Why is he acting so mysteriously?

Nurse Su watched Ye Xiu's hurried departure with a perplexed expression.

Wait, isn't that the direction of the patient wards? Why is Dr. Ye heading there instead of back to the office?

After a moment, Nurse Su suddenly remembered something and exclaimed, then quickly followed after Ye Xiu.

After bidding farewell to Nurse Su, Ye Xiu headed straight for the ward where he had determined the misdiagnosed patient was located. Upon entering, he saw a nurse busy changing the patient's IV.

"Nurse, this medication..." Ye Xiu began to speak instinctively, intending to stop her from administering the medication. However, when he saw the medication in the nurse's hand clearly, his words caught in his throat, and his expression froze.

This medication wasn't the one he had seen earlier; it was the new prescription he had recommended!

"Dr. Ye, what's wrong?" The nurse turned around, puzzled by Ye Xiu's dazed expression. "What about this medication?"

"This... nothing... Can I take a look at these medications?" Ye Xiu snapped out of his reverie, feeling a bit embarrassed. Nonetheless, his gaze remained fixed on the medications on the shelf.

"Sure." The nurse stepped aside.

Approaching the shelf, Ye Xiu examined the medications carefully. They were all prescriptions he had recommended earlier, not the ones previously prescribed. He breathed a sigh of relief.

"Do you administer these medications directly according to the doctor's instructions? Did Dr. Wang approve them?" Ye Xiu asked curiously. According to hospital protocol, nurses couldn't change medications without approval, so he was surprised to see his recommendations followed so promptly.

"These medications were prescribed by Dr. Wang during his rounds at noon. Is there a problem, Dr. Ye?" The nurse glanced at Ye Xiu, puzzled by his strange demeanor.

"No, no problem. By the way, does Dr. Wang also do rounds at noon?" Ye Xiu suddenly realized what had happened – Director Wang had likely seen his recommendations during his own rounds and approved them.

"Of course, Dr. Wang is very responsible. He conducts rounds every morning, noon, and evening," the nurse replied proudly, her demeanor exuding respect for their department head.

"Yes, Dr. Wang is indeed an exceptional doctor," the patient lying in the bed added gratefully.

Three rounds a day?

Listening to the nurse and patient, Ye Xiu couldn't help but feel a newfound respect for Director Wang. Even though he had only recently returned to China and joined the hospital, he understood the tremendous responsibility that came with leading a department, especially one where the head physician conducted rounds three times a day.

If Ye Xiu's impression of Director Wang had improved somewhat upon seeing his recommendations earlier, it was now completely transformed.

"Dr. Ye, do you need anything?" The nurse, noticing Ye Xiu's strange behavior, asked curiously after he had been silent for a while.

"Nothing. I won't disturb you any longer. Keep up the good work," Ye Xiu replied, smiling, before turning and leaving the ward.

As he stepped out, a genuine smile lit up his face, a rarity in recent months. Not only had he resolved the patient's issue, but he had also gained a deeper understanding of Director Wang. He realized that his superior was not the type of person he had initially assumed, but rather a dedicated physician he admired. His mood lifted considerably.

"Xiao Wu, did you see Dr. Ye?" As Ye Xiu left the ward, Su Dongmei rushed in and asked the nurse who had just finished changing the medication.

"Su Jie, are you looking for Dr. Ye? He was just here; he left a moment ago," the nurse replied, puzzled by Su Dongmei's anxious demeanor.

"He was here? What was he doing?" Su Dongmei's heart skipped a beat.

"He just came in for a moment, looked at the patient's medications, and left."

The nurse chattered away, recounting the strange encounter to Su Dongmei.

Hmm?

He looked at the medications and left?

What does that mean?

Could it be that he wanted to learn how other doctors treat patients?

Hmm, that seems plausible.

After hearing the nurse's account, Su Dongmei felt even more puzzled, racking her brain for an explanation. But the more she thought about it, the more it made sense – perhaps Dr. Ye was just being humble and wanted to learn from other doctors, unlike Dr. Zheng, who was arrogant and intervened in patient care without cause.

Maybe she shouldn't immediately bring up her concerns about Dr. Ye's competence to Director Wang?

She decided to wait and see how Dr. Ye performed before jumping to conclusions.

Thinking that Dr. Ye hadn't intervened in patient care but had instead humbly observed how other doctors treated patients, Su Dongmei felt a weight lift from her heart. Even the thought of discussing her concerns with Director Wang was temporarily set aside.
