Baby Steps

Kureno on his way to the capital decided to try and master the power of light which he thought is his given power from the blinding light. He tried mimicking Kizaru the bearer of the light-light devil fruit. He thought that by kicking while thinking of the sun can help, he once even tried staring into the sun by a whole hour. Fortunately enough the power he received is too overpowered that it allowed him to actually stare at the sun and not be blinded.

On his way to Turan the capital he was passed by multiple wagons. Some of the wagons are from merchants, nobles and some from foreign dignitaries that is obviously not from the country of Oar. All of the wagon drivers who passed through him are all baffled at the sight of a man staring straight at the sun for an a long time without blinking. Kureno just kept on staring at the while all these wagons just past through him. Not having any enlightenment in staring at the sun Kureno then decided to continue on his journey. Reaching a port below the giant floating island Kureno was surprised that he is able to ride the ferry without paying for anything.

The ferry to Turan is actually a big elevator where people is placed in a big circular surface where they are magically lifted up by some mechanism that is powered up by the Cores he had collected from the Giant Pig. Right now all that matters to Kureno is on how to activate his light powers, on the way up the city he noticed that there are people who keeps looking at him. These are the nobles of Oar who knows that the clothes Kureno is wearing are all rags sewn together to be enough to cover up their cold bodies. Their disdained looks made Kureno feel embarrassed who thought that they are people who would like to bring him to one of their parties like back in his college days. All Kureno could do is lower his head and distract himself by taking out the giant polished core and inspect it, however instead of having desired effect of keeping the people's attention away it drew more eyes to him. Kureno does not know that he is actually holding something so valuable for most people that he can already live in comfort in the outer part of the city of Turan.

Arriving in the surface of the island all Kureno could do is look for a cheap place to stay. When he asked one of the guards who are in the gateway they pointed him to the outer ring of the city where everything are cheap and does not have any quality in them. He got pointed to the place where most of the crimes happen, thinking that a country bumpkin like him cannot afford any of the places in the middle ring let alone the inner ring where the price of staying in one of the accommodations costs one rough core for a night. Getting the directions he needed Kureno went on his merry way to the outer ring and looked for a place to stay.
