye Xiu left the ICU and returned to his department, passing by Dr. Zhao Ruobing, who was heading into the ICU to check on the same patient. Despite having already visited earlier in the day, Dr. Zhao wanted to ensure everything was still going smoothly before taking a break for lunch.

As she entered the ICU and reviewed the patient's condition, Dr. Zhao noticed that the medical records had been tampered with.

"Has anyone else been here to look at the records?" she asked the ICU nurse with a frown.

"Yes, an internal medicine doctor came by to check on the patient, presumably a relative," the nurse replied.

"An internal medicine doctor?" Dr. Zhao was taken aback. Then, with a hint of urgency, she asked, "Did he say anything?"

"No, he just asked about the patient's condition and left," the ICU nurse shook her head.

Disappointed, Dr. Zhao realized it couldn't have been him.

Exiting the ICU, Dr. Zhao couldn't help but feel a bit self-deprecating. She had briefly entertained the thought that the internal medicine doctor might be the skilled surgeon from yesterday, but it seemed ludicrous. How could an internal medicine doctor perform such comprehensive and expert surgery?

Back in the respiratory department, Ye Xiu didn't return to his office or the break room. Instead, he went back to the ward to check on the patients. He meticulously examined each one, verifying the theories he had learned from Dr. Wang Yanchao. Despite the rumors swirling about him, the patients and their families welcomed his presence, grateful for his attention.

As he went from room to room, Ye Xiu found himself increasingly impressed by Dr. Wang's expertise. The patients' conditions aligned with his expectations, and any discrepancies were due to the patients' own health issues rather than Dr. Wang's treatment.

After over an hour of thorough examination, Ye Xiu emerged from the ward feeling exhilarated rather than tired. He had gained a deeper understanding of Dr. Wang's knowledge and skills through practical experience, reaffirming his admiration for his mentor.
