The Ghost's Past & Rothschild's Might

As the Ghost began walking back, his father had no intention of leaving things like they were.

"Wait!"

The Ghost sighed and turned around. "I've said all I need to say."

"That can't be the way it ends. You'll go down some road, face off against that man... Die in that costume of yours! Is that what you want?!" Scott's eyes were locked on his son, words full of a fearful parent's passion.

The Ghost turned to look at him. His eyes stung, his body wanted to yell out things that would drive him away, but those words never came out.

"When I was asked to be loyal, asked to play the ridiculous role your family cast me into, I played the part, but never good enough. If I die in this "costume of mine", I'll die with all three of you watching, as thousands of people cheer for me to win, to beat the odds."

"You'd throw away your life, just to make her have to acknowledge you?"

"No, I'm not doing it for her. I'm doing this for Grandpa, for Grandma, for those two to...."

The two were interrupted by General Daniel running up to them.

"Ghost, we got a message."

"From who? All of our allies are here in town."

"Ghost... Rothschild is on an open line, demanding to speak with you."

All three of them rushed over to WCMY. Once there, H and the Intelligence Agency had locked down and hidden their frequency.

"Well? Is this fearless leader of America going to answer?"

"Bold move attempting to reach me on an open channel. Oh, you can tell our agents there's no use tracing me."

"Well now, you do have a brain under all that metal."

"Cut to the point or we're done."

"Come to Plymouth Rock, alone. I want to discuss terms."

"Terms of what."

"Come find out."

The call went dead, and the Ghost walked out of WCMY.

"Ghost, think about this. He's baiting you."

"Can't risk not knowing." As he entered the Fairgrounds, Dr. Sue was showing off the OPCA Mk II, and its dual, magnetic sledgehammers. Without hesitation, the Ghost unplugged the demonstration cables. Handing his cape to Danied, the Ghost entered the armor and activated the new "P-818 Rocketpack".

"If you feel the need, scramble troops and fighters. Wait thirty minutes, then come for me."

Once the Ghost seemed to vanish, Daniel scrambled all their troops, fighters and forces. As the Ghost ripped across the state's borders, reaching Plymouth, Massachusetts. As he landed, he kept the pack in standby mode. He marched towards the American landmark, he saw a singular NWO ship off the coast. However, as he approached the landmark, the Ghost was approached by Rothschild himself.

"At last, we meet up on the same ground the pilgrims once called home."

"Get to the point." Said the Ghost, activating the suit's noradrenaline injection.

"Okay, release them." Said Rothschild. Upon his order, the Ghost's mother and sister were released by super soldiers.

"What the hell is this, Rothschild."

"Don't you see the beauty of this? You rise, only now to fall. I personally interrogated these two, and boy did I learn so much about you."

The Ghost showed no change in emotion, not a single shiver.

"Cold, resilient and lacking a singular notion as to being grateful for this gift."

"Gift? All I see is a pathetic worm using lives to get something out of me. It won't work."

Rothschild laughed and seemingly vanished. However, he revealed his true body after jumping up from the rock ledge. His body was younger, stronger, in-humanly strong.

"Clearly you've been on that Fascist Eugenics diet."

"I can do the same for you. After all.... You've had so much taken from you... Haven't you?"

"SHUT UP!" The Ghost pulled his mother and sister away from the tyrant as he brought down his fist.

Rothschild howled in laughter. "You just saved the one person who showed me every single way to crush you. How does it feel? All that rage, that swift and terrible will of yours... unable to pick out who's the real enemy?"

The Ghost unlocked each of his new hammers and took his stance against Rothschild. However, before he could move, both of his mother and sister vanished.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?"

"I simply showed you what you wanted to see. You are weaker than another hero I've ever executed. To think all of this pain, this anger you hold, is all over some stupid boy you loved in high school."

The Ghost fired the rocketpack, rushing himself towards the tyrant. "INSULT HIM AGAIN AND I'LL BE THE LAST FACE YOU EVER SEE!"

Rothschild hadn't anticipated the speed of the rocketpack, nor just how much noradrenaline was flooding the Ghost's bloodstream. The two hammer struck Rothschild's side with a force unlike anything he'd ever felt. After he recovered, he grinned.

"That boy was a miserable, worthless piece of shit! YOU DESERVE EVERY OUNCE OF PAIN YOU HAD COMING!"

The Ghost was already on him, this time, the metal hands of the armor were wrapped around Rothschild's neck.

"YOU WILL NEVER KNOW THE THAT KIND OF LOVE THAT WAS! YOU ARE SUB-HUMAN, YOU BELONG UNDER THE STEEL TREADS OF MY GODDAMN BOOT!"

Rothschild broke an arm loose, and tore open the OPCA's helmet.

"My, my, what a fire behind those eyes." He kicks the Ghost backwards then with the force of seven grizzly bears, plants his knee into the armor's chestplate. He grabbed the Ghost, and slammed him into the rocky ledges around Plymouth Rock.

"Those aren't the eyes of someone who was robbed... Those are the eyes of some stupid little hero who failed to protect someone he loved."

The Ghost, who had gotten to his feet, froze. His eyes widened in fear, mere moments before Rothschild sent him flying backwards, breaking one of the Ghost's hammers in the process.

"You're just a fool, playing pretend, trying to save everyone, never to save the one you actually cared about. While your mother never told me where you'd be, she told me exactly how to win this war."
